- Graphite pencils: HB, 2B, 4B, 8B.
- Keaded eraser.
- Soft brush.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm trying to make drawings for a high school geology unit on glaciers. I spent a few harrowing days this summer on aretes and horns (basically shattered rock piles that are the ridges and summits of glaciated mountains.) Following your tutorial I am able to make an acceptable (but by no means good) drawing of what my photographs didn't quite capture. Even better I can show students how to make quick drawings for their notes. Much appreciated.

Yes You can draw just with one pencil and achieve many shades with the correct techniques and practice. I´m thinking to make some videos on these techniques.

it looked easy until the part came where he start scribbling all over the place. it looked so professional and good when he did it but when I start doing it .. it turned out.. ehm..... not as is it supposed to look :/

the scribbling comes from knowledge of shadows. if you are a beginner, draw a sun in one corner. every side of the mountain that faces the sun should be light. the other sides should all be shaded. when you shade, always draw lines in the same direction as the sun is hitting.

Do you have any tips. I’m an advanced 16 year old drawer but I can’t draw things at the top of my head because when I have an image in my mind I draw some of it and when I get back to thinking about the image, the image has changed slightly. So I need a picture in real life so it makes it easier to draw but I’d rather have it in my mind so I can draw anywhere any time instead of having to get my phone out for pictures. I hope you understand what I mean but do you have any tips.

I really like your drawing and to make it even better I would try to explain what you are doing and go abit slower been because it was to fast but I think it was really good. And do you do anymore videos because I like this one.
