Another day hike, this walk worked well as I had to be in Faversham for a suit fitting at 6:30pm. So after an early start (6:30 train from Worthing) I arrived at Swale station at 9:30 ready to start walking. As soon as I could find the start point which wasn't the easiest, even though I'd been there before.
It was a glorious late spring day, around 21 degrees and I definitely caught the sun. After industrial beginnings past recycling plants, paper mills and a Dockyard, I made it through Milton Creek, where I headed up to the River Swale. Next up was Conyer Creek, the best creek of the day, I was genuinely surprised just how nice it was, especially in the spring sunshine. An added bonus was seeing a swan nesting around a dozen ducklings.
Back from there onto the Swale and past the Harty Ferry, it was then Oare Creek which joined up with Faversham Creek and eventually the town of Faversham, where I arrived in time for a couple of pints of Whitstable Bay in the town centre before my suit fitting and a three-hour train ride home.
The next legs I will definitely be wild camping, as nice as this walk was, a 6-hour round trip is too long for a day hike.
Hello, Very nice sharing 🧩🧩
Thanks 😄
Such a wonderful film showing us around Matt
The beauty of England nature
Great hike trail😊❤

Great sharing as always my friend 🙏 Like 👍 🙏🌞🙏
What a captivating coastal hike! The scenery, from industrial to rural, was a delight to explore. The abandoned boats and docks added a touch of mystery, and the sheep grazing by the riverbanks were adorable. 🐏🌊 Thanks for taking us on this wonderful journey through nature's wonders! 👏🎥🍃
Thanks so much! Hope you have a great weekend!

These videos are precious Matt. Thanks for showing us such a beautiful part of England. Loved the view at 8:20 of the boats. Sometimes its easy to forget about these beautiful places on our doorstep. And a huge bonus that you had the place to yourself!
Thanks mate, it's not quite Aruba but as you say it's on the doorstep 😄
Agreed
Awesome 🔴🟠🟡🟢💐🤩

😁
Somehow we missed the ending! That little village was adorable! Great video!
Coastal Kent is full of atmosphere. Sheppey is very beautiful in an understated, flyblown kind of way. It reminds me of Clacton and Jaywick although Jaywick is fairly ruinous these days
te dis un gran paseo que compartes

I love the bridge the way the platform elevates :D cool building that looked like lego :D nice to escape the industrial bit and make your way into the countryside :) cool to see the wreck of the boat! its so nice seeing all the sheep out and about x
Nice picture of you and your Dad at the Hide. Wow, another person, it all looks so desolate! Birds taking a pew! 😂 wow the posh apartments didn’t leave much space for you to pass through. Great section, roll on part six beaches! ❤
Yesssss bring it on! Thanks for watching, hope you're well 😁
What a beautiful day and place to go hiking. Great footage my friend, thanks for sharing.

Thank you my friend 😁
Wow ทุ่งหญ้าสีเขียวและฝูงแกะที่น่ารัก Thanks for sharing ❤

Thanks for uploading a great video today, I'm watching it well. The upbeat music that flows in the middle is always great. There is always a river or sea at the end of the endlessly walking path through the fresh fields. Like an oasis in the desert... Thank you for the wonderful video today.
Thanks so much 😄😁

Beautiful vlog. I just subscribed your beautiful channel
Nice views, great hike.
Thanks 😄
Nice one, Matt. Another series is coming to a close.😢 But I'm sure you have a few more lined up for us. You showed the back of the recycling plant. It's just a pity that people still think it's OK to flytip everywhere. Looking forward to the finale and some crispy cheese. Thanks for sharing Matt, have a great weekend.
Cheers Chris! Ohhh I've still got another 6 days of hiking yet till Kent's done 😂 the next sections should be the best, all will involve wild camps, there'll be a Roman Fort, some sandy beaches and of course the White Cliffs!
Ahh a one man show. You did a wonderful job filming yourself. Thanks for the tour. New subscriber ❤❤❤
Thank you 😁
Hi Matt!! 🖐Great shots of the bridge and a nice spring walk along the river bank. It's nice to see sheep along the shore. A very large water area. It's nice to take a break to eat in nature, isn't it? This is a nice collection of ships, I like them!! Have a nice day dear friend. 😊
Thanks so much! Food always tastes better outdoors somehow 😄
It's definitely an incredible river bank, marvelous presentation indeed !! Greetings from India.
Thanks Rupak 😁
hola amigo mio
que belllo es esos lugares que tu andas se ven tan tranquilos
Muchas gracias, es verdad aqui esta muy tranquilo 😁
That's quite the area...and them toads or frogs...those poor boys are signing their hearts out! lol Sure wish we had such areas to explore...plenty of adventuring opportunities. Bruce and Otis
Thanks Bruce and Otis, you have some amazing places too by the looks of it!
Good old Karen the boat! 😂The creek with all the boats looked very picturesque. Nice to see all the sheep enjoying the banks of the river too. Nice pic of you and your dad by the bird hide. The town of Faversham looked really attractive - loved the historic architecture. Crispy cheese! 😂👍
Thank you! It is a nice area for genteel walking 😄
Proprio un bel posto e poi un po' di mare🤙🤙🤙
😁
Muito linda paisagem. Beautiful
Muito obrigado 😁
Another lovely video from this series! Slowly getting to understand why Kent is the "Garden of England" - just flat green scenery!
Thanks mate!

