Gunter Netzer is blonde too. He was the 1st German player at Real Madrid. Madrid recruited him as a response to Johan Cruyff joining Barcelona in the same year (1973). Netzer and Paul Breitner were parts of Madrid success in mid 70s.
Paulo Futre until today says the 2 best foreign players with whom he played were Rabah Madjer and Schuster. Not going to count AC Milan players because his knees were done at the year he was there.
Bernd Schuster would be a Barça legend if he wouldn't have abandoned the team after being substituted in that Seville's European Cup final against Steaua in 1986. He left in a taxi without talking to anyone and never came back. Barcelona lost by penalties. He stayed in Barcelona for another couple of seasons (the one after the final he wasn't even listed as a punishment and didn't play a single game) but it never was the same. And to top it off he signed for Real Madrid when he finished his contract in 1988. Such a shame after 8 years at Barça, of which 6 were amazing. He was very talented but also a very troubled man.
he was the only player of all time, that plays for bbarca, real and athletico,he plays with maradone in barca as a tandem and was votet from the spanish fans as the best foregn player ever,he marks goals for all clubs
No...he was the classic "Spielmacher" or playmaker...the 10. Back then the Top teams had a playmaker as central midfielder who had free reign. Often a defensive 6 who would compensate for the offense only style these playmakers had. Schuster was the heart of the team....long distance passes, fast short passes....free kicks....corner kicks....the classic 10 didn't do defensive work. Of course there were exceptions like Lothar Matthäus...who played as 6, 8 or central offensive 10 behind the two strikers. But players like Diego Maradona, Bernd Schuster or even Krassimir Balakov were organizers and passing machines. In today's football....De Bruyne has this style...Luka Modric. In today's time there's often two 8s....the classic interceptor (6) like Dieter Eilts, Gattuso or Javi Martinez is pretty much gone.
Imagine if this dude hadn't left the national team when he did... West Germany could've easily won at least two out of the three consecutive World Cup finals they reached without him!
Der Blonde Engel. It inspires me to compose XI blond haired. Here it is : Oliver Kahn Berti Vogts - Ronald Koeman - Bobby Moore - Andreas Brehme Bernd Schuster - Bastian Schweinsteiger - Bobby Charlton - Gunter Netzer Karl Heinz Rumenigge - Jurgen Klinsmann Reserve : Peter Schmeichel (GK) Guido Buchwald (CB) Morten Olsen (CB) Karl Heinz Schnellinger (LB) Soren Lerby (MF) Uwe Seeler (FW) Preben Elkjaer (FW) Horst Hrubesch (FW) Manager : Rudi Voeller I place him as the manager instead of as a forward, because it's difficult for me to find a great blond-haired manager Note : - I am not really sure whether Philip Lahm is blond-haired or not. - I will instruct Voeller to bring on Hrubesch in 2nd half when my team is trailing and seem to be able to score only from crossing. Full of Germans, but pretty good, right ?

Mathaus was the perfect example of an overrated player. Ich glaube es ist einfach ein persönlicher Tick von dir. Vielleicht behauptet auch dein Vater das selbe aber es ist einfach faktisch falsch...
Absolute legend who can play as attacking midfield, central mid as well as a sweeper..just like Zbigniew Boniek of his time
Yes
One of the very best players of the 80's.
Besides all the success he had in Spain, he also won the European Championship with Germany in 1980.
then followed a major falling out with the DFB and coach Jupp Derwall.
When you consider Germany went on to make 3 World Cup Final's in succession in 1982, 1986 and 1990 you have to think he really blew a chance to win possibly multiple World Cups
He's been my idol back then!
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best German football player for the last 50 years.
Lothar Matthaus??????
I am over 40 and this guy is the most talented german player I witnessed
Sebastian Deissler had that same skills like Schuster but was always injured before WC or EC.
Then he became mental problems.
What a shame.
