As noted by George Fox, William Penn and more recently Liz Nicholson, Quakers are colonizers, ie, we took & take other peoples’ land for our national selves. The USA claims to have begun “the great drama of the decolonization of this continent” in 1775, but from England, never aknowledging that USA simply extended England’s colonial empire onto the original people & territory of Turtle Island. ‘Decolonizing Quakers’ takes up the question, What do (we) imperial colonizers owe back to the people whose land & labor we took?
