GOT-DAMN. I just love all you do dude. It sounds so good. Keep up the good work! P.S.: Thank you once again for letting me use the Pepe Silvia drums in my video :)
Once again playing to the music perfectly. You're so damn good at it. Reminds of a vid I saw a long time ago explaining why Ringo was such a good drummer.
How do you Mic your set my man? Been watching for a while, and the sound is obviously better than a phone microphone and I can see a Mic stand in the back so I'm pretty curious.
damn!!! impressive! keep doing you man, i love your stuff. I don't mean to self promote, but check out Tanner Mackey on Spotify and tell me what you think. I like the way you drum, it's similar to the way i play but with your own unique style and sound, I'm not sure where you live, but if you like what I have, perhaps if I'm ever in your area we could collab on something. I do just about everything, and I'm always looking for other great musicians to work with! If not, still love your stuff and I hope you keep doing your thing.🤘
That's crazy man, I have a h2n and have never used it for recording drums I wouldn't of thought it'd comme out this clean, do you use any compression? And how high off the ground is the mic? Help appreciated, great work man
Shit man, I can't believe this freakin channel. I just found it today, and every video I've watched, from the funny weird drumming over shows/tv, to this video, everything is awesome.
Would love to do some interactive / live stuff for sure, but I've no internet where I record my stuff. I'm in the process of trying to find a new space though, so hopefully soon!
holy shit dude, fantastic definition, dynamics and groove, and those little fills are just tasty. Can you do something of Antoine Dufour? Keep doing this ;) ¡¡
I LOVE Takuya Kuroda! Found out about him when he played trumpet for Jose James. David Dockery, go listen to his album "Rising Sun". His tunes are catchy AF.
Dude this is awesome - looking through your channel you have the same taste as me! Wondering if you've ever heard of Alpha Mist?? Keep it up from Scotland
David Dockery well bugger me corrected, I apologise for me ignorance. Only ever play vic firths and I tend to just get the 5as or Dave wekkls signatures.
Thanks! I think that's a combination of the snare being tuned pretty high and the mic I use not picking up much of the mids/lows of the drum. The black bits on the snare are just duct tape to dampen it
I keep coming back to this every now and then, this is one of those thens.
Surely it was a now ;)
(3/24/19) I'm back again on one of those nows and have decided to start documenting my visits cause why not.
(4/26/19) Baaack
(5/23/19) Baaaaaaack
(10/12/19) O shi- waddup
I think just about everyone would pay to see you do the scene from Pulp Fiction about Marsellus Wallace and the burger.
yes.
Philip Shumway please do this.
Philip Shumway and on the topic of pulp fiction there's a lot of good scenes. Like the are you my nigga scene

Philip Shumway You should double dare him
You have an ear for the rythyms like I've never heard. You are slowly becoming my one of my favorite drummers
Certified organic drum flow
I love how you mixed this...not too loud not too soft. When i close my eyes i can't tell you're not in the same room as them.

love this comment, creative just as David haha
PD Chives 6. David Dockery
This is some real quality shit right here.
Man I just love how, in the beginning, you give the impression of a backbeat on the 'and' of 2 and 4 BUT THEN IT'S ACTUALLY ON THE 2 AND 4!!!! WTFFF
I knew this gonna be funky as hell within the first 5 seconds lol. Amazing groove
This might be the coolest thing I've witnessed in 2020 and I don't think any of my friend will understand of how AMAZING this guy is
Yes i love this song. found it on a jazz playlist on spotify a while back. it does have a great drum sound
Saw Takuya live a few months ago, was really great.
Takuya Kuroda is a modern jazz legend
WE NEED MOAR LIKE THIS!
John Mayer yes
I like your tone... hit hat, ride, toms, snare, kick, everything is lovely ; sounds rrrreally soft, yet precise
Whoa... Awesome performance man! Sweet touch on that snare!
Pretty good track man. I've never even heard of this guy, so thanks for that!
First you cover Always Sunny, then Ricky & Morty, now Takuya Kuroda. I have a feeling we'd get on really well.

