This video describes what I'm going to do later today to fix my issue with my MK5 Golf GTI that has a Valeo alternator that isn't charging.
Did you fix your problem by replacing the carbon brushes that caused no charging?

Why are you cutting the plastic parts off of the cover?
What brushes are they?
Hi mate, The brushes can be found on EBAY & to what i can make out virtually the whole Valeo range use the same brushes, I have just received mine this morning.
