Tips for all pre hardmode bosses: Hydra: I would heavily recommend the Titanstone Shield, as it can block all of Hydra's flamethrower. You can use either a mage build or a summoner build, but DO NOT use melee. The hardest part about this fight is his last head, make sure you have sea's revenge equipped for it, and ghost elixer does help a little. Use aqua sprite for this too, and if you have titanstone spellbook then use that. Also, flame crown really helps for this boss, although not needed. Leviathan: Probably the easiest megaboss, but also the most boring. Use aurora blast to deal damage, since most ranged weapons can't reach it. Keep spamming sprites, titanstone spellbook shreds this boss and yeah thats it, not much to say about this one. Aurora Twins: This is a megaboss that would be extremely difficult for a mage build. So I recommend using melee (Umbra Triscythe) or summoner (Titanstone spellbook) for this one. Frost Mask is a requirement, you can't even beat these guys without it. If you're using Umbra Triscythe, get close to Raito and Hyoga will follow, and keep on attacking them to get as much lifesteal. Do mind that Hyoga's sword attacks can fling you across the map, so to get back to Raito, use Titanstone shield and sea's revenge. This boss was def the most enjoyable when played as summoner tho. Eye of the Storm: In my opinion, easily the hardest pre hardmode boss. The battlefield is what makes this boss incredibly tough. However, if you have summons (such as sprites or titanstone), then this boss can be a bit easier for you. Titanstone spellbook is HIGHLY recommended here, as it can tank the eye's wind storm for a long period of time. However, if his wind storms direct to you, then use ghost elixer to get invisibility so they redirect back to your golems. Ring of Light is also recommended whenever the eye does the thunderstorm attack, they're very hard to dodge but ring of light makes it easier. As for drops, Hydra I would recommend getting Umbra Triscythe, a very powerful melee weapon with lifesteal. Leviathan drops suck, Aurora Twins give aurora blast which pretty much are useful against every pre hardmode boss except the twins. And Wind Glider is needed which drops from the eye.
for starting class, I recommend the melee class most. while melee is generally not that good in early game, the knight armour and knight helmet is really good, and the knight sword can also help you take down bosses way faster than other classes(except for summoner, it is op as fuck at current state of the game). while you might die a lot when trying to melee bosses, you are still very likely to kill bosses faster with melee than weapons of other classes(except for summoner)
for atlas, I recommend getting spirit of the elements, or if it doesn't work/you are just too lazy to grind for it, titanstone spellbook his hp is painfully high if you are using ranged/mage/gambler. and I just don't suggest using melee for this boss. he rarely even stay at middle, and even if he does, his hitbox is weird and you rarely even hits him.
NOTE BEFORE ACTUALLY GETTING WEAPONS RECOMMENDED IN GUIDE: you do not have to completely follow the guide as i can easily solo hydra (pre hardmode) without the required items, this is because i got really lucky fighting starfarer and got the blaster weapon, this thing deals 1k-2k dmg per blast and has like 0.3 second cooldown, ITS OP. Also charging the blaster up gives like 8k-9k dmg. so you do not have to follow the guide completely, you can also just get very lucky and get a good weapon from one of the harder bosses that you fight in the real game instead of teleporters
For people having a hard time beating hydra at mithril(its possible with enough practice but takes a long time) Be sure to have sea's revenge(use it at fire breath do note that after you use it, it has a long cooldown that you cant use it in the next breath attack in phase 1&2) and popsicle(lumen is bad i dont need to wait for a 30 heal i can get five bites out of that treat which heals me 50hp yes it heals 10 hp per bite do note it wont help u survive phase 3 breath thats why u have sea's revenge its cd alr over when its gonna use it again) your strongest sprite and any rifle that deals better dps than old construct rifle do note if you have titan shield its better makes you survive better
