OKJ should compensate you for these completely reasonable enhancements to their already fine product.
    Be well sir.

I'd like to see a mod for operation without electricity. Basically an offset hob firebox. Thanks for your videos.

I am not sure how that would work but a Jackery 500 should work. A friend of mine is using this for his masterbuilt 1050... Amazon affiliate link > amzn.to/4bcXyi3

I have not tried it but the directions say to start it with standard briquettes and go from there. Put in about 20 or 30 to get it going. I have used lump charcoal, but you need to sort out any large chunks.

So, how do they recommend adding wood to the smoker? @pioneersmokehouseschannel

How do you keep ash from building up, and keeping the coal box from backing up, and getting "jammed"?

So far I have not had any issues with the ash pan over filling, but I have wondered if it could happen. As for charcoal, I am currently checking it every hour and I use a metal fire poker to give the charcoal a push when needed. Typically a few briquets will stick on the chute when it is low on charcoal, not a big deal for me. With lump I am removing large pieces as they have jammed many times.... I tried a charcoal bin insert modification and it failed so I need to think this through again.
