    The affluent youth watching NBA or EPL is a rounding error in the count of cricket watchers in India. There are more concurrent viewers fro a test match with Afghanistan than an EPL match

      WPL is won by RCB women because their star foreign players are mostly allrounders - Elyssie, Heather and Sophie. Even Renuka plays ftom RCB.
      This is opposite to RCB men where most bowlers they have from India are uncapped anf if they play for India, RCB let go of them to pay for batters and foreign stars.

    Are you serious with the infographic? It was during FiFa worldcup and that too during the back end of the tournament of quarterfinals and semifinals and compare it to "search rate" of cricket where major tournaments happening at that moment were India V Bangladesh and Eng V Pak. And you are saying that Soccer/Football is being "searched" and people are "tuning" into Football, you guys are nuts.
    If this is the Market research you guys do for your products and take decisions without taking context and recency into effect.....god save your companies.

      @@firstperspective9131 No way 😂 first of all that's a very elitist assumption....people from low-income families from Kerala, North-East and even from Bangalore Goa all watch football...the craze is not high because Indian football needs to do something big..needs more sponsors...and mainly some day enter the world cup...until then it won't be a household game. But cricket is not going anywhere. It will take ages to replace cricket :)

      @@ashtamidevi2315 Aah noo. Appreciate the civil response but we are on the same boat. I'm not saying that poor don't follow football. It's just that a lot of people at the top are pretty updated with the football ongoings. It's not about replacing cricket, it's about promoting and supporting each and every sporting team with almost same level of energy and enthusiasm. This is not only going to break BCCI's spine (read monopoly) but also nurture a healthy sporting environment. I'm a fan of neither BTW. I used to watch cricket like the rest of the crowd but then I realised it's adding zilch to my lifestyle and well being.

      @@firstperspective9131 Yeah BCCI being the second richest sporting body should take the initiative to promote other forms of sport. A lot of us are cricket fans because of the way it is promoted 😅 but now that I am a fan I don't know if I would follow anything else as closely as that :) But I would love to see Tennis being developed as a very normal sport from the grassroot-level instead of being accessible only to the elites who can afford the coaches and training.

    RCB makes so many changes in coaching team and players it is tough to win a IPL Trophy. Without any reason RCB sacks a coach and let go a good player like Chahal. Cricket is also a business and RCB is a bad owner and doing bad business, period.
    Kohli is a highest run scorer for RCB, Kohli is a legend however he has a worse IPL record and that is he played higest number of matches for a franchise, highest captained for a team without winning a IPL trophy.

    Only Nikhil making real sense and his questions are senseful too. Wish the answers were well-thought too instead of cliches. Like is cricket dying? Of course it is dying. What are these other people on about? Not many people now sit through a single full innings of a T20 format let alone other formats.

      @ShubhamSharma-yb9vl День назад

      First of all, I am sorry to say but I don't get this style of talking 'talk for yourself..bro'. What is happening to us.
      Secondly, we are talking about different things here. Increase in viewership doesn't mean that traditional cricket is not dying. The accessibility is more now, which is why the numbers. Plus Jio, if I am not wrong, is not showing the actual numbers but the number of clicks.
      Cricket, as an orginal sport, is losing its value. Which is disheartening to say the least.
      No one has the patience to watch a good real game of cricket.
      Is cricket dying as a sport? Absolutely.
      Is increase in viewership means people like watching cricket more than they used to before? Nope, I don't think so.
      So, in essence, cricket is dying.

      @@ShubhamSharma-yb9vl Haha traditional formats of cricket have a huge fan base more than the shorter formats from what I have understood. Maybe a small section of the population cannot sit through anymore..that does not mean cricket is dying. Please don't generalize. As I said, people who do market research and planning are not fools to invest in something that will slowly die 😄 It is even comical as I am typing to think what you have said. The formats may change. It will take a long time for the sport to be replaced. I will come back in 10 years and reply to your comment if it has died :D
      As for the first part of your comment, what's bothering you? The colloquial way of saying or that I referred to you as 'bro?"

    • @ShubhamSharma-yb9vl
      @ShubhamSharma-yb9vl День назад

      @@ashtamidevi2315 No one is saying cricket won't exist in 10 years. Traditional cricket having huge fan base is just a wrong statement. Who is watching it? Even my parents and grandparents have smart phones now. No one has the same patience anymore. Forget about the gen z and whoever comes after them. But let me say this, from the responses of yours, I am certain that it's your way or the highway. Seems like you're trying to just win in a discussion rather than trying to understand what I am saying here. Objectivity seems to be missing as you are biased against Nikhil in this video and I kind of supported one of his points.
      On that note, let me say this
      You are right. I am not. I am so wrong that it is almost comical, isn't it? So let's just not have any of these two and fros.
      Thanks for replying to my comments.
      As for what's bothering me... In text, it doesn't represent colloquial style of writing...rather a condescending one. I don't care much for the word 'bro'. But not for the reasons you might think. It's just not as cool to me as people try to make it. Bro bro bro...all the way...

    • @ashtamidevi2315
      @ashtamidevi2315 День назад

      @@ShubhamSharma-yb9vl Apologies for the bro usage since you found it condescending. As you know, we all comment instinctually. You said in your main comment...what are they on or something...you say I am biased...I found you biased against the others. Hence, I began my comment in that way 🙂 Maybe you are right that it was condescending. As for the other part, a term like "dying" is a strong word..which made me reply in a strong way.
      You don't have to agree with me. As I said, if I am wrong we will see that in the coming decade. Peace.