To dodge its raining beam attack go in circle a wide one, for giant laser attack be far from it by standing on tge furthest platform makes your sprite survive incase u use it during the attack, for fire breath phase 1&2 spam popsicle, use sea's revenge or use your shield ability for phase three use sea's revenge and spam popsicle, or use shield ability and spam popsicle(do note if you use ur sea's revenge or shield a bit early better since i think its first damage cuts ur mithril hp in half almost insta killing you Also be sure to spam dash by broken ring of light or thunder ring (broken ring of light is better i think since its a shorter dash but idk if it gives s but s does work when i try if it doesnt then ring of thunder is better for s)
for everyone that's new to hardmode (just finished this guide) You probably should get titan spellbook than spirit of the elements and than pury cross after that go to seraphim ring
Im not sure about ranged, mage and gambler, but summoner(especially those using titanstone spellbook or spirit of the elements) and melees(if you managed to get near the bosses) can lower pre-hardmode megabosses' hp at a fine speed, usually only taking ~3-5 mins for me to defeat them tho for melee, it is impossible to melee hydra and atlas sadly
I swear aurora twins and eye of the storm is really easy to cheese if you have umbra triscythe (Those people in the comments doesn't know that you can stand on eye of the storm and spam umbra triscythe to its death)
for hydra, it is recommended to equip the flame crown so you won't get the burning debuff. if you found that your weapons cannot reach hydra(namely the titanstone spellbook), you can use your titanshield/sea's revenge ability to jump under the lava. even if you are under the lava, you won't take damage unless you jump or unequip/equip any item(what I mean by unequip/equip is pressing 1-0 on the keyboard to hold out/unhold any items). but sadly, hydra's hitbox is not at his leg, so it is still quite impossible to melee hydra something worth noticing about hydra's drop is that the umbra tri-scythe have a life steal effect, so it is good for keeping yourself alive during some situation even if you are not a melee main.
actually the one that disguised as players are called disguised and the one who make the screen red and blue with a block thin body is creepy (ty trello and flaming knight lol)
The ones that disguises as players are called disfigured or also called as alternates they are not called disguised just a correction because this video is important to new players
Just a correction to the beneath guide creepies do not imitate or disguise as players, creepies are a tall black figure that is mostly composed of blocks like a minecraft ender man but with limbs. Creepies are the most dangerous Mob you can encounter in the beneath as they are fast than you and has 200,000 health they attack by hugging the player instantly killing them and sending them to the limbo, now to know if one is near you listen for a constant and high pitched static sound that means one is near, if it is closer to you you're screen will turn red and the static sound gets louder at this point just reset because there is no point in running or fighting back because they will get to you before you get to kill them or get to run away keep in mind that it insta kills you. To survive such an encounter use an item that buffs you're speed tremendously or use wind rider to jump high because they don't rly jump very high this tip is only for when you hear the high pitched static noise they make. If you're screen turns red you have no option but to reset FAST or you will waste time in the limbo. Now another Mob that spawns in the beneath is the disfigured also known as an alternate these are the ones that disguises themselves as players even copying they're user name so it is advised to shoot every player you see acting weird or is just full on running at you as it may be a disfigured if you don't want to waste time shooting every player you see watch the appearance of every player if they have equipped Armour, accessories, or weapons then it's a normal player but if you see non of those try to shoot at it and see if you can dmg it because in bcw you can't kill players as there is no pvp they will also send you to the limbo like the creepies. To know if a disfigured is near you they will make a high pitched noise almost like a weird whistle. The disfigured are quite weak they are slow and has less health than the creepy but they're skill to disguise themselves as players can catch you off guard and kill you then you get sent to the limbo so becareful and pay attention to every player you see. A tip to get rid of these mobs while mining in the beneath is to use summons or nuke weapons.