@@lesterpaul9657 dont know about him also schuster have some head issues too for instance he refused to play 88,86 and 90 tournaments and I strongly believed i schuster didint bitched out, germany would win at least one more trophy during those years and defineatly matteus would be considered as role player instead of leader in that german national team :) schuster was the skillest german I ever seen but he was not my favorite one my all time favorite is Littbarski...
@@kafici Yeah, Litti was great too.
You have to know about the guys ruled the german football association in that time to understand Schuster.
A bunch of ignorant conservative tosser.
Was the same after the 1974 WC win.
Beckenbauer, Breitner, Müller, Grabowski refused to play again for germany because of the same guys.
Breitner returned in 1982.
@@lesterpaul9657 you mean the great köln-munich conflict during 70's and 80's yup I read about that on tony schmachers book :) speaking about german players in my opinion, fritz waler is your legend, kaizer is footballing diamond and german football's ''the special one'' is this ''mule face :) ruclips.net/video/EDO3SOVH2go/видео.html
Un súper clase, menudos pases largos que daba, milimétricos. Y las faltas, a la escuadra casi siempre.
the player whose second nickname inspired me for my band name. classy!
amazing to see the DFB had no idea how good he was or how to handle him / find a spot for him.
this goes down a long list of failures the biggest football association (memberwise) has come up with n doesn't even know how to manage it's national team nowadays.
Ozil, Müller, Hummels, Boateng, Roland Wohlfarth, Andreas Thom, Effenberg, Löw, Trautmann, Lehmann, Kahn, ter Stegen just to mention a few issues over the last decades without even trying to think
His wife wanted 1 million from the German football federation at a time were the players basically played for free at the national team.
I do agree the DFB has been shit. But as yannick said, hardly an option with 1 million.
pure class midfielder
Les allemands au Real
Netzer, Breitner , Stilieke, Shuster
Shuster was thé best
I remenber him so well in Atlético de Madrid with Paulo Futre.
Top 3 teams in Spain and always controversal.
Amazing player. Thank you for the vídeo
The man was a powerhouse
Top 10 de los mejores futbolistas Europeos de la historia.
Uno de los jugadores más inteligente y elegante de la historia.
Best German player ever. Period.
Why he stopped coaching? I like it the way his Getafe played
Gunter Netzer is blonde too. He was the 1st German player at Real Madrid. Madrid recruited him as a response to Johan Cruyff joining Barcelona in the same year (1973). Netzer and Paul Breitner were parts of Madrid success in mid 70s.
You forget Stilieke
@@yabe84 You can find my mention of Uli Stielike elsewhere in this comment section. Here, I only talk about blonde players.
@@lexsoft3969 Paul Breitner so ?
@@yabe84 I didn't say Breitner was blonde. I said he was part of Madrid's successs in 70s alongside his fellow, Gunter Netzer who was blonde.
Paulo Futre until today says the 2 best foreign players with whom he played were Rabah Madjer and Schuster. Not going to count AC Milan players because his knees were done at the year he was there.
Einen sehr langen, genauen Pass nennt man in Deutschland noch heute einen "Bernd-Schuster-Pass".
Nein
I came here because of guardiola interview with rio ferdinand
with him, Germany would have won more international cups. Imagine the midfield Schuster-Matthaeus
Un monstruo.increible
He was a monster !
This player was the "Rivaldo" german, very similar skills
he was the only player of all time, that plays for bbarca, real and athletico,he plays with maradone in barca as a tandem and was votet from the spanish fans as the best foregn player ever,he marks goals for all clubs
Miquel Soler also played for each one
Angel? He looks like a viking. A mad berserker.
thats what he was dude
see my ansver
He was key in dismantling the Dutch in 1980 Euro clash. Along with Alofs.
Ce draci avea pe el. Sanki, suste, la misto
4 copa del reys in a row is crazy. With Barca, Real Madrid, and Atleti
A Big Big Big player,wonderful.underrated.and money lover, sad to love that much money.no principles.but what a player.
Never seen him play but it looks to me like he defined the role of the box-to-box midfielder.
Best German soccer player in history....
was für einen Spieler war Bernd!
