This is how you and I are different: When you saw the old man careening across the deck on the cruise ship, you were (justly) concerned for his well being. I on the other hand, spontaneously laughed my ass off!
I'm a trucker and the last time I was in Washington State I saw dust devils that were at least 100 feet high. Northern Washington is like being on another planet.
One thing videos will never be able to really convey is just how loud many of these things really are. I had a lightning strike hit very close to me once and it is by far the loudest thing I've ever heard.
@@SBCBears I WAS once electrocuted by a fence though. It was the strangest feeling. One second I was trying to feed a duck and a calf and the next I was looking at a friend coming toward me in slow-motion and everything was like trying to hear someone talking to me while I was under water. My whole body was numb for just over a minute and when the nurse examined me she said what I experience was similar to being hit by lightning; except if it HAD been lightning I'd be in a great deal MORE pain, instead of just being numb. OR I'd be dead. so I honestly can't say I know what getting struck by lightning feels like, but I do have THAT experience.
@@patrickcromwell7554 OMG! Parallel experiences... kind of. My moment with an electric fence as not nearly as dramatic as yours. I touched it electric fence with my chin. I was making friends with some young bulls who were curious. I didn't realize the fence was electrified. My experience was much mild compared to yours. I just blacked out in place for a moment. It was as if my conscious mind was momentarily switched off and back on. I didn't fall down or have any perceptual disturbance, just a momentary glitch. You know such a thing happened when there is no memory of the few seconds previous to the event. It takes a few seconds for very short term memory (VSTM) to be stored. Electricity is our friend, usually. 🙄
@@SBCBears Yeah it was the same in my case. But I didn't just touch the fence, I leaned over it to touch the curious calf, so I was like ON it for a couple of minutes before I even realized I was being electrocuted. That's why but friend came running and why I couldn't hear him. There were no signs or anything either. Just me being oblivious.
Great and different video. Hope to see more videos like this. 😊 And living on the coast of Norway, can get pretty windy in the fall. And watching so much landmass with houses and all slide into the ocean was just unreal first time I watched that clip. Thank you for the video Blu. 😊
I saw one Live here in Philippines few Years ago. Was before Corona came out, we had Volcano erupt here, was not very far away at all. Always if we stand on the Street and looked over the House we lived in, we saw it. Damn was it cool and scary at the same time. The Luck, we had no Wind, Air so no Ashes came to us at all.
You should see the damage from Helene and Milton. Seriously you wonder how did that happen. One odd thing did really happen during landfall. An alligator actually attacked a truck which is beyond wild. Alligators are known to be lazy and growl when threatened but a straight up attack is just not possible. Only five alligator attacks are on record and all of them are because the alligator was guarding a nest. This makes it the sixth and it’s a straight up attack. Which resulted in zero damage to the truck nor the person inside the truck. Alligators mostly hunt water birds, wild boars, and white tail deer. Human is never on the menu as we are too big.
During mating season the males can become very territorial and aggressive towards anything that enters it. The rest of the time they are mostly opportunistic hunters.
15:49 that guy could have recorded his own death on camera. His hairs were up standing straight bcz of build up of static charges ( that's sign of an imminent lightning strike ). He was lucky that he wasn't hit by the lightning. If ever your hairs stand up during overcast skies and there is no shelter around, squat down and put your head between your knees, be as short as possible ( don't lie down flat ).
The volcano explosion in Papua New Guinea is horrifying. There was a sightseeing tour on the island when the volcano erupted. I forget how many people died but a lot of the survivors were burned

Canada is actually number 2 on the tornadoes list, but it still gets only about 1/10th of the number of tornadoes as the US does. Tornadoes happen on all continents, but North America gets around 90% of the world's total number. North America's geography is pretty much perfect for spawning large numbers of powerful tornadoes. There are other parts of the Earth where the geography works, but they're not even close to the scale that that it exists in North America. You need a source of hot moist air (the Gulf of Mexico), a source of cooler air (the Rocky Mountains), and an area of flat open terrain where the winds can pick up speed and combine in violent but regular patterns (the Great Plains). There's no place on Earth with all those things in the right places and at such scale as exists in North America.
