I somehow get the feeling that if ever you come to Europe it will be the least expensive vacation ever - No hotel room or sightseeing itinery needed, just the flight and a chair near a busy street, where you can watch traffic go by 🙂
3:11 Rába is a Hungarian brand. Unfortunately, under communism, everything was dictated by the Russian leadership. Later, the communist countries also produced racing and rally cars, this was the Lada VFTS (These cars are still made in central Europe around Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and of course Russia, and there are many different rally classes, from classic historic to modernised. In the latter case, the cars are allowed to have electronic systems, electric throttle etc., these cars can reach up to 230 hp and 230 nm of torque from a 1.8L engine. Classic rally events really love these!), the older F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen also drove a Lada in Finnland. 6:51 Lada 2106 7:28 Lada 1200S Combi 21013 8:19 Lada Niva Lada Police cars
Steyr (pronounced shti-er) is a traditional Austrian brand, who are specialists for all wheel drive vehicles, military vehicles and utility vehicles. But in the past they even built mopeds and cars.
Steyr is also the company that developed the truck that people in the US know as Stewart & Stevenson M1078. Steyr was participating in the tender of the US army for new FMTV and with the help of Stewart & Stevenson from Houston they won the tender in 1988. But because of questionable decisions the company (Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG) was dismantled between 1987 and 1998. The truck branch was sold to MAN, the military branch was sold to General Dynamics and the weapons department was spun off into Steyr Mannlicher GmbH & Co KG and many other branches were sold to different companies around the globe (the tractor branch was sold to CASE).

The Tatra 613 is something you would be interested in for sure :) It was manufactured in Czechoslovakia as a luxury sedan and had a rear-mounted air cooled V8.
3:50 Is a Mercedes W124. We had these also in the T Model (stationwagon) in a cabriolet and a coupe. Was also quite common as a police car back in the 80s and 90s where the car was built. I think it is one of the best Models Mercedes has ever built.
Glad you liked it. some info I have not seen yet in the comments: - The first few truck are not firefighters, but close: it says Katasztrófavédelem, means emergency services: responsible gas leakage,, chemical emergencies and such - the blue truck you mention as military is a police vehicle: used for crowd control, with a water canon at the top, pretty old. - another blue truck with a person carriage at the back you mention, is a DDR made IFA W50-based police prisoner transport car. - you can see some green Nissan Navarra pickups with "Határőrség" on the side, it mean Border Control. They are now disbanded. - on several firetrucks, you can read "Önkéntes", or ÖTE. Önkéntes means voluntary, as there are many cities, even villages with voluntary firefighters in Hungary. Most of the older fire trucks are kept in service by them. Many of their trucks are donations from other countries (Germany, Austria mostly). ÖTE means Önkéntes Tűzoltő Egyesület: Voluntary Firefighter Association.
at 9:00 Styer is an Austrian brand, Magna Styer, they've developed the best all-wheel drive system, it's in a lot of cars, it's in the Unimog, which you love, that's what makes the Unimog so good.
7:20 The superbright firetruck with the front exhaust has another unique feature: Look at the wheels: the front rim as well as the rear rim bulge to the outside. I'm very sure the rear axle is steered which makes the big truck pretty nimble in smaal streets (Remember that video on european waste trucks. There you could see some of those turning mindblowing narrow corners by steering with the last axle as well)
I was also about pointing about that Yellow white car before Škoda Favorit was Tatra 613, but fellow czech mates were quicker.. I just want to add that tatra 613 was made also as medical emergency car.. Maybe you can try to check them, I think you will not regret that.. I love these cars..
Faun is a Tadano Faun, and it's a mobile crane manufacturer (German) ! The Steyr is an Austrian manufacturer. The HIMARS in the US military is based on that truck. The FMTV is based on that truck. Rosenbauer is modifying existing trucks into firefighting trucks.
The limosusine car (white yelow) with letter VB (Veřejná Bezpečnost) before Favorit was Tatra 613. Used as police car during communist regim in former Czechoslovakia VB-Veřejná Bezpečnost (public safety) was another name for police that time.

