I grew up with late 90's Power Rangers, so I was so hype to go see the 2017 movie regardless if it was good or not-- and I was pleasantly surprised, mind you, because it was simultaneously a respectful homage to the traditional formula of the franchise (silliness and all) and an entertaining movie in itself. @@burcopresents No no- I gotta give it to ma boi up there who first posted- there's actual charm in _MMRP:TM_ even though other parts of it are definitely cringe. But _Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie_ (1997) and the 2017 remake-? Now THOSE TWO were garbage.
Its zords still look better than the over-designed crap in the 2017 movie where the makers were so lazy they didn't even make a Megazord transformation sequence. The 1998 one knew they couldn't make it perfect, but they still went for it and treated it like hype incarnate with that music and filming as though it was a big event to show them transforming. Thats passion. 2017 was just minimum effort and threw Kanye fuckin' West over what should have been Ron Wasserman.
As someone who animated 3D (and 2D) on my Amiga in the early 90s, I can say that 3D animation tools make all the difference. Inverse Kinematics existed before that Power Rangers movie, but maybe it wasn't in the animation package they used for that scene, idk. But I remember seeing nurbs and edge splines instead of polys being new features. That was pretty cool then.
the first power rangers movie is back when adults were allowed to drink while going places with their kids so I'm sure it wasn't all that bad for the parents in the theatre 😂

Spiderman Homecoming: when Peter crawls on the ceiling of his room, closes the door, goes down on the floor and the camera pans to reveal Ned sitting on the bed. Is he wired or is the all thing captured on a rotating room like in Inception?