regularly look forward to your videos. impeccable picks and tasty playing. don't stop!
Would love to see a mononeon collab
Awesome job as always
This is some great stuff man!
Nice man!hoping to see more of these
I admire how you engage the back fingers. Everything's just relaxed in the technique, quite good!
Amazing as always my dude. Also, this one in particular would work so well with the soundtrack in Persona 5
Takuya Kuroda is so underrated man.
This was done so well that I can't believe the original is drumless.
Was missing you, man! This truly made my day. :-)
The most soulful drummer!!!
Sooo awesome! Your ghost notes are from heaven! XD
GOT-DAMN. I just love all you do dude. It sounds so good. Keep up the good work!
P.S.: Thank you once again for letting me use the Pepe Silvia drums in my video :)
You’re one of my favorite musicians.
Once again playing to the music perfectly. You're so damn good at it. Reminds of a vid I saw a long time ago explaining why Ringo was such a good drummer.
Fire! Love that intro fill. Processing.....
How do you Mic your set my man? Been watching for a while, and the sound is obviously better than a phone microphone and I can see a Mic stand in the back so I'm pretty curious.
That mic stand is purely for misdirection, I just use a Zoom H2N facing the kit about 6ft away!
damn!!! impressive! keep doing you man, i love your stuff.
David Dockery wooow the zoom is this good?? Awesome!
That's crazy man, I have a h2n and have never used it for recording drums I wouldn't of thought it'd comme out this clean, do you use any compression? And how high off the ground is the mic? Help appreciated, great work man
Never seen a non japanese person who knows Takuya Kuroda before, nice!
Yeah it takes a type. Think I found him in the midst of discovering the UK jazz scene that's now getting buzz.
Keep it up brother! Love watching your stuff!
The feel of your playing is so good it actually pisses me off. Excellent stuff
this truly is great
So solid man, very nice.
Gotta love me some Takuya
I just had a bad day and this just got me alll soooo good. Thanks man
That's what it's all about! Nice!
Shit man, I can't believe this freakin channel. I just found it today, and every video I've watched, from the funny weird drumming over shows/tv, to this video, everything is awesome.
Whaaaa! You know about Takuya Kuroda?? You're extremely dope on the drums btw. New subscriber here!
Alright after 30 mins of my morning with this playlist I'm intrigued. I'm your new sub and notifier.
Takuya Kuroda's Rising Son is fuckin perfect.
Ryan DeCinque Right?

That would change my life🙏🏼

Now THIS band I would listen to. Sort of has a "Mouse on the Keys" feel to it.
Mouse on the keys, but the mouse is on something... This here is just way funkier
Didn't know you were a takuya fan, he's great
Dude you're so good!!!
So. Damn. Smooth.
Dude you should consider streaming on Twitch if you got the extra time, people would love watching you live
Would love to do some interactive / live stuff for sure, but I've no internet where I record my stuff. I'm in the process of trying to find a new space though, so hopefully soon!

Make a sample pack! I love your drum sound!
This is sooooooooo sick
So awesome!!
Your chops are sick af
holy shit dude, fantastic definition, dynamics and groove, and those little fills are just tasty. Can you do something of Antoine Dufour? Keep doing this ;) ¡¡
Thank you! I love fingerstyle guitar playing so I'll take a look at some artists and see what I can do!

This was REALLY great but shouldn't you be finding a refrigerator or something that is making noises that you can jam with?
I hear a washing machine collab is in the works
Oh man, I miss jazz.
I LOVE Takuya Kuroda! Found out about him when he played trumpet for Jose James. David Dockery, go listen to his album "Rising Sun". His tunes are catchy AF.
Damn! You're a God.
Dude this is awesome - looking through your channel you have the same taste as me! Wondering if you've ever heard of Alpha Mist?? Keep it up from Scotland
Fucking love your groove man
So fucking good!
Goodness gracious am I glad my brother showed me you. Pin?
No idea how you use those chopstick 8a’s but this was some cool shit. Really enjoying your snare as well.
Have you played 8As? Just curious as a lot of people think they're thinner than 7As judging by the name
David Dockery I do have to admit I assumed they were just even thinner than 7’s, so they’re not thinner?
Nah theyre just a tiny bit thinner than a 5A
David Dockery well bugger me corrected, I apologise for me ignorance. Only ever play vic firths and I tend to just get the 5as or Dave wekkls signatures.
All good man!
Do a Mighty Boosh crimp!
Man, can you make a Dogs of Wisdom with drums video? That'd be amazing.
the wonderful nate smith
Dennis Chambers would approve
This is so disgusting. Im probably solely responsible for half of the views on this vid. Thank you for having so much flavor!!!
super!!
What a god
Hi David, this is fantastic! How long have you been playing for?
Finally got some new sticks? :D
All I can say is, "Mmmm, dat snare"
I like your hair.
Amazing stuff man. What do you have on the snare to give the hi short ring? Sounds great and I bet nicer than trying to keep a splash on the snare...
Thanks! I think that's a combination of the snare being tuned pretty high and the mic I use not picking up much of the mids/lows of the drum. The black bits on the snare are just duct tape to dampen it
Do David Dockery w/drums
