Great vid Phil, before my first trip to Thailand I remembered reading "Private Dancer" and chuckling to myself about the protagonist in the book confidently thinking, "That guy is such a simp" and "That'll never be me acting like that". Well after my trip, I was "that guy" (without the sad ending in the book).
Yes, somebody else commented about that book. In my opinion, it’s OK but fits into the usual Thailand holiday romance novel. They all seem to have the same plot line. And it is hopelessly outdated because of the introduction of the smart phone. Thank you for your comment.
Great video - Mind you, I currently have a longish term Thai 'friend' who I see every trip and, imo, is 'different'!! Unusually, in my experience, she is completely transparent about her business model (in other words, she lets me know if she has a customer / where she is staying etc ) This works well for both of us as I like the honesty.
Tried a few times with newbies, giving advice, they need to make their own mistakes, they are love bombed and fall head over heels with the young fit girl they met in a bar, and oh yes, “she is different” but until they work out what’s going on for themselves (with loads of denial) you let the be 😊

Brilliant Phil, I could not agree with you more. By the time you are in your 50's you should be smart enough to make the right decisions without the flack from the peanut gallery. Cheers
I think it all depends on what the guy is looking for. If you're looking for real love and a real commitment, you're not likely to find it in the sex tourist areas of Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya. My Thai GF is not from any of these areas. She's educated with a master's degree, has her own car and house and comes from a family that has money. 95% of Thai women are not involved in the sex industry. You just have to know how to go about finding a good one if that's what you want. You have to also realize that every Thai woman is going to be interested in your money to a certain extent, especially because the women are often responsible for their parents as they age. So if you get involved with a Thai woman, you basically are getting involved financially in some part to the care of her parents. This is not exclusively a Thai thing but very common in Asian countries. The problem with many westerners in Thailand is that their social circle within Thailand is often very small and so they think every woman is a sex worker.
Interesting vid, Phil. Some thoughts: 1. It's refreshing to hear a Westerner pronounce "Pattaya" correctly! 2. Your girlfriends have been different, right? @@Southeastasiantravelerthanks for noticing that.
You summed up very well what happens to most UK men. And yes, their kids don't even love them.
They probably would love them more if they weren’t indoctrinated by their mothers
@@LePubPattaya I agree.
Could be wrong do not think many women wTch your channel.. if so be related lol so if any say less then 5😂❤❤
It’s lower than 5%
You said wife Jack's him off hmmm why's he leaving 555
Aha!

It’s definitely not me.
My girls different but I’m not sure that’s a good thing 😂
We’ll see where you’re going
interesting you are walking around rombo then you walked past the aussie guys bar that got his ex scammed him out of
I know Gregg, he’s made a few mistakes in life, but basically a good guy.
Midlife crisis son is bs , man buys a Porsche mid life because he can he could not when young
You’re the Car expert on here
It s necesary time b4 get in real love..
This is so true. Thank for commenting.
so there is a bar in Pattaya with no girls ( boys town ?), thinks this is a fairy tale. great story and to each his own.
Went to boys town once. Very expensive.
@@LePubPattaya was that to rent a boy or to drink 😂
@@malc2121sorry to disappoint you, but it was for a friends birthday party.
I know what you mean it can happen but if you're going to have the same girl why not play the game enjoy yourself treat her and have a great time or go to Amsterdam
Some people just like a steady relationship or relationship that appears to be steady!
Don't think it's testosterone dripping off the walls 😮
Funny stuff.
Love make yu dummie
Just enjoy non seriously
Some people like love. But, however, I am a dummie.
Have to disagree as the criticism those guys get is fair. Their nonsensical behaviour is never justified… A fool and his money will soon be parted.
It’s OK to disagree.
**Great video Phil** I couldn't agree with You more on this subject. It is "up to you" as they say in Thailand. It is up to the guy to determine if his girl is different. Hey...what is that place you're walking around? I don't recognize it.
Rhompoo Market Jomtien
@@LePubPattaya Ya...thought it might have been there. I've only been a couple of times but thought it was place I saw that "PISS BAR" before! 🤣
She is
Everyone else is lying
No lying, but not experiencing what you are.
Up to him i say.. His mates are happy in their rutt. Thinking all Thai girls are same ..
Thanks Malc
All bargirl$ certainly are! 😂
The only ones I believe that their girlfriend is different are the guys who have lost their heart (and usually their money) to a Thai woman who was born a boy...
This one isn’t worth commenting on
@@LePubPattaya yes its so true !!!
whats piss bar like ?
No idea. Never been.
@@LePubPattaya lol. thanks for the reply Phil.

You’re judging this phantom person by your own standards.
Everyone is judgmental, even if we try not to be. And my video channel is basically my opinion.
Your so wrong, not all the girls in pattaya are the same Not at all
Have you actually watched the video?
Every thing you have said is pure speculation.
What do you really know?
You are just guessing.
Please don't waste your breath.
That in itself is speculation.
@@LePubPattaya "This is completely a made up character."
You said it yourself.
Give us an example with a home town and a name.
We can take your statement seriously. Anyway, that is my judgement and not speculation.
Have a nice day.
@@PeterBrencheers Peter. Have a nice day. You’ll probably reply because you want the last comment and can’t just leave things alone.
@@LePubPattaya No you are
wrong. Let the readers arrive at their own conclusions.
Problem is some expats have been around so long, their opinion is gospel.
I'm sure all your fans will give you a like.
I recieved one and it was not shown.
This might be a new experience for you.
But I first came to Thailand in 1988.
I think I know what happens here.
Really I mean you no ill will. 😉
@@PeterBrenyou are absolutely right. It’s opinion. My whole channel is my opinion. I’m just following your argument and your opinion is that because you’ve been here since 1988 your opinion is worth more than mine. I never set myself up as an expert on anything, never. I’m wrong sometimes, but I took exception to your “don’t waste your breath “ comment. Just don’t bother commenting if that’s all you have Peter. Just go watch someone else. Cheers. Phil
What’s that saying, only fools rush in.
I was told I as a fool to buy a bar in Pattaya 8 years ago. Take a risk every now and then.
