Mars, commonly known as Mars Bar, is a variety of chocolate bar produced by Mars, Incorporated. It was first manufactured in 1932 in Slough, England by Forrest Mars, Sr. The bar was sold in two different formulations. In its original British version the bar consists of caramel and nougat coated with milk chocolate. An American version of the Mars Bar was produced which had nougat and toasted almonds covered in milk chocolate; later, caramel was added to the recipe as well. The American version was discontinued in 2002, and then revived the following year under the name "Snickers Almond".

    Fun facts:
    1. The twirl bites are a spin off of twirl bars.
    2. When Cadbury was sold to an American company recently the recipe was changed to make it cheaper worsening the chocolate.
    3. Twirl was the only chocolate product to keep the old recipe because the new one couldn’t fold like that.
    4. The waxy texture you commented on was how all Cadbury chocolate was and was something that was lost in the new recipe.
    5. The Cadbury dairy milk was voted Britain’s favourite chocolate.
    6. Cadbury used to put sawdust in the chocolate to make them more crispy.
