You can Mark! I promise it's worth it. Go to church to strengthen your relationship with God and if that's your purpose that will happen. I promise you! I went back after a break and it was one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made. It was worth all the little things I had to give up. My only regret is that I didn't start taking the sacrament and focusing on my relationship with God through keeping the commandments sooner. Best of luck my friend!

I know that living the LDS standards is very hard and that alot of the time it seems as though the "blessings" that we are supposed to recieve dont seem to be there. but with faith, love, and worship... and time, we will recieve these blessings 70x7 fold. even if you arnt living the standards, try going to church on sundays and talk to your bishop. take the missionary lessons again. they will help. and all of us will always be there. loving and supporting you.

ok one thing here if just one family hates you it does not express the entire churches, our church leaders are not paid for their service and we believe that the book of mormon is ANOTHER testiment of jesus christ we also believe that the bible is the word of god... we just think he kept teaching the people after that book had ended! and our garments arnt "secret" they are SACRED its like the jewish prayer shawls they show our constant devotion to god after we are married in simple expressions
@bcharlesdad In freedom, people are able to "lobby" others, such as food banks, etc. are able to lobby for help from anyone who has the means. With capitalism, much more have the means to help, thus much more are able to receive help. Anyone that thinks liberalism and any of it's manifestations is the answer, or that capitalism doesn't do far more, is completely ignorant and blind. America became the greatest country in the world because of Conservative values.

Do you ever get out into your community, have you ever eat at a food bank? All donations of food & everything else come from capitalism, company's & people who have, & give of their substance. Been to a school lately? Most of their supplies, computers, etc. come from companies.
I wouldn't call that a resounding endorsement of capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system that is far from perfect. There are no provisions for caring for the poor in capitalism. Charity has nothing to do with capitalism. although that is what a capitalist would say should take care of the poor. I agree that the welfare state that has been in place since the 60's is not the answer, but capitalism does not make any provisions for the poor, the sick, and the afflicted in our society.
