My screen was broken so I thought. Little did I know there was a screen protector. I took it off and now my phone looks brand new again. I wouldn't recommend if your protector is still in tact but in my case it's easy to remove and replace.

Mine bubbled here in Japan. I was told to take it to the Samsung shop in Harajuku. The first thing the gal had me do is take the screen protector off myself. She then took it to the technician to reapply a projector, took about 45 minutes. No charge for this. But it begs the question of this video about taking it off yourself and leaving it off. I'm sure the person at Samsung had me peel it off was to be sure they could not be blamed for any damage in the process.
As you note, the screen eventually doesn't fold out flat and I noticed after this change it was worse. I have since ditched the fold 4 and now rock a Flip 6. I love this phone and as I never used a pen before I didn't really miss that. It also is much better in both folded and unfolded condition. It is the best of the Samsung Fold devices.

Honestly.... There's no reason to keep it on. The screen looks a lot better without it and it's quite durable as long as you keep the phone closed when not in use.

The main reason I've seen not to peel it off would be if you use the S Pen. But it does look better, and the underscreen camera looks clearer. Thanks for the comment

Had both the issues with my Fold 4: bubbling of the screen protector on the large screen and the phone wouldn't fully open. Brought it to Samsung Romania and they just replaced the large screen under warranty. The reason it wouldn't fully open was that some pocket debris made it's way inside. I asked the tech if it is safe to remove the screen protector and he said yes, it will not impede the functionality or void the warranty. He did tell me to be gentle with the S Pen which I don't even use. The new large screen came with a protector on it.

I asked Samsung about this as soon as i got the phone and they said that the inner screen protector is an integral part of the inner screen project and it shouldn´t be removed under any circumstance, and if i do my phone could be damaged. Then i asked what kind of damage they were talking about and they didn´t respond anymore.
From my experience, this inner screen protector tends to get marked really easily even by really short fingernails. I´ve heard it helps mainly to avoid pressure related damage to the screen. But it gets marks (scratches) very easily.
Samsung has replaced it once for free after less than 1 week of use because of those scratches (screen didn´t have a single scratch tho), but i saw scratches again in the protector as soon as i left the Samsung service center and played games for about 10 minutes. I went back and they said they would replace it again anytime i want but i´d have to pay a R$ 180,00 fee (about $35). So.. I´m still keeping the replaced screen protector (with lots of scratches) after about 1 year of use.
Pro tip: if you don´t like scratches in your screen, don´t get a foldable as they are really susceptible to them - even if you are very careful and have good control over finger pressure and placement specially while gaming.
Conclusion: Even tho i find foldables pretty handy and fun to have, I might swap this phone for a good quality above 6" smartphone after a few years using it and just get a tablet with a gorilla glass screen or similar for gaming and videos. Foldables are not there yet as far as the inner screen ruggedness go and in my opinion they won´t be in the near future either.

I wouldn't recommend to remove the protector if it's still intact and when you unfold and fold the device, there's nothing wrong with it. Unless you are annoyed because the phone is missing one of the best key features of the Galaxy S Ultra lineup, which is the anti-reflective coating that Samsung uses on their high-end candy bar phone. If so, go ahead and peel it at your own risk and install your own aftermarket, even though Samsung doesn't recommend it because who knows if they have tested their screen protector on a Galaxy fold of the many generations that have come out and their claims are true about the phone being able to fold and unfold many times without the protector peeling off if that would happen. I would just recommend to go to Samsung and have them install a new one. If you're still under warranty. That would be the safest way at least for me.

A couple hours later the bubbles came up on different spots and when I opened it the next day the first bubble was now from top to bottom and with that black bar. Also the complete right side of the screen stopped working (picture yes, touch no). I saw some articles that this (my) issue is a common one on the Fold 3 and is somehow related to the hinge. In the end Samsung wasn't able to repair the phone as no spare parts are available anymore. Warning to all owners of a samsung fold! The phone should be covered for at least one year with the manufacturers warranty. However, if you peel it off and something happens to your phone's electronics and you contact Samsung and end up taking it to the store for repairs. If you don't have the screen protector - you forfeit the covered warranty on the phone and they will NOT repair it.