The sounds that creepies make if they are near you are more like a buzzing sound and not rlly a static sound just didn't know how to describe it as english isn't my first language
Rank 14K player here (dont ask why i watched this i was bored), I decided to leave this comment to share my opinions and correct some parts of the video so others have a better idea what's good for pre-hardmode and clarifications on some things. 2:36 You can actually skip this entire part by redeeming a code called M1N1NG, which gives you a Darksteel Pickaxe. It's able to mine everything up to Viridis which makes it unnecessary to craft a diamond pickaxe. Keep in mind you still will need every pickaxe besides Darksteel to craft the Pickaxe of Balance, which will come way later. 2:39 If you manage to find a Benedictus and kill it with the Excalibur, you can get a stronger light source called the Illuminating Prism. Unfortunately you can't equip it, only hold it around, but the amount of light it gives off is much stronger than the Lantern. 3:13 BL@D3 and 2KLIKES have already expired. As for R1NG and SL1M3, they are still redeemable. 5:57 Quick note that for helmets, you will need every helmet down to Tungsten to craft an Adamantite helmet or the Atlas Mask. Alternatively you can farm Atlas for the Atlas Mask to drop, so you don't have to waste money trying to craft it. (Also forgot to mention, this applies to Gauntlets and Devastators as well!) 6:40 These are actually two separate entities that exist in the beneath, the one that disguises as you are called Distorteds (also known as Alternates or Skinwalkers). However they are pretty weak and easy to spot as they screech when you get near them and it barely resembles you (or someone else in the server). If you die to the debuff it gives you when taking damage, you will get sent to Limbo. As for Creepies, they're tall, dark and skinny figures that sit in the same spot until you get close. When close enough, you might start hearing a humming sound coming from them, and if you keep going closer or attack them, they will start to chase after you. This will make your screen go red and break your Geolocator if you have it equipped. If they manage to get to you, they will grab you and kill you instantly, which sends you to Limbo soon after. 7:09 Soloing megabosses in pre-hardmode *IS* possible with the summoner class. Titanstone Spellbook and Spirit of the Elements do the trick well, but if you don't have either you can still use Aqua and Thunder sprites as they're still decent compared to the rest of the sprites. For Atlas you will probably have to use Titanstone Spellbook as Spirit of the Elements has a difficult time trying to reach Atlas' head, which is his main target point for summons. This will most likely get nerfed soon because of the rework that the devs have revealed. 11:45 The Aurora Spellbook is an OK weapon, however it's really only good utility wise. It homes in on enemies, which can be used in the Beneath (or alternatively the Null Maze) to get an understanding of what general direction an enemy is in. Aurora Blast can also be useful for Leviathan, as it's able to pop its bubble attack which most newer players struggle with. And that's about everything I have to say for this guide. I might come back and make another type of these once the Hardmode guide comes out, so look out for that

tbh before the update which nerfed eye dramatically, leviathan was the easiest (though its the most boring which im pretty sure you should know why because it only uses one or two attacks, has no music and has an excruciatingly high amount of hp) oh and wind dancer used to be one of the best legendaries in the game, it nullified all damage you took. for tips from a player with a pistol: Hydra when the boss uses the fire breath attack, block with f and then deal as much damage as possible between the attacks, fire breath is one of the most dangerous attacks it can use. hydra jr sucks rn but lets hope the torment mode comes out so we can get the upgrade Eye of the Storm just uhh jump around the platforms and attack the eye as much as you can, i have no good tips other than that wind dancer used to be so good but it got nerfed, now its just not used at all. Leviathan again its still the most boring as you dont deal much dps to it, most weapons' range are not long enough to hit leviathan when its farther away, save for the sprites and tsunami even though sprites have horrendous speed for it the legendary is horrible even at the point you get it, hell, even the ship is better in my opinion. I'd it is best to farm aurora twins due to their low hp pool.
but again, I recommend you to defeat atlas and get all the materials to craft the money temple portal(khrysos temple). every single enemy in there drops a hell ton of money.
or you can just use a macro then afk
I do not reccomend going to beneath with out a good summon
Why?
*creepies spawning left and right up and down*
@@shoeskode136 I never really see them. just spam sprites/titanstone spellbook and you should be mostly fine.
