I got one a few years back. £1500 with 32k on the clock. Diesel. Gets 47mpg average and 58mpg on a 70mph run. Only thing wrong is heater control light bulb and clutch slave bearing after 30k miles. Bargain.
This thing changed my view about Hyundai for me- super reliable, parts are easy to find, low maintenance and gas consumption and fun to drive. Also the space inside is big. Since then been buying hyundai cars.
I have had my 2006 1.6 manual getz since new.I have completed 217000kms and still on the original clutch.Original alternator, starter motor. The most reliable car I have ever owned.I love our red getzy has been part of the family for 16 years.
I have the 1.4 and cannot remember how old it is. Sitting at 150K and still a joy to drive. Lived my life owning many cars such as 530i and Touareg R5 and I have to say this car has been nothing but a complete joy to own!!!
Got the 1.5 crdi and I absolutely love it! Compact, light, with an awesome kick when you flood the pedal! My go to car, cheap, reliable, economic (6L/100) and fits everywhere!
top car. My 03 is still going strong without any problems except 4 light globles & one new 185 set of tyres. It's a two door auto. from Melbourne Aussie 2021
I had a 2003 model with over 140,000 miles on it. The engine went like a rocket and everything still worked as it should. Even the Air Con still worked well. Unfortunately I had to scrap it due to rust. The rear arches in particular were in a terrible state. I miss that little car. It never went wrong.
My father and I have owned this car for 10 years. It has served us well and due to the pandemic, I have appreciated the car more because of its reliability and efficiency. I don't think I'll let go of our Getz soon. Still love it!
just bought a 1.3 GSi from 04... I'm surprised at how nippy this little car is! and it's great on fuel as well, I'm really quite impressed by the way it drives
Love this car! We have it as our first car and we fit a booster seat in the back (full booster) and 2 children (3 in total) not squished! Easy if you park on street! Overall a brilliant car we love ours!
We git our daughter a used one after her Swift was written off, not the most stylish but had the sweetest gearchange I've ever encountered, and that includes the MX-5.....by a long way.
Getz is one of the cars that was significant to Hyundai's return to better quality control and manufacturing practices. Before that, the 90s were like the gloomier times for owners of most Hyundai cars bcoz they were terribly flimsy and their engines tend to stall and bust out before 100,000 km (approx. 61,000 miles).
I now drive an nd mx5. I miss my Hyundai Getz. It was a solid well made tough nugget and so easy to drive and own. Surprisingly I hate my mx5 which has been an absolte disappointment in nearly everyway. I only recommend Kia and Hyundais to family and friends and warn them of mazdas poor quality.
This is the weirdwst comment I have ever read. A mazda mx5 poor and Hyundai Getz good? My father has a Getz and my mother owns a Ford Fiesta. While the Getz is indeed reliable it feels like you're driving a boat compared to fhe fiesta!
Nice review but the car isn't that good for rust quality. I saw one which was a 2008 car which is relatively new and cars of that age don't rust but the whole wheel arch was rotten and a 2004 one with rust on the boot and on the bonnet.
hi all was looking at one for my wife then found it is only one * safety rating. as i said to her i wouldnt be seen dead in one, but there again there is a good chance you would!!!!!
What do we think of the Hyundai Getz? A classic or nah?
Not really. It's kinda just a car that you see that you would not really call a classic yet

@@johnathanpearson3203 I got one this Easter as my first car, its unleaded with 50k miles and if cost £1100 :D
Got one and it's a solid runner give it 7 more years it will be retro maybe classic. It'll be tax n mot free by 2044ish.
the first one came in 2002 and they are rarely seen on the roads anymore so yeah they are a Youngtimer Classic

It's logitusally same as Japan and bottom of south Korea is higher than bottom of china
