Sometimes I feel a Little behind. I am 46, single, no kid and with my friend and family it seems I am a big teen ! I’m ok with that. I am in peace with myself and pretty much happy with my life. I do believe everything happens in the right time and place and truly I have no regret. I’m just glad I grew up without internet and social media.
Congratulations for looking much younger than you actually are! And yes i know what you mean. Iam 38 and finally moving to my first really nice appartement! Everything is new and a little luxerious for me! Iam sure for others not really! The last 10-15years i was more living a student life. And now iam a real adult😂 it doesnt mean i didnt work, i always did a lot besides University. I think nowadays a lot has change, the generation grew up with social media and made millions of Dollars and we living this normal 9 to 5 job life🙈 i think its very brave that you try a new carrer, good luck with that. I always dream for a bigger life (that doesnt mean i need millions of dollars) its more, having the freedom when it come for working and having good money and having the freedom of travelling the world and beeing you own boss!💚 i have the same definiton of success, i dont need a lot of money, a big house or an expensive car, for me its not important! I think a buddism monk is a very succesfull person, he is very centered and doesnt need any material things. So its always the way of perspective!!
aww thank you! 😊 Congratulations on upgrading your life and moving into your first apartment! I agree that so much has changed and even the way people make money is so different with social media. We do share the same definition of success! I'll take freedom over fame or millions. And yes a buddist monk is also successful in my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective with me and for watching this video! Best of luck with everything.💚
Thank you for sharing. I’m turning 39 and feeling quite lost. I’m looking for positive role models who are further along in life and perhaps living less conventionally. ❤ Your story and demeanor inspire me.
Thank you so much for your kind words ❤️ I’m sorry you’re feeling lost at the moment. I completely understand as I’ve been through periods of feeling lost myself. What’s helped me the most has been embracing who I am and reconnecting to my inner child’s desires. 🤗
I'm also single with no kids, I started painting in my late 30s, now I'm 42 and working on becoming a fulltime artist. sometimes I feel a bit behind, because it's a different life I live than others. But I'm fine with that. I just want to enjoy life and doing the things I enjoy.
Thank you for sharing. I understand how you feel completely. It’s wonderful you’re working on becoming a full-time artist! Wishing you amazing success. Thank you for watching! 💛
Thank you for talking about something I think most people are afraid to say out loud. I think everyone at some point feels they’re behind whether they’re an artist, writer, or any field. Thanks to social media we all find ourselves comparing to others. Society has conditioned us to be more and do more. I think the hustle and grind mentality has contributed to that too of which I want nothing to do with anymore. I will watch this video over and over when I’m feeling like I’m failing xo
I'm 70 years old. One thing I've learned is that it's OK to look to others for inspiration. But the only person you should compare yourself to is yourself. Are you progressing? Growing? Learning? Is what you're doing making you happy? As to starting later in life, all that experience will make you a different artist than you would have been otherwise. And that's OK.
Thank you for this vlog. I really needed to hear it. I just turned 50 and I often compare myself to others. I fell a little lost, and this vlog post gives me some hope.
Thank you for sharing. I’m happy knowing this vlog helped you in some way. Turning 50 felt like a huge turning point for me. In the end the journey is yours to live whatever that looks like. I wish you the very best! Thank you so much for watching!
I appreciate your honest reflections (and your art is always sooooo nice!) At the and when you are putting on your yellow sweater as you shared your wise words - it was almost like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (do you know this show? Growing up in France, maybe not?) But anyway, that's a big compliment. Or I'm intending it to be. Happy, reflective, encouraging, with the "You can be who you want to be" attitude. ☺ I could relate to being "behind" but in a lot of ways, I'm thankful for that, as you also noted. I think I'm just a "forever explorer" and I'll probably never go as far as someone who lives in a straight line - but I will have experienced a large swath of life and considered lots of thoughts about lots of things, and I prefer that, I think. Not much point in comparing lives because we are all leading pretty individual ones, I think - but we have the opportunity to bring others along and join friends on their journeys - to me it's just a big world of (mostly) great people with limitless views about life!
The reference to Mr Rogers is a wonderful compliment, thank you! 😊 I love that you thought of that. I am familiar with him/the show from being a nanny in the US for a year in my late teens. Thank you also for sharing your perspective. I love hearing about how other people view life. Sounds like we're both explorers of life!
I can't say I've ever felt behind in life but I've never wanted the traditional things most people seem to want and that can definitely bring its own issues.
Thank you for sharing. That's good you've never felt behind. Knowing that what you wanted wasn't the traditional path was a gift. Thanks for watching as always!💜
def not good for a person's mental health to compare their art journey to someones else, it never ends well. we are all at different stages in art and life, and should not worry that things are not done by a certain age
its def easier to not compare yourself to other artists as you get older and get more confident in yourself tho. ive never cared what skill level i was at compared to other artists but now I am more likely to tell someone putting another artist down to shut up and sit down (ok maybe in a bit harsher language 😝)

For sure one of the benefits of being older. 😃