'That's the path down to Sittingbourne, don't think I'm missing too much...'
I am firmly convinced, as somebody who lives in Sittingbourne, that the reason Sheppy and Sittingbourne exist is that they give each other somebody to feel superior to, and avoid the soul-crushing realisation that both of us are outshone by such well-known centres of prosperity as Dover and Gravesend.
Kudos for finding a way to make Milton Creek not look like an actual post-apocalyptic wasteland.
I'm from Sheppey and went to school in Sittingbourne so I can relate to what you said 😁 I made a video on the five worst towns in Kent you might find interesting:

Amazing Vlog Matt some good some bad some ugly parts but all the way fascinating to watch
ATB Simon
(Love the music choice this week mate 🙏🏼)
Cheers Simon, yeah I like to show the rough with the smooth to try and keep it genuine 😂
I did wonder about the "missing" part four. Thanks for enlightening me. I remember that long days walk you had on Sheppey. The path looked better maintained as you left the more industrial areas behind. Looking at some of the earlier tracks I suspect that not many use these. Those frogs sounded brilliant. Faversham was an attractive place to end this segment of the walk.
Indeed, it was much nicer after Milton Creek. Certainly not the most popular area for walking. Faversham is a lovely little town!
Back home but ready to fly again to more remote destinations 💪💪💪
Already there Eduardo 🇸🇻🇸🇻😁
@@no_soy_rubio 😂😂😂
Great Hike and a well-made Video. (SUB+LIKE) (ps. thanks for the Nuts.)
Thank you! Anytime! 🥜🍫
Awesome footage as always & epic journey Bud looking forward to more English rubbish to see on your travels lol 😂 😀
Thanks mate 😂 might do a highlights reel of all the fly tipped rubbish 😂
Why aren’t all the cars using the new bridge? There seemed to be quite a tailback. I remember your part 4 from last year! Its all coming together! Buy Karen 👋 popular spot for fly tipping! Smell either comes from the sludge or the tip depending on the wind direction. Not envying those overgrown sections. Cracking music choices! Nice looking creeks, strange to see the sheep out on them. Mmm dairy milk trail mix, these are a few of Matts favourite things 🎵 wow those frogs, i’ll behaving nightmares now..
That's a bloody good question 😂 haha I can still hear those darn frogs when I close my eyes 😂🐸
Noisey 🐸 indeed! I had a similar experience in Spain I think it was half term 🍄
Were they frogs or just noisy Spanish kids though 🤔😂
@@no_soy_rubio definitely French kids! Their parents don’t control them!🐸🐸🐸 🍄
Mmm crispy cheese ❤
I want some 😍😂
Hi Matt. I’ve just found your channel. Great videos of walking the Kent coast, but man, you put in the miles!
I’ve been doing a similar thing but in much smaller ‘bites’ as I’m old and knackered! That’s my excuse anyway! I’ve added a link to your channel on my blog.
Waiting for the next episode…!
That's brilliant, thanks Anson! Can I ask what your blog is so I can take a look?
I've been walking all my life so my legs are used to it now! I'm planning to post the rest of the Hike in August, I just got back from walking from Margate-Deal over the last 2 days!
@@no_soy_rubio Blog is walkingthekentcoast.blogspot.com
I’m looking forward to reaching that corner of Kent myself - nice scenery!
First, I thought there is no way this barge is able to get through the sallow water, but I guess it is deep enough 1:27
Oh, so there is a kayaker in GB here but what could be his destination 8:27
Nice capturing ! is this swan incubating its eggs? 8:39
Hilarious! 11:50 I thought you intentionally insert the frog sound effect but they are actually singing to YOU!
Wow, this place evokes old memories of the father-son hike then, 13:17 what? are you holding a bottle of beer?
I guess PPL of Oare knows each other, wow only 520 of the population! 14:42
Is primary economic activity in this small town fishing? 16:16 must be at low tide
I really like your paring music and footage 17:53 appreciate your time-consuming history research of Faveersham.
Your nature hike rejuvenates me through your lens. I thank YOU.
Fai buon viaggio, Matteo, Ciao
Yes the Swan was indeed incubating! And that was the real noise of the frogs 🤣 it's their mating call, I don't think they were singing to me 🤣🤣 haha no it wasn't beer, I was driving that day 🤣 fishing is more of a hobby I think these days for many people but some do eke out an existence as fisherpeople. Grazie Mille signorina K7S
@@no_soy_rubio I am glad to know you are a safe driver. xx

All the way thro I was trying to think of a creek gag. Sorry failed. It looked a good flat scenic walk out once you'd got past the fly tipping and industrial bits. Also looked like a few abandoned old boats dotted around. In parts if you'd said you was in Holland I would have believed you 😊
I was gonna go with up sh*t creek without a paddle but given it was such an easy walk it wouldn't have made much sense 😂 yeah, it's only really the North Sea separating this area from Holland
Nice one mate, one day I will drive both those bridges haha (probably when M2 J5 is finished)
Where the hell did crispy cheese come from 😂
Haha good man! Let me know when you do!
Dunno mate but I'd quite happily eat it, if such a thing existed 😂
@@no_soy_rubio Yeah will do haha. Need to do Sheppey at some point anyway with the amount of numbering changes it’s had 😂
Aye same here haha 😂
This is again a very nice video of you. It's so beautiful there. I really enjoyed watching. Many greetings 😀
Thanks so much 😁