@@fungaragun8065 first time when i went on beneath solo i got swarmed by creepy after creepy

Tips for all pre hardmode bosses:
Hydra:
I would heavily recommend the Titanstone Shield, as it can block all of Hydra's flamethrower.
Leviathan:
Probably the easiest megaboss, but also the most boring. Use aurora blast to deal damage, since most ranged weapons can't reach it. Keep spamming sprites, titanstone spellbook shreds this boss and yeah thats it, not much to say about this one.
Aurora Twins:
This is a megaboss that would be extremely difficult for a mage build.
Eye of the Storm:
In my opinion, easily the hardest pre hardmode boss.
Here’s an alternative: craft spirit of the elements (yes I know it’s hard but if you do you can shred pre hardmode)
you need to defeat atlas for titanstone
Yo why i can't summon things in eye of the storm?
Beneath@@ya1ya757
for starting class, I recommend the melee class most.
while melee is generally not that good in early game, the knight armour and knight helmet is really good, and the knight sword can also help you take down bosses way faster than other classes(except for summoner, it is op as fuck at current state of the game). while you might die a lot when trying to melee bosses, you are still very likely to kill bosses faster with melee than weapons of other classes(except for summoner)
BL@D3 2KLIKES SL1M3
R1NG
1KLIKES
for atlas, I recommend getting spirit of the elements, or if it doesn't work/you are just too lazy to grind for it, titanstone spellbook
his hp is painfully high if you are using ranged/mage/gambler.
and I just don't suggest using melee for this boss. he rarely even stay at middle, and even if he does, his hitbox is weird and you rarely even hits him.
Summoner class is really good spider staff is good for new players to shred bosses skeleton staff to get cash and more
nature biome's nympha(the boss) also drop nature's garland, which is good if you are going summoner
Listening to this while fighting a hard boss is super effective, it boosts your skill level by 20%
For people having a hard time beating hydra at mithril(its possible with enough practice but takes a long time)
Be sure to have sea's revenge(use it at fire breath do note that after you use it, it has a long cooldown that you cant use it in the next breath attack in phase 1&2) and popsicle(lumen is bad i dont need to wait for a 30 heal i can get five bites out of that treat which heals me 50hp yes it heals 10 hp per bite do note it wont help u survive phase 3 breath thats why u have sea's revenge its cd alr over when its gonna use it again) your strongest sprite and any rifle that deals better dps than old construct rifle do note if you have titan shield its better makes you survive better
To dodge its raining beam attack go in circle a wide one, for giant laser attack be far from it by standing on tge furthest platform makes your sprite survive incase u use it during the attack, for fire breath phase 1&2 spam popsicle, use sea's revenge or use your shield ability for phase three use sea's revenge and spam popsicle, or use shield ability and spam popsicle(do note if you use ur sea's revenge or shield a bit early better since i think its first damage cuts ur mithril hp in half almost insta killing you
Also be sure to spam dash by broken ring of light or thunder ring (broken ring of light is better i think since its a shorter dash but idk if it gives s but s does work when i try if it doesnt then ring of thunder is better for s)
it is not much, but before obtaining the lantern, you can hold your aug for a little bit of light
I soloed each megaboss with a tsunami which took about 30 minutes per boss which was extremely painful

Most accurate comment
for everyone that's new to hardmode (just finished this guide) You probably should get titan spellbook than spirit of the elements and than pury cross after that go to seraphim ring
Then*
I'VE WAITED FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!!! LET'S GOOOOO!!!
Im not sure about ranged, mage and gambler, but summoner(especially those using titanstone spellbook or spirit of the elements) and melees(if you managed to get near the bosses) can lower pre-hardmode megabosses' hp at a fine speed, usually only taking ~3-5 mins for me to defeat them
tho for melee, it is impossible to melee hydra and atlas sadly
thank you, now I can finally beat Archmage!
