As a classical music lover, I never though I would want an Electric Guitar... But that has changed! You really show why an Electric guitar is extremely beautiful, and an instrument to be respected/appreciated
I like it so much. This is the kind of music we have been missing since the Beatles. Thank you DanMumm...you cater to my overworked ear drums....Oh and if it's possible please watch my video responses...I really think you might have at least an opinion regarding my musical reflections.....Peace
Hey Dan, just stumbled over your version - outstanding. Usually I am very sceptical of attempted marriages between classical and modern music, but your arrangement of La Folia is among the few that truly shine. (I guess you know Jethro Tull's Bouree?) Question: Why did you base it on Corelli's version, rather than Vivaldi's? The latter seems to lend itself more easily to a Metal version - in fact, on could argue that it is Metal already in it's original score! Cheers, G.
@paul w Very interesting. I haven't received any notification about your comment. By the way... I'm very sorry, but No, you are completely wrong. This is a "Baroque madness" because It is a Vivaldi's version. And, I dont' know if you know it, Vivaldi was a baroque composer. It is like saying that The Orson Welles's version of "Caesar" for the stage was a Renaissance piece. Absolutely meaningless.
Google lo so usare anch'io.
Ti trovo inultilmente "pillicusu". Chiamala come ti pare.
Dan, one more question: How and with whom did you do the other instrument tracks? All yourself, or are there some fellow musicians? I would soooo love to see a version with the whole band! I kind of keep imagining Dave Grohl on the drums, and you could throw in Ian Anderson for some crazy flute duel with your guitar...;) Cheers, George
I guess I do. Here is something you might not yet have seen or heard - I happened to accidentially see it on TV, and you could say that it in turn has led me to your own version. So, what goes around.. watch?v=vACIn3OTK-k
..and now for the Chaconne by JS Bach or some Paganini? Why not on a classical guitar for the Chaconne like Segovia, Williams or Julian Bream? Somewhat sterile on an electric guitar? All these super fast runs with that shrill monotonous tone. 🤔
Maybe. La Folia is an old Portuguese folk dance theme, and many baroque composers made "modern" variations of it like Corelli and Vivaldi. Vivaldi's version is flashy and slightly more complex, afaik.

young snape plays a lot!
Turn to page 379 where you will find the sheet music for Rammstein.
That's a great track - brilliantly improvised and played. It's amazing how well baroque style fits heavy metal. Love it!
Dan, you're a model to me. I play guitar since 10 years now and players like you still continue to impress me. Continue your nice work.
This is beyond amazing
Who is still listening to this in 1700 A.C?
Great compositions , I love it!
A wonderful version of one of my favorite tunes of all time - I greatly admire you!
Well done! May I ask what program you used for the backing track? I like the mixture of the harpsichord with the heavy guitar.

Great vid Dan; which Parker is it? I thought they mostly used their own tremolo systems rather than Floyd Rose models...

Very nice guitar sound, especially with that harpsichord. I wonder what harpsichord program or keyboard did you use? thanks
Nice Video

Yep, it was lit but his interpretation wasn't full I feel...
Sorry, i'ma italian and I know Corelli, the name of this music is "Follia"
Folia it's the name in Spanish, it can be written as Folía, Folia, Follia, Folie, etc depending on the country and the language
@@flamboyante._ being corelli and vivaldi italians we should use "follia".
Singing Rainbow Vivaldi is Italian the song is italian it is spelled follia .
Only 1700's kids will remember this

That's Vivaldi not Corelli...
