Since you are in Southern California, if you’re inclined to keep continuing, Porsche Owners Club has almost monthly track and autocross events for all levels. DK Racing School at Willow Springs is also another option for more in-depth instruction. Axcel Fast Graphics in Monrovia is a local resource for helmets, too.
Since you are new to the track, you may want to peruse the Porsche forums and look at what happened to some Porsche 911's on track day. There is money to be spent 'before' the track and possibly a lot more 'after' the track. There are plenty of threads on very expensive things that went wrong with their car and it cost them a lot of money to fix them (Blown engines, transmissions, differentials..) etc. Ask yourself if the juice is worth the squeeze before you go. Can you afford a blown engine? If not, then you might want to rethink this. Been there done that.
Incredible!

I ran into a POC member at Newcomb's Ranch a few months ago. It sounds like a great organization. Thanks for the tips!
Fun intro, Dad.
Thanks Lara!
