    I use my .177 springers for pest control, mainly those pesky little red squirrels. Sometimes the black squirrels get into my bird feed and I have to remove them. Satisfying hearing that loud "whop" when that pellet connects. Thank you for sharing this video.

    Nice work mate.
    The damage they do to our native oak trees needs to be taken more serious.
    During my own personal surveys as such of my local woods lots of big trees have lost limbs from where they peel bark off
    And all young oak trees tend to loose they’re leading shoot which makes them short trees.

    This is 4 months after the video’s release, but the ‘slow’ squirrel at about 15:30 seemed to be *smelling* the scent markers of the many other squirrels that had been already. If it’s in a low social position, it’d want to be sure no dominant squirrel was around to get on it. Just my guess from watching various wildlife videos. I’m in SW WI USA; a 70 year old farmers widow. Love these videos!👍👍👏!

    • @robertstallard7836
      @robertstallard7836 6 месяцев назад

      I think that's exactly correct. There is certainly a squirrel heirarchy and the slow squirrel was probably very low in the pecking order and never had the opportunuty to get on the feeder himself before, having to be satisfied with any bits the more dominant squirrels dropped. Hence he didn't know how to open the lid.
      It was also noticeable on a rear view that the squirrels who chased others away weren't, shall we say, at the back of the queue when the testosterone was handed out 😁

    That was a great demonstration of shooting skills and accuracy. May I ask, please?
    Generally, you use either your Air Arms Ultimate Sporter or your Weihrauch HW100 KT.
    I don't see much in them, to be honest. If I were to split hairs, I'd say I preferred the Air Arms. I love the function and the travel of the Air Arms cocking lever as it clicks and turns the magazine and cycles in the next pellet. Do you have a preference?
    Thank you, Ian.
