Yeah maybe I should have just went crazy with it haha I thought I put a lot though, maybe I need to get some sonic wax for situations like this And thank you!! I appreciate it a ton
respectfully disagree with your stance on waxing lol. angle iron should only need 1, maybe 2 regular coats of a good hard skate wax (NOT candles, paraffin, etc)... esp in the summer, any more will just gum up the ledge and your skates. maybe exceptions for extremely rusty angle iron, but that's not the case here. most importantly, it comes down to your approach speed, and how you lock your grinds (i.e. bending the soul foot over a little bit).
@@JustAnotherBlader yeah I'm struggling to bend over my soul foot on the ledge like I do on the pvc coping, it takes alot more pressure to get that "angle" where the surface area is lower but when I do that I always feel like I'm going to shoot out because there is no coping to keep me in, but maybe thats just a mental thing. Whenever I skate angle iron I'm sliding completely flat most of the time which is obviously bad
Bro, your soul crushing day would be a major win day for me, don't be discouraged with that days effort! That is a great looking skatepark too, where is it located?
its called Neutaconkanut skatepark in providence! it really is such a nice park but it gets crowded after 8am so if you happen to be near by I would go during the off times haha and I appreciate that!! I had big goals for this session and didn't get to do any of them but we definitely learned something! I should have tried some of the transition though, that still scares me so much lol
@@inlineonline Thats cool. I was stationed in Groton CT in the Navy and went to Providence quite often, what a beautiful place and a great looking park! I really love the transition skating, probably from my skateboard background, plus the fact that I can skate it so much better than I can grind. Your grinds are looking great!
@@theaverageoldguy yeah you can really tell it was built by people who actually skateboard because everything is damn near perfect in terms of size and layout, half the park is an older DIY style transition park and the other half is the brand new concrete plaze style layout. You would love it on your skateboard, so much fun to have. And thank you! I'm trying to get better at grinding angle iron but its much harder than PVC for me
@@inlineonline I suffer that same problem. I have yet to be able to take my PVC P-rail grinds to the ledges at the park with any consistent success. You are doing really great on those ledges!
how is your comfort flowing the park, i find once im comfortable moving faster, i can get a more consistent slide as i will go a bit faster, also wax goes on in circular motions to fill in against all grain to maximize friction loss keep killen it
ive never skated on such smooth ground before so I was a little worried about slipping out, probably should have used 90a at most for a place like this, this section of the park was built a few months and and I'm really not comfortable at all skating park features lol I've gotta spend more time just going up and down ramps, I learned how to drop in and do 180s on ramps but havent really done it since, I think skating with my friend will make me open up more to that stuff. When I'm by myself its so easy to just do grinds over and over again
strongly believe waking up early, and just rolling around the park and being as comfy in skates as possible to the point of extensions of limbs is when the grinds will truly shine
@@MixinMum1210 yeah I tend to hyperfixate on stuff sometimes hahha but I'm starting to force myself to take more days off and not always trying to learn new stuff. Sometimes I get a bit ahead of myself lol
@@inlineonline Haha I can relate to that. I DJ and have spent hours and hours practicing. I keep saying I need to skate more, I’ve been park skating 6 months now and haven’t learnt anything yet 🤣 I’m not consistent enough!
there's a whole ass park man
I gotta go back when its not so damn hot, it was like 8am and it was already 85-90f while I was there. The transition there is perfect tho
wax a ledge like you're washing the dishes, don't be scared to over wax!

If only there were some fun transition in the shade! *hides* :)
hahahah
How many times a week do you skate?
Ask him about when he's not skating and it would be a quicker answer.
i'd say on average 6 days a week, sometimes I do 2 sessions in one day so it all adds up very quickly
