    This DOES NOT VOID WARRANTY.. confirmed by Samsung. IF AND ONLY IF you damage your display when doing this it voids it. Samsung will even remove it for you!!!!

    • @ChrisFlowers
      @ChrisFlowers 3 года назад +2

      Doesn't this largely depend on where you purchased your Fold 3 from and what sort of cover (as in insurance/warranty) is applicable? Some suggest that if you purchased directly through Samsung and you choose to remove the screen protector then you are not covered under their warranty (unless Samsung authorised retailer removes it for you). If you purchased from a third party retailer however, pending their approval you are still covered if you decide to remove the protector. I don't think it's, currently, just as simple as to say it does not void your warranty.

      Come on guys! Don't waste your time! Typing on my Fold 3 w/o protection on home screen. same like I did on Fold 2. Don't worry this is just plastic cover nothing else. Sooner or later front screen protection will start see small coners peeling. Exactly the same experience as Fold 2.

      @@genogts not saying anyone is right or wrong, but it's entirely understandable for some to be apprehensive when there is so much uncertainty about the warranty. Long and short of it is, Samsung should put an official statement out to put minds at rest.

    I got the ZF3 last August, and almost a year later the screen started to bubble like crazy down the middle. It impacted my user experience massively, so after researching a bit I decided to remove the screen protector. Can confirm that it works fine, no issues whatsoever and the screen actually looks better with it off.

    Just removed mine after fighting with Samsung (Online and Phone) and Asurion and I can honestly say this; if you are not experiencing issues with the protector, keep it on and remove it when it starts bubbling, its going to happen. Feels nice to the touch and will mostly likely apply a third party or go to Asurion so they can do it since they seem to have the stock one there and ONLY there. Just wish Samsung would be honest and transparent; phone isn't cheap and would like resolutions at the very least instead of the community figuring shit out.

    My fold3 screen protector cracked right down the middle of the fold after 3 months. Sent into samsung, say that warranty is voided due to physical damage even though this is through no fault of my own. Absolute criminals so even though they say warranty isnt voided their upholding of the warranty is fraudulent. Absolutely disgusting and having to go through the courts. Great review, I have a question regarding finger prints on the inner display's screen protector vs. the inner screen after you removed the inner protector. I had a Z Fold 2 and removed the inner display protector, which I was happy about, since it was very rubbery and did nothing to repel fingerprints, but I noticed the Z Fold 3's protector is thicker and better quality, and seems to repeal finger prints pretty well. I'd like to remove it for two reasons, pocket dust collects all around the edges of the protector, and my S-Pen always catches on the edge of the protector when I draw in from an edge. That being said, I'd be bummed if after removing the protector, I started getting fingerprints showing up on the inner display, when I didn't on the protector.What has been your experience, since you used it with and without the inner display protector now?

    So supposedly the actual display surface below the plastic protector is made from real glass, meaning it would not be scratched by copper or maybe even unhardened steel.
    Did you ever try to check the hardness of the screen? I'm really interested in the actual properties of this glass, I can't find much about it online.

    I think the reason why it voids warranty when doing this is because aftermarket screen protectors could damage the screen when you remove it later on due to how strong the adhesive is.
    I had the Dome Glass screen protector on my Note and IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE OFF. I had cracks on the protector so couldn't take it off in one clean sheet. Had to use Goo Gone, blow dry, banging screen on hard surfaces to crack the protector into tiny pieces, then lots of elbow grease to pry it off.

And the more I try to remove the bubbles, the blacker it gets! And I can't use it anymore without the stylus.... Make sure to tell them it was due to a mechanical breakdown so they can replace it for free! That happened to me in October/November and the first Samsung Care+ representative told me I'd have to pay for it, then I called back and explained again and because it wasn't my fault and I was using the phone as normal, that Samsung would cover it 100%. It just took about 4 weeks to get my brand new replacement device.
