      Those really aren't goons though, that's not their function. They don't even look like that. He legitimately needed to make sure that the room is not filled with spying devices. The goons would have looked very differently. The point of this is not intimidation. The point of this is to cover his ass, in case this guy went to the cops.

    This sentence succinctly expresses a lot of the subconscious thoughts in relationships people would never would dare to voice.
    Doesn't matter if it is professional or personal relationships.
    People always walk around the bush and try to "rephrase" this sentence more diplomatically..
    It is also about loyalty. Very adult to adult conversation.

      I've written a full preliminary treatment on this. Basically the whole crew comes back to replace Orrin Bach and becomes Axe Capital's new power squad of lawyers. Old office on lex and all. Imagine Louis Litt and Wags for instance. You can write a whole comedic season with just those two alone.

    • @jkgeroso6057
      @jkgeroso6057 3 года назад

    • @shanekeenaNYC
      @shanekeenaNYC 3 года назад

      @@jkgeroso6057 It could work though, especially if every other major actor comes back. Imagine the expansion via merger of two somewhat claustrophobic universes. Imagine Wags and Louis walk into a bar. Basically handle it like an immense easter egg fest. In the particular instance of Rick Hoffman and David Costabile, some continuity is a bit overrated, so it's pretty good to take the flyer.

    • @timothyharshaw2347
      @timothyharshaw2347 4 года назад +15

      @@bval8138 Crypto currency in theory is an anonymously held digital asset that acts like a Barer/Bearer Bond - which refers to a Document that gives legal control over something to whomever literally posseses the document. The document in this case is the cryptocoin, which can be anonymously converted to cash and then that cash further obscured by being deposited into an offshore shell company registered to another company or designated agent/corporate services firm. What Axe is doing is essentially a type of Money laundering, and depending on how it is executed and the intent of execution can be considered tax avoidance or tax fraud and maybe even Racketeering.

    • @bval8138
      @bval8138 4 года назад +4

      @@timothyharshaw2347 OMG thank you for the reply! And it is definitely starting to become clearer. Final question if I may ask, if Axe decided to convert the money to cash... Cash is traceable, so wouldn't the feds know that Bobby had converted it from crypto and be charged with the charges you described?

    • @timothyharshaw2347
      @timothyharshaw2347 4 года назад +8

      @@bval8138 You're welcome, and the answer is... Not necessarily. Cash is arguably not as traceable as digital transactions.. it is however hard to explain if it was illicitly generated. But that is why people and companies setup shell companies in tax Haven's or places that allow for anonymous incorporations that are used to hold cash in bank accounts. You can then either invest the cash or spend it in otherwise legit businesses that you control to clean it, or have a corrupt banker or representative issue you a "loan" using the money. The loan process in this scenario is probably the most straightforward process.

    In one of those darknet market operations, I remember that law enforcement established the evidence against one of the market’s operators by tracing cryptocurrency transactions despite the fact those transactions had been mixed or tumbled. At this point of watching Billions I was once reminded that it’s afterwards just a tv series, even though it may be both great and realistic in some aspects. The desired issues and topics are purposefully inserted into the scripts of tv series by the producers, for purposes of both making it not so detached from the real world and shaping public opinion. Like, they put in this non binary character and portray her as someone extremely intelligent in order to have the audience convinced and get used to their existence, even agree with their agendas.

Granted the risk isn't all that much higher, but when this amount of money and your livelihood are on the line, why would you even take a 0.01% risk increase if it can be avoided?
      The only reason would be if the financial stability of monero didn't seem to be there, in which case the anonymity doesn't even matter if your holdings aren't worth dick. Completely depends on the circumstances at the time.
