Pickpocketing in Russia is not even close to what you experience in New York, in the US in general and in Europe. Yes, you don’t want to be careless but trust me…
Sooooo funny that ALL Westerners ALWAYS stress the wrong syllable in ANY Russian name. VLAdimir, FedoROVna, NEEva, ROmanov... C'mon Americans, you just gotta be kidding... VlaDEEEmir, NevAAA, RomAnov, please remember it and stop screwing up the pronunciation.

Saint Petersburg is named after the saint, Saint Peter.
Not Peter the Great.
Ol Plaga SaNCT Peterburg.
I’m is russian.
2:19 "and the sculptor based it on his death mask"
Are you from USA? From what town you are?
Peter's tomb looks average in size considering he was "6'7"
Wow, I didn't know that. Especially back then he would've been a giant.
@@EileenAldis peter was literally a "larger than life" character 😊. Elizabeth i think was around "5"10". If i am.not mistaken Peter had 2 sons named Peter and Paul who died when they were kids
@@ddiesel1836 The catherdral is named after St. Peter and Paul. Peter the Great had 2 sons Alexey (was 28 when he died) and Peter (died at the age of 3). Alexey had a son Peter II.
@@Handjan where did he get thr Paul ?
@@ddiesel1836 what do u mean "where"? Two saints Peter and Paul. Their feast day is 29 of June in Catholic/12 of July in Russian Orthodox.
What?? You didnt see metro??? )))
We also liked being above ground because we could look around and see lots of stuff :) When you only have 72 hours every minute counts haha Would love to take the metro another time.
@@EileenAldis
I see ) the metro there is very atmospheric and comfortable, sometimes walking and using the metro can be seen more than on the bus, but I agree that this requires a little experience, or better say requires a little preparation in advance))) Anyway, you v done great job for your 72 h )) Some people try to fit Moscow in that 72 h xD
I have never been pickpocketed and I think it is very sad that pickpockets choose a church to do their "business". Glad you warned viewers.
Yes, unfortunately they're attracted to all the tourists here. Hope your not-being-pickpocketed streak continues!!
Pickpocketers in St.Peters are still alive?
And where do the local police see?
Im from another part of Russia and I havnt heard of them for about 20 years now.
I dont believe that they could be there.
You've been just told that they should be there and you believe it.
The thiefs come from all places to the touristic objects, not necessary only from Russia, i have seen some "strangers" at WC2018, i think they're eternal, as their "job".

Eileen Aldis
@@EileenAldis OK, I see.Come in the summer, it will be warm and beautiful.Unfortunately, there was no snow in the winter. PS take care of yourself.Good luck.
Definitely some really beautiful architecture and displays everywhere in that Peter & Paul Cathedral. The mosaics church was super fascinating. I couldn't imagine how long it took to be fully built, that's incredible. PS, did you & Marc make the boat on time, to get out of Russia ahead of when you absolutely had to, besides the rain? Guessing by the responses you did, although possibly just barely perhaps. I'm betting the race to catch the boat out of Russia might be/might have been worthy of a video in itself, for what everyone faces in trying to get out of there ahead of the 72-hour deadline.
Elizaveta! Not Elizabeth...