I would like to see you guys react to King Arthur (2017). It has some interesting fight scenes where Arthur fights the bad guys with the excalibur. But they are animated in like slow motion and stuff and I would be interested in knowing how these were done. Also the boss fight at the end against Vortigen was done with a lot of effects.
I already miss Clint saying "I haven't seen this."
Fun fact, I'm one of those chalk artists. Even more fun fact, I integrate VFX into my chalk art with AR so when you look at a piece through a phone or tablet it has more composited on top of it.
Niko talking up that 2D plant growing in Vape God just after trashing on The Order's finale shot is hilarious lmao
I had so much fun watching it in theaters, it was like I was a kid again.
Wren: "We've been putting cameras on random things for years"
Me: GoPro on an arrow the first video I saw on this channel years ago.
I’m so impressed by how extra last crusade was!
Was that the first time you've seen that scene
@@literallytheunitedstatesof1842 it’s about the 500th time I’ve seen that scene and I can’t believe how much effort went into it! I always just assumed it was stop motion which is already a lot of effort
I thought Niko turning into smoke in Vape God was more impressive than the guy in The Order disintegrating.
I'm not sure if you've covered it before, but I really love the dog fight section at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. The scene when Rocket's ship comes in low right above the water looks so good.
I did not know how complex those Indiana Jones shots were! Also, putting in another request for The Frighteners, the film that gave Peter Jackson and Wetta the confidence to do LOTR!
It was pretty great to see Sam genuinely happy when he was talking about seeing a video still reach millions of views and be successful over time. It's a shame that's not what RUclips rewards anymore.
Got the feeling Jason David Frank volunteered a 100 takes of him rolling to get that perfect smooth roll animation for the Mechazord 🤣
I walked in on my older brothers watching indiana jones and it was just on that scene and I didn't sleep for weeks and still to this day this scene gives me the chills hitting childhood trauma throwback
SUGGESTION: React to the new movie Zack Snyder's Justice League, there were some major upgrades when it comes to VFX in this movie compared to the theatrical release and it was all done by the magicians at Weta Digital :D
Can they react to a league cinematic video
Hope they post a video soon! Been waiting ever since the movie got released! XD
why do you have to sound like an actual shill though?
Even though the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers movie cgi doesn’t age well, it’s still got a nice charm to it.
It doesn’t have a charm to it IMO. It’s just really nostalgic. Personally I grew up in the samurai/animal fury/RPM days of Power Rangers so maybe I don’t get the nostalgia from MMPR but yeah
@@burcopresents
No no- I gotta give it to ma boi up there who first posted- there's actual charm in _MMRP:TM_ even though other parts of it are definitely cringe. But _Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie_ (1997) and the 2017 remake-? Now THOSE TWO were garbage.
@@burcopresents I wonder what was the first season of Power Rangers you ever watched?
Its zords still look better than the over-designed crap in the 2017 movie where the makers were so lazy they didn't even make a Megazord transformation sequence. The 1998 one knew they couldn't make it perfect, but they still went for it and treated it like hype incarnate with that music and filming as though it was a big event to show them transforming. Thats passion. 2017 was just minimum effort and threw Kanye fuckin' West over what should have been Ron Wasserman.
@@EVAUnit4A Agreed, brother
The Last Crusade is genuinely one of the best movies ever made
As someone who animated 3D (and 2D) on my Amiga in the early 90s, I can say that 3D animation tools make all the difference. Inverse Kinematics existed before that Power Rangers movie, but maybe it wasn't in the animation package they used for that scene, idk. But I remember seeing nurbs and edge splines instead of polys being new features. That was pretty cool then.
There is a French comedy call "RRRrrrr!!!" that has a hilariously bad effects shot of a dinosaur at the end
the first power rangers movie is back when adults were allowed to drink while going places with their kids so I'm sure it wasn't all that bad for the parents in the theatre 😂
I'm confused if you mean they don't sell drinks at movie theaters anymore, which they do, or if they could drive drunk? Lmao what
@@bonpaoi4736 shut up
You're assuming most parents were the kind of losers who drink alcohol and can't enjoy anything unless it's R rated.
The Indiana Jones movies, the effects they did, are timeless. So good.
First 3 yes. The 4th was terrible. :-)
@@DrDiscourse Yes
I will say that while the trilogy is perfect, the fourth one is not that terrible if you give it a try. I will put it on „the mummy“ level. It has some really neat ideas and setpieces
Had the chance to try on one of the red arm guards worn by the Red Ranger in the new Power Rangers movie. The suits and helmets were made by Weta Workshop.
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!
1: Curse of the black pearl - all the skeleton scenes.
2: Dead mans chest - Krakens 2nd attack (The merchant vessel Will is on)
3: At worlds end - Lords Beckets ship getting blown to bits.
Pwetty Pwease!
you guys should check out the slow motion ship destruction scene in pirates of the Caribbean
I'd like to see you guys review "The Last Starfighter" for it's VFX.
The South Korean series Sweet Home would be great to see, with its creature effects.
Another series called Sisyphus the Myth has some great stunt fights too for your stunt people react series.
Both on Netflix.
The rooftop fight.
I love Sweet Home, but the creatures always either look really good or like they're straight from a PlayStation game.
@@mooyax That's why it would be good for this reaction series, they can compare the two.
@@DF10Productions It's the scene that starts with the one-take-looking shot in the small flat then moves out to a chase across the rooftops.
Jake's acting in that vape video was truly, TRULY incredible. 😂
You guys should react the inverted VFX in TENET!
Yes
Yep
Yes
Yes!
Absolutely yes
I love seeing them react to their own VFX. I would love more of this even if it’s just one per every other video. You deserve to toot your own horns, it’s a beautiful sound.
That scene from Indiana Jones where the dude rots away gave me serious nightmares as a kid
"He chose poorly".
Saaaame
I'm not the only one, as a kid that gave me nightmares
I wonder if the director thought about that ahead of time. Were they like, let’s give kids some nightmares? :p
Same. I still can't watch that scene to this day
Wonder women's feet are missing in the justice league movie, where she is reaching for her sword as the flash pokes it closer to her as she is falling
I'd check if you are right but I don't want to type "Wonder Woman's feet" into Google lol
That scene from Holy Grail was scary cause it’s real. Feel bad for the actress reacting to this animatronic head decaying
Yeah... Probably "it can't be that bad, I can handle it", and then it suddenly feels a little realistic, and it becomes terrifying..!
Idk I always preferred the melting scene from Raiders.
RIP JDF. Tommy was always the best Power Ranger
Guys I have unique idea for your next video. VFX artists react to paranormal activity videos. If anyone can spot a fake it's you guys. Would be nice to know how they can be faked.
monkaW NOT FAKE
@@mityakiselev lol
My friend let me introduce you to captain Disillusion. He is a VFX artist who uses his knowledge to debunk dumb viral videos
Huh? THEY ARE ALL FAKE!!!
What do you mean? They are literally all fake. There's no paranormal activity videos that aren't some lens flare, or ghosting from reel or just straight up photoshop. The first 'evidence' we had of fairies for example was just from overlaying photo plates. People have been faking this stuff ever since we had photos
The Order actually has a pretty cool set of ideas and world, but man you can feel the budget.
Agents of SHIELD. Ghost Rider, the Inhumans, the plane shots. Curious how well you think they did.
Agreed
Definitely
Awesome video again. Great job.
I was watching "Angels in the Outfield" the other day and thought the morphs when Al gets sat on were interesting. You should give it a look.
Guys, I would really like to see a breakdown of "His Dark Materials" TV Show. Everytime I see it, I'm blown away by the rendering of the daemons.
They did! ruclips.net/video/lSMG2YQPJyE/видео.html
Please react to "Love, Death and Robots: Sonnies edge"!
Yes, I loved that one. It was my favorite episode of the entire thing. I would pay money to see like a series of Sonnie's Edge
Hell the whole season in general!
Ohh man LD&R... Each episode a full fledged art project that one. Love it to the bits
I would pay money to see them review "The Secret War" I absolutely adored that episode
@@jaydenwahobin2763 That is probably my second choice after Sonnie's edge, great episode
The Mummy's 1999 mummy effects, especially Imotept's reconstruction scenes
I was born in 2004 but when I was 4 or 5 I would watch that Power Rangers movie 15 years after it came out and still loved it
I've been waiting for a power rangers episode. So happy
And sasageyo op too
That Power Rangers movie blew my mind as a kid 😂
It’s nice to see them all sitting on one couch again

Noticed at 12:31 that the suit is layered on top of the actress' face, it happens a few times in that scene actually.
Spiderman Homecoming: when Peter crawls on the ceiling of his room, closes the door, goes down on the floor and the camera pans to reveal Ned sitting on the bed. Is he wired or is the all thing captured on a rotating room like in Inception?
No, it's just not real. lol
i feel like you could cut the two probably well, one shot of him crawling on the 'ceiling' done right side up, the rest of the scene of him on the ground and cut the two together which is where I imagine they would use wires
“They’d film someone dancing and effectively trace over it”....I’m sure there’s a word for that, oh yes, Rotoscoping?!
Can we get Clint back starring as the “?mystery?? Power ranger” just like Air Heads had the mystery flavor plz
Clint is a White Mystery. However, somehow it seems rude to refer to him as leftovers.
Clint's gone bro
