Incredible. For everyone that is waiting to build a model rr because of space issues. Look at books by Robert Schleicher on modular model railroading. You can start building now with confidence of connecting to other modules in the future. He was senior editor for Model Railroading magazine for 10 years. Good luck in matching this mans work!

Amazing work, Collin. Your layout is pretty awesome. Not just one area but the entire layout. Can I just live there and play trains all day? Ha ha The tall trestle bridge scene is my first favorite and a long list of favorites. I love the video. Thanks for sharing. By the way, that guy you at the end of the walk way scratching his head? LOL.

Hey thanks Drew! You are welcome to drop by to play any time. The little puzzled fella at the edge of the layout is a nod to the movie The Truman Show with Jim Carrey. If you've seen the movie you'll get the joke.

my goodness what a beautiful layout you have there and that is only half of it !!!!!!! wow man you do have a lot to do but it will be worth it. how big is your room and is you layout dcc or dc. from the look of the control panel i would say dc but that is just a guess. any way very nice job with all the little details on your layout also. the whole thing is really nice cant wait to see the rest in action. thank you so much for sharing.

Hi James! Thanks for the comment. You are correct the layout is DC, just never made the jump to light speed. It occupies an upstairs bedroom that measures 12'-9" x 11'-3". More information is available on the Facebook page.

@@jamesyoung1127 There is a large acces space on the left side of the room. I have to crawl under the table but once I'm there I have plenty of space everything on that side of the table is easy to reach. The left side is a bit of a squeeze. For now I don't have much access because the sheets of plywood and foam that will foam the base of the left upper deck are currently sitting on top of the right upper deck. But eventually I'll have some limited access. Look up my video, The Dark Side of the Layout for a humorous look at that corner of the layout.

Hi Collin, layout looks great! I’m also doing a N scale layout. Around 8:15 I see what looks like sidewalks being installed. Do you use the printed plastic sidewalks glued on top of the plaster? And thanks again for your videos. They are a great help

    • @collinsullivan1517

Hey Scott, thanks for the note. The sidewalks are actually thinly cast plaster. I call them plaster planks. I did a video to demonstrate how they are made. Here's a link ruclips.net/video/Cb4elhjvAGw/видео.html Later I did another video showing the installation of some of the sidewalks. ruclips.net/video/SkHVVYfL6jY/видео.html

I didn’t know your layout existed until tonight when it appeared as a random pop up on RUclips. I was just wondering about your control panel and what you were controlling with it. Is yours a DC system with block control? Switch machine control? Building lights? By any stretch your control panel was impressive, and so is the rest of the layout. Count me in as a new subscriber 😊