6:48 It is not military, at least randorseg on the side means police, I don`t know if they maybe also just write police on military-police cars, because I only know this word for police
6:27 Europe's chuck full of them from WW2. Even my grandpa (now my brother) had three of them that were original to the army base that had been (at some point) on his lands.
@iwrocker Since you like heavy duty trucks, you should take a look at the Faun SLT 56. It is a tank transporter. There is also a Dutch transport company that has/had one for heavy transports
at 5:30 is a Tadano Faun wrecker/towing crane (for heavy truck/vehicle rescue operation)... they don't use a normal chassis but built their own ones specially designed for cranes (similar with Demag, Liebherr, Terex and other crane manufacturers) 8:55 and 9:00 are steyr trucks... (they are basically the originals of the "Stewart & Stevenson" trucks the US armed forces have/had as FMTV) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr-Daimler-Puch was one of the bigger Austrian brands that finally got split up and sold / merged to other brands... including MAN
Faun is a manufacturer of special vehicles in Germany. From the '50ies to the '70ies they made some military and civilian heavy duty trucks then they specialized in special vehicles like cranes and airfield fire trucks.
Car at 4:32 looks like Yugoslavian Zastava 101 or so called Stojadin. And that small blue police car is a Yugoslavian Zastava 101 for sure. It says MILICIJA ( Police ) in cyrillic letters.
7:25 The exhaust at the front.... I know you know this Ian, think about it for a minute. How are they parked in the fire station? What do they have nowadays? Now they have those fancy hoses that they attach that decouple when they roll out Those old yoked, just had the exhaust at the front, as they always backup into the fire station so this is the last in first out part of the truck. Old not always bad :D
Front out of the side exhaust is still used today on many UK and European trucks particularly those transporting flammable loads. LPG and fuel trucks they are mandatory.
@5:26 This looks like Tatra 6013. The colors were typical for Czechoslovak Police cars during Socialism. VB stands for Veřejná Bezpečnost (literal translation - Public Security).
6:43 'it's gotta be military' green truck is a polish made Star 29 hydromil, made from '70s, it's a water cannon that was used during communist rule in Eastern Europe to disperse crowds, and in Poland during football matches for hooligans, at least in the' 90s. Here is an exported one in I assume military painting, but used for same thing in the day I'm sure

I don't know much about vehicles, but I guessed that Steyr would be Austrian. In English one of the provinces of Austria is called Styria, which I think is now Steiermark. Many of the trucks had a long, heavily-accented word across the front, which must mean 'firetruck' or 'emergency' or something like that; but it is nothing like anything similar in most European languages. This is because the Hungarian language is very different. Most European languages belong to the Indo-European language phylum, but the Hungarians came down from north-west Siberia in the Dark Ages, and they speak a Uralian language, distantly related to Finnish and Estonian.
09:00 That's an Austrian brand. The companys' name was Steyr Daimler Puch. Doesn't exist anymore. They made a lot of cars, trucks, tractors, busses and motorcycles.

And the Steyr Pinzgauer is still one of the best off-road vehicles on the planet. Not strong, not fast, but quite capable. Some notable brands and models that had their cars manufactored at Magna Steyr were Fiat, Peugeot (RCZ), Mercedes-Benz (G-Wagon, E-Class, M-Class, SLS AMG) BMW (Z4), Toyota (GR Supra), Aston Martin (Rapide), Jaguar (e-pace and i-pace), Jeep (Grand Cherokee, Commander), Chrysler (Voyager, PTCruiser, 300c) aso...

Accurate 😂🎉
Front car from Favorit was actually Tatra model 613 police car from old Czechoslovakia, called "verejná bezpečnosť" or in english public safety.
Very cool 🎉

All the old Mercedes are gifts from Germany, when they modernized their own fleets.
that explains the sirens
