The guys who always postured and screamed "they were going to f you up" type stuff always got their ass kicked or they ran away.
The bonafide, scary tough guys....they were almost always quiet. You knew they were tough by their body language.

what is tough? being able to handle yourself in a fight? mental toughness? i have overcome some major shit as a child, lived in poverty, father and uncles were alcoholics, major beatings at family parties, blood splattered on walls, drugs, abandoned when i was 8 years old, being bullied, getting involded in crime when i was a child, losing my father at 16 etc...... ive overcome some tough shit for the man i am today with respect and values to others. i came out the other side running my own small business and life is good.

When u go to a country where you don’t speak English, they have cops worse then the criminals and your American passport is considered a trophy for them, then you realize how tough or not you really are.
I went to Eastern Europe for a few years in the 90s and watched some very big men who looked very dangerous get humbled and cry and apologize like like kids.
