Country Dance is a great example for a phrase called Question and Answer Phrases, which means it is a musical part that the first idea does not feel complete without the 2nd. It sounds like a Western Country version of Minute Waltz. Very nice song!

I just discovered that this piece is actually an arragement by the German violinist Willy Burmester, who is not credited in the Suzuki book... it seems that lots of music in the Suzuki books are arrangements, but the arrangers are seldom credited in the book (with a few exceptions). Edit: I have found that there are even more uncredited arrangements by Burmester in the Suzuki books. These include: Rameau's Gavotte from Book 6, Beethoven's Minuet in G from Book 2, Dittersdorf's German Dance from Book 5, and Handel's Bourree from Book 2. Burmester also made arrangements of Gossec's Gavotte from Book 1 and Lully's Gavotte from Book 2, however these have been transposed to different keys in the Suzuki books.
This piece was written by C. M. von Weber who was alive in the 1700s. While I do believe your grandfather was probably a very talented and invested musician, I don’t think he wrote this piece.
Perhaps there are 2 songs named Country Dance? But I am sure that my grandfather (Donald Heins), who was a violin teacher and concertmaster at both the Ottawa and Toronto Symphonies, wrote a song called Country Dance in the early 1900’s.
