I'm 30 when I started racing 2002 there is only a few divisions on the asphalt track my parents own late models super stocks Street stocks pure stocks four-cylinder rear wheel drives and modifies that's it there is none of this limited late models and prolate models and 602 604 it was all just late models even down here in the south in the 2000s it was just late model ot all of this 604 and 602 late model crate dirt classes or asphalt classes that run on a smaller tire and use 602 crates in a latemodel chassis 602 late model racing is basically for people who can't win in super late model racing for people that can't afford it really so it's a good thing at 602 late models

Purpose built 365CI 8OO+ HP motors in the limiteds often racing for $5k to $10k to win vs the 602 and 604 crate model crap racing for $600 to $1k to win with a occasional $3k- $5k throw them a bone event. Crate models are like watching grass grow in the winter, dead. In NC there is three series dedicated to racing the limiteds because they are so popular, no series for the crate crap models, js. At most trscks below the Limited LM's is Limited Sportsman/Super Streets, UMP or Crate Modifieds, Street Stocks and several divisions of the bang bang 4 cylinders depending on the tracks. IMO there are way to many divisions in dirt track racing, 3-4 track divisions is all that is needed and all the rest can survive on tours with Super LM's and 410 Sprints being on top.
just so you know limited lates are the new supers. been proven supers cant run with the limiteds. only supers run a camaro stub. time for the supers to go by the way side

Hey Hot Karl i saw your post on picking up your motor from the builder and when you fired it for us and it brings me to a question your on a two barrel carb rule and the spacer you run is aluiminm unless the rules your under wont allow anything else why dont you look into runing a phonlic one i think you would be surprised at the performace gain

Your speaking the truth right there not only will it eliminate the pussys but also make the car counts greater since there’s less classes which means better racing and fuller stands, for years the dirt track seen has been dying due too low attendance! I should no growing up in a racing family with 6 different tracks to take care off and all dirt from 1/4-1/2 mile back in the 90s and early 2000s you had so many options where too race now there’s only one or two trackers in a 200 mile radius! Keep up the gospel!

No sir, different tracks have different rules but most of the time, super stocks aka super streets are basically clip cars, everything behind the firewall is built, and they are usually on leaf springs or sometimes 3 link/4 link. And most of the time their engines have lighter components, allowing a bit more power. Hope this helps
I disagree with you Carl we have won over 200 open and steel head features love them. But I have learned more about chassis working on the chassis instead of money pit we started crate in 05 . Love them . The big problem with crates is shocks you need to put them 95 in front and 94 in rear oil shock . You will put the racing back in the hands of the driver and crew . I agree they need a different me I would put them on towel recap tires . I want to race and enjoy and a latemodel is easier to work on then a modified or street stock oh and we about 400 to 500 street wins back in the 70 80 and 90s ran 4 to 5 nights a week. And we build 377 a lot easier then you did and it to some ford parts and some dodge part in the motor to make that Chevy run.
We had ump mods for quite a few years here in Michigan. They were a mod with late model engines and swing arms in Hoosier ump tires. They were fast but the car count slowly went down because they were spending as much on those as in a late model but the payout wasn’t as good.
Your use of useless adjectives leaves me to believe you don't know what your talking about.... but I hate crate models, I ran limited late model when we ran 311 cu in, motors turning 9200 or more, I ran steel heads for years.... crate motors made it where a young kid could start in a latemodel class tear up the field of cars wrecking.. I don't like to sound of a crate engine, racing should be costly not cheap at least that would keep some of the bums out....

Down In Texas cowtown speedway we had boomers, street stock,economy stock,limited mod.,wing mod.,410 sprints. And this was in the 1980’s.
My track barely ever runs regular late model, it’s all crate late model now.
Why not a sprint car class too? So we don’t get bored watching slow models.
