When you ship Pirate Ship cubic amounts under a cubic foot do matter though. So be accurate on the dimensions when using pirate ship cubic y’all. Lonnie has mentioned this before but just wanted to remind everyone. Greatest videos for new resellers Lonnie and Candace. You are a great resource for the community.
Are your shelves adjustable? you should take out the very bottom shelf and have the bins on the floor to slide out rather than on the top shelf that you have to take down every time you sell an item. They would then be like a draw you pull out to store clothing, shoes and other large multiple items in.
Great info yall, thank you-- pricing shipping can be a very foggy, intimidating experience; almost three years into ebay reselling, I am still learning small, helpful snippets of info like this-- thanks to yall!
Just for laughs, I looked up annual sales for the pet industry. They went from $50.9 million in 2011, to $109.5 million in 2021! This, they said, is largely due to the pandemic and it's starting to level off. Good news is all those new pets still need to be dressed, lol.
Just a note, there are ways to control all those things on an iPhone. If you ever have to use it again let me know and I'll write up something for you.@@shedflipsHope the camera lasts forever though.

Build-a-Figs: if you do open the packs, consider sending the cardboard insert (with the artwork/description) along with the item, but scrap the plastic. The insert would be useful and not add much size/weight to the package.😉
If the graphic info (not the comic) is affixed to the plastic, cut away just that section of the plastic, like you did the Monster High Dolls, so it can be sent along. I do that when a commercial part that arrives in a mangled box, but the part and box’s label are intact. The box label has good reference info like: Model, serial, batch, year, etc, that might be useful to the buyer. 😉

Hey Lonnie and Candice Thanks so much for the lesson on the camera. I've had a Nikon for 3 years and haven't used it. The setting advice I needed. Please tell me the process of getting my photos to my listing. I know DUH! Really I'm not a tech person at all. I've been taking all of my photos on my Android.
We just move the memory card from our camera to the computer and hit upload on the ebay listing form. We don't use mobile ebay to list though, we do it all on desktop.
Phones are fine for what they are--multi-purpose tools--but nothing beats the ease of use of a piece of equipment that has only one purpose in life! I mislaid my camera charger during an office move about a year ago but resisted buying as replacement because I knew it would turn up somewhere in one of the multitude of bags and boxes and I could 'temporarily' work with my phone. 6 months later the charger finally surfaced (in a bag I had *definitely* checked months earlier) so ready to go but... I then couldn't find the camera that I remembered putting in a 'safe place' so I definitely wouldn't forget where it was. Fast forward 3 months and I finally founds it hiding at the back of my sock drawer, I only found it because I was inspired to sort out the dozens of odd socks living there (am I the only one whose washer seems to delight in stealing socks? 23 unmatched socks accumulated over 12 months). Oh the joy of having an easily located physical shutter release rather than a touch screen 'button', and proper manual settings and decent white balance and centre weighted exposure control so my white background can happily burn out while the subject stays properly lit. Even having the option of a graticule on screen so I can avoid the dreaded (well I dread it) perspective distortion. I blame my obsession on the technical photography course I took at university 50+ years ago. Our tutor would take a set square to the prints we had, literally, taken hours to set up, shoot, develop and print, then get out his blue marker to highlight errors. Working in pairs we could spend half an hour sweating under the hood of a large format (8 x 10) plate camera setting all the planes to avoid distortion for a single product shot then another ten minutes to set the lighting to avoid glare and shadows before we even loaded the film plate. Just the thought of staring at that ground glass screen still sends shivers down the spine. But I just can't stand it when squares turn into trapezia, even though it is a fairly easy fix in the edit (that's the edit I promised I wouldn't waste time on...). Well, while I'm fixing perspective I can also adjust the white balance, knock out (one by one) those dust flecks on the back cloth, just bring up the shadow detail a bit and... oh dear, that's another 5 minutes gone on 'improvements' that not one person in a hundred will even notice. Joy, I'm finally back to a quick crop being the only post-shoot edit needed. TLDR?: Phones are OK but you can't beat a 'real' camera for ease of use.
Couldn't agree more. I really got into photography about 20 years ago and it was an obsession for about 10 years. Funny thing is that the reason I stopped is because I took a part time job as a second shooter. I'd shoot a wedding a month or so, and would get a flat $350, which was pretty good at the time. As soon as my hobby started making me a little money I fell out of love with it. Kinda weird.
My phone has a 200 Megapixel camera and it takes great photos, I completely understand wanting the best quality photos in a listing. I thought about buying a camera but right now my phone camera is great.
Phones have come a long way. I have an Iphone 14 and it takes beautifully sharp photos. It's just that the exposure and color are quite often not right. -Candice
Thank you for the information on the camera settings. I've used a SLR camera for years and been on a course given by the camera shop. I now understand it!! It's the best explanation of this I have heard. Do you delete your memory cards or are they uploaded to your computer? I've started using my iPhone now as I'm running out of space on my laptop. I've got thousands, even items I've sold. I need to go through and delete the lot. Thank you again!
I'm sure it's painful to open a packaged figure from 2006, they do sell better loose. There are more collectors wanting specific figures that don't want to pay premium for a sealed package. 90% of my inventory is loose figures and I can sell 10+ of the same figure before it ever sells sealed. Sealed stuff I carry is only 90s and older or NECA/collector focused toys.
Hi Lonnie and Candice. I am a huge fan and have been watching for years. Could you please tell me where you got your chair, Lonnie? Thank you so much. =)
Some of the BAF stuff can be more than others. Sometimes you'll get an exclusives that leg was only sold at one store or region of one store. Fortunately, they don't usually get Funko level exclusive, where you can only buy something at SDCC (San Diego Comicon) or some other special event.
Dvořák is pronounced "Dv-or-zhak" where the 'zh' sounds a lot like a French 'j' sound as in 'Jean' or 'Jacques'. He was Czech which is why the spelling and pronunciation don't fit easily in our English-speaking minds (and mouths--that 'dv' combination doesn't come easily to me).
Good to see you got your camera back 💪😊 and we’ll done Candice for grinding away on the pet items and now onto something you love action figures 👍 and the Guy phone springs into action again 💪
I know you guys have been excited about Ground Advantage, but I have a serious concern. If there is no longer a First Class option, are lightweight packages thrown in with the up to 70 lb. packages? That was a great thing about First Class, lightweight packages were segregated from the heavier packages being shipped. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
I also ship lots of small items, some in 4x4x4 boxes, some just in poly bags. Haven't had any issues. IDK how any of the USPS system works but since they could already sort first class from others I wonder if they use that system to separate low weight packages even though they are all technically ground advantage.
Guys just wanted to do an FYI Mercari makes this mistake often. I sold a bundle of 3 games weighing 4 oz each-I accepted the bundle offer from buyer and mercari only placed a 4 oz rate on shipping after payment from buyer no way around it So I just created a bundle for the buyer and I had to cancel the previous bundle offer that mercari created. Just be careful with that Lots of time and inconvenience

I wouldnt open them. If the part has the rare part you just add that cost to the package. most sellers selling these do that. your losing some customers that want them in package.
If I could figure out how to properly adjust white balance on my listing tablet (not even a phone) I'd probably be able to list twice as fast. Otherwise I'd have to buy some $500 camera and educate myself. I don't think I'm skilled enough to deserve a camera like that.