Der Schuster war ein richtig Guter.
Der Beste. Aber zu wenig Arschkriecher für Jupp 1982 und Franzl 1986
¡Un jugadorazo!
Imagine if this dude hadn't left the national team when he did... West Germany could've easily won at least two out of the three consecutive World Cup finals they reached without him!
Great player man
Reminds me of Laudrup
Geile Musik
Der Blonde Engel.
It inspires me to compose XI blond haired. Here it is :
Oliver Kahn
Berti Vogts - Ronald Koeman - Bobby Moore - Andreas Brehme
Bernd Schuster - Bastian Schweinsteiger - Bobby Charlton - Gunter Netzer
Karl Heinz Rumenigge - Jurgen Klinsmann
Reserve :
Peter Schmeichel (GK)
Guido Buchwald (CB)
Morten Olsen (CB)
Karl Heinz Schnellinger (LB)
Soren Lerby (MF)
Uwe Seeler (FW)
Preben Elkjaer (FW)
Horst Hrubesch (FW)
Manager : Rudi Voeller
I place him as the manager instead of as a forward, because it's difficult for me to find a great blond-haired manager
Note :
- I am not really sure whether Philip Lahm is blond-haired or not.
- I will instruct Voeller to bring on Hrubesch in 2nd half when my team is trailing and seem to be able to score only from crossing.
Full of Germans, but pretty good, right ?
great Blond-11, love it👍. If Lahm is blond, he surely belongs to that team. Top3 full-back of all-times. You would have to drop Berti.
btw did Bobby have some hair? 😂😂
His volley at 3:15 reminds me of Glenn Hoddle's two volleys : ruclips.net/video/07Q-sOJYWUs/видео.html
Both players were two-footed, passing and scoring with right and left feet of the same quality. Hoddle is my favorite of all time.
As for Schuster, after knowing his excellent display at Euro 80, I expected to watch him at WC 1982. I was disappointed he was not in the West Germany squad at that WC.
Grande talento!
I have always prefered him to Matthäus.. Imagine the two of them in the 1986 world cup vs. Maradona.. He had/has a difficult wife as far as i remember who was also his manager
Mathaus was the perfect example of an overrated player. Of course Schuster was better than him....but he was unfortunated not playing for his national team in the 80's (it was because a conflict with his national federation). If Shuster would have played with Germany in the 80's I have no doubt that the national team would have won the World Cup in 1990 and....yes, the WC of 1982. Especially in 1982, he was the best midfielder in the world
@m g It was just the other way around: Schuster was an incredible player while Matthaus never reached the level of the Blonde Angel. And I watched both of them for ten years, not like the mayority of people, who praise Matthaus but not watched Schuster at his best. Maybe you are one of them...
@m g yeah, sure. Now you're going to say that Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Messi. Go on, my friend
@@carlossimancas9867 I disagree. Matthäus was never overrated. You can ask Inter fans. Matthäus is voted top 10 player of all-time in Inter and he only played there 4 seasons. Of modern players only Ronaldo and Bergomi are rated higher. And he always performed in Germanys shirt. No way overrated.
I do agree 1982 Schuster was the best midfielder in the world.
@@peterhammer4644 Matthaus in the top ten of history in Inter? Maybe yes, but I only say that he was not as super good as many people said or continue saying. It's the same case with Toni Kross, a fantastic footballer, no question about it, but not at the same level than Beckenbauer or Schuster, both of them the greatest German players ever by far. By the way, considering that Ronaldo was injured the great majority of time he spent playing for Inter, I do not consider him in the top 10 of that club. Not in terms of regularity. And I have to make it clear that I rate Ronaldo as one of the seven best players of all times.
People don't know about Schuster. He was an in-house German genius when people thought players from that country were just efficient robots. Some of the stuff he does is up there with Ozil or Musiala or anyone that's worn Germany's shirt afterwards.
LEGEND
Top 20 central midfielder ever, sure the most underrated cause him not playing for west Germany after 1980..
