My Type is a hip-hop genre but more to soft hip-hop.. Basically iKON did captured Korean heart from the start with their roots which is hip-hop..
It's similar to love scenario kinda style and guess what, love scenario did really well in charts and Korea.. And bling bling was a flop even though it was such a lit and catchy song.. I thought It would do well but I guess Korea likes love scenario and my type kinda style and music...
IKON is one of the most talented and hardworking groups out there. It's sad that they're underrated in their own country when they have powerful rap line and vocal line. And both units can choreograph and dance really well. Also the fact that they're writing and producing their own music. I can't believe some of their fans left them and for what? Mediocre music? Because they focused in another country? That's total bs. You of all people should know what IKON went through ever since pre debut. They've been through a LOT. 2 survival shows, poor promotion and people judging them without acknowledging where they're coming from. If you would only learn what kind of group they are. How genuine they are not just as an idol but as human beings. But I know how strong this group is. They will never give up no matter how tough the industry can be. IKON will rise again. They didn't become trainees for years went to survival programs, spents hours practicing and endure sleepless nights to make quality music just for you assholes to look down on them. Ash T Ash T may i assume by "other events" you meant the university festival performances? allow me to make a couple of things clear:
1. the sound systems at those universities were only from low to average quality, and the mics obviously couldn't be compared to the special wireless in-ear mics that YG bought for them.
2. university festivals are clearly different from award shows or music shows, so they performed differently (more playful, less serious).
3. if you've watched their performances on award shows (MMA, Gayo Daejun, SMA.....) you would see they sounded just as perfect and even better than on music shows (and of course those perfs were all live).
i don't understand, how is this lit comeback considered a flop? i don't stan them (not yet at least) but i LOVE this song and their stage presence is honesty amazing for a group so young.

Tbh i'm thankful to YG that ikon promoted more in japan and china last year cos they already build solid fandom there (in japan, ikon is really really famous. They're even mentioned in mangas and animes. And if that's not awesome to ya'll, idk what is lol) and performing in domes is a fucking big achievement. There are other groups that are really popular in China and Japan only. Because it's a very loyal and rich markets. But losing popularity in Korea and worldwide is bad. I can name you few bands who went down like this.
tae-rex Being popular in only Japan is really not a good sign. We learnt how groups can have a downfall and flop hard if they are not promoted more in Korea. There are so many groups who suffered loss of popularity and recognition because of excessive promotions in Japan and none in Korea. 2PM, Kara, FT Island, Crayon Pop and many more suffered from this! Hopefully YG realises this and promotes Ikon heavily in Korea this year!