I swear aurora twins and eye of the storm is really easy to cheese if you have umbra triscythe
(Those people in the comments doesn't know that you can stand on eye of the storm and spam umbra triscythe to its death)
For the leviathan drops I really like the tidal spear thingy cuz it has insane dmg/speed/range
for hydra, it is recommended to equip the flame crown so you won't get the burning debuff.
if you found that your weapons cannot reach hydra(namely the titanstone spellbook), you can use your titanshield/sea's revenge ability to jump under the lava. even if you are under the lava, you won't take damage unless you jump or unequip/equip any item(what I mean by unequip/equip is pressing 1-0 on the keyboard to hold out/unhold any items). but sadly, hydra's hitbox is not at his leg, so it is still quite impossible to melee hydra
something worth noticing about hydra's drop is that the umbra tri-scythe have a life steal effect, so it is good for keeping yourself alive during some situation even if you are not a melee main.
Does hydra global drop?
Tip: knowing terrarias progression and boss spawning methods help a lot
actually the one that disguised as players are called disguised and the one who make the screen red and blue with a block thin body is creepy (ty trello and flaming knight lol)
The ones that disguises as players are called disfigured or also called as alternates they are not called disguised just a correction because this video is important to new players
Dont forget to use ice mask when fighting the twins it will help you to not get stun locked
I’ve had to restart this game 3 times…and every time I do AS SOON AS I JOIN Steve/archmage starts fighting me and it takes 10 minutes to kill them
Just a correction to the beneath guide creepies do not imitate or disguise as players, creepies are a tall black figure that is mostly composed of blocks like a minecraft ender man but with limbs.
The disfigured are quite weak they are slow and has less health than the creepy but they're skill to disguise themselves as players can catch you off guard and kill you then you get sent to the limbo so becareful and pay attention to every
player you see.
(Also forgot to mention, this applies to Gauntlets and Devastators as well!)
6:40 These are actually two separate entities that exist in the beneath, the one that disguises as you are called Distorteds (also known as Alternates or Skinwalkers).
I might come back and make another type of these once the Hardmode guide comes out, so look out for that
Dude ,pls share the wisdom of cheesing the beneCRINGEctus in solo, this kamikaze berserker destroyed my -reality- twice T_T

both if you have enough materials because you need to use em for special drops on the final hit from hm megabosses but ill let you find out yourself

use speed potions from the codes, they are useful to reach cannons so they don't get destroyed before u reach them, use ring of light too, and once u activate a cannon don't stay there, try to get somewhat far from it so the enemies that spawn don't target the cannon, and once you see in the chat "planetary bombardment" use your shield, last thing is to bring 3 players or more with you.

tbh before the update which nerfed eye dramatically, leviathan was the easiest (though its the most boring which im pretty sure you should know why because it only uses one or two attacks, has no music and has an excruciatingly high amount of hp)
oh and wind dancer used to be one of the best legendaries in the game, it nullified all damage you took.
for tips from a player with a pistol:
Hydra
when the boss uses the fire breath attack, block with f and then deal as much damage as possible between the attacks, fire breath is one of the most dangerous attacks it can use.
hydra jr sucks rn but lets hope the torment mode comes out so we can get the upgrade
Eye of the Storm
just uhh jump around the platforms and attack the eye as much as you can, i have no good tips other than that
wind dancer used to be so good but it got nerfed, now its just not used at all.
Leviathan
again its still the most boring as you dont deal much dps to it, most weapons' range are not long enough to hit leviathan when its farther away, save for the sprites and tsunami even though sprites have horrendous speed for it
the legendary is horrible even at the point you get it, hell, even the ship is better in my opinion.
Hyoga and Raito
this is the hardest out of the 4 but manageable nonetheless, just dont get hit by the ice swords and use titanstone spellbook, you will thank me later when you use the spellbook.
the legendary sucks but if you get it you could get its' upgrade at the endgame point
