"When you don't like something it's often because you don't know much about it." I love this. To me, it's so meaningful. This doesn't just apply to things like bed sheets and colors. People too. When you don't know something about someone you often judge, mostly in a negative way, but take more time to learn more about that person and your view will change. I also love how you dry your sheets over the banister. I've been wanting to hang my things over a drying rack for some time and now, I'm motivated to move faster. Your videos are enjoyable

I cried with the last part about the baby. I had a good friend I lost contact with then recently was able to see him again. He and his wife had a miscarriage and it made me so happy to see them have a healthy baby. I learned another of my friend also had experienced miscarriages and it happens more than we know. I definitely feel blessed like in your videos to be able to have such diverse friend groups and just cherishing the friends around me.

Thank you for sharing the experience your friend had with her pregnancy. It's really interesting being an artist on top of having a baby. Our baby came last week and like your friend I was hospitalized and could not move around during the final weeks. The final month of the pregnancy was extremely scary and I had to literally slow down. I think more people should know about these challenges in order to help other women to navigate the emotions. It can be hard emotionally to handle when you hear other women have mostly problem free pregnancies. I had life threatening issues that led to me being in the hospital prior to her birth. I'm thankful our baby is healthy. I also experienced creative block through my pregnancy as my body handled the stress of my health issues and tried to sustain life. I'm a painter but I had to accept I couldn't create as much and it made me do more art that was intentional. These challenges can always become something positive. Thank you for your beautiful videos and the experiences you share with us.

08:08 at uni they taught us to place ur washi tape on ur clothes first before u put it on the paper. This way it wont rip your paper when u pull it off :)

Yes, pregnancy and giving birth is traumatic experience to say the least but it's worth it when you see your baby after it all. It is also a fulfilling experience...a lot of emotions.

Mbah Syafi'i pemilik rumah ini sebelumnya meninggal di ruang tamu. Istrinya dibunuh ketika menyapu halaman siang hari. Mbah Syafi'i dibunuh di ruang tamu di malam hari. Istrinya Mbah Syafi'i itu dikubur di ruang tengah rumahnya pak Marno. Waktu itu saya melihat ada cahaya peti mati disitu. Namanya kasuraga. Nggak ada lampunya di ruang tengah. Kacanya gelap. Gentengnya nggak pernah copot atau turun. Padahal genteng rumah saya sering bocor.
Hi Valerie, for removing the tape I once saw a hack and I am using it since then. It works most of the times :) . What you need to do before applying it on the paper is unwind the length of tape you need and softly stick it to the sweater, trousers, etc and press gently. Little pieces of cloth will attach to it, so it won' t be that sticky. Afterwards, stick it to the paper and thanks to those little cloth pieces it will be easier to remove. :)

Valerie, I love your videos , I have one question on what you said about learning and avoiding things you don’t know about - I want to make videos for social media, but that is not one subject- it means learning camera angles, compositions, camera movements, storytelling, type of shots, etc. just thinking about it makes me want to avoid it Plus there is too much information on each topic it’s endless. I guess my question is - what to do😢

Love your channel it’s so calming and relaxing. I just feel like we’re hanging out together creating art. I just moved into my first apartment this year and I was also very proud and excited! I have a question, that is more for you than for me. I have watched all your videos, and am responding to all of them with this one comment lol. You value self knowing, it is a power and gift that we can afford ourselves to navigate the sometimes abstract landscape of life with more clarity and efficiency.
Have you heard of the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator) 16 Personality Types? There is one type that falls into the +-1.5% of the population, hence very misunderstood, and when look from self outward can feel like on the wrong planet. I suspect that can explain a lot as to why one can feel so different and find it difficult to connect to others.
I am of this type and identify with what you say, don't say, feel, think as if consciousness is connected and I hear you as an echo of my own soul (I apologize if that sounds odd). The inner voice that guides you is what I feel is Intuition and this is so misunderstood and hard to explain even by those who navigate life from such place.
The knowing without knowing how one knows, the "everything is connected", the big picture understanding of even suffering is necessary, being growth oriented, to want to impact humanity positively, the ability to see own darkness and be comfortable with it, to look there and find value, the insufferable curiosity, need to understand things deeper than the general concept of deep, to make sense of us, our existence, purpose, the thinking outside of the box, not conforming, the struggle with aloneness, the way the mind does not stop even when asleep, the wisdom, the feeling of wanting to be connected to old, traditional values yet wanting to find new, more effective ways of doing things, to question the norms, to find ways, problem solve, learn one lesson in one place and able to apply it almost everywhere, the how it is possible to feel as if know someone who is a stranger, or to foresee outcomes, profound realizations, epiphanies, insights that come from seemingly nowhere break-through's etc.
Check it out, bear in mind if you do find yourself in that type, that not all information on the internet would fit as people speculate from theory having not been exposed enough to the type to understand it very well, the ones that do, sometimes nail it and can offer that gift of feeling seen by a stranger or providing words to the how's of how we are, the why's.
I feel vulnerable saying all of the above and if I am wrong, that is ok. I share with the intention of sharing a gift, whatever your type may be. Especially your style.🥹😍 I'm following you for a longer time now and I wanted to ask if you could maybe do a video where you talk about the materials you use (especially for your oil paintings), how you prepare your canvas and what you use as a primer (this jelly thing you use for the canvas) and explain how to paint with oil, so like your techniques and your style. I'm a beginner to oil and I'm scared to start because I'm kind of overwhelmed by the amount of materials other painters tell to use. Especially this terpentin? which I really don't want to use. And I noticed that you don't use it and paint just with linseed oil. So my point is I would love to see a video where you just talk about that and on how to improve. 🥹🫣

About the washi tape you can use the hair dryer so the glue will get melted and the washi tape will be easy subtraced.

Hi valerie 🥺hope you doing well ، I have never been in online friendship before but it is kinda cute to see your videos from time to time and listen to your speech , which makes me laugh and burst in tears , those emotion that you can only experience chatting with that one old close freind or that’s what I thought . I mean as you said earlier people can gift you a new perspective so thank you .
Quick Tipp for removing the tape: 1. before applying the tape to your paper, stick it on your pants then remove it when there are some fibers on the tape (this will make the tape a little bit less sticky on your paper so that the paper won’t rip when pulling it off, don’t over do it tho since you don’t want the paint to flow underneath.)
2. When removing your tape apply a little bit of heat with a hair dryer then slowly pull on the tape while going over the area with the hairdryer
3. always remove the tape slowly and grab the tape where it’s nearest to the paper and not at the very end of the tape
