Every November, sometimes even December I get the exact same feeling. Just thinking about those years from 2008-2012 and I always say, you just had to be there man. Inexplainable feeling. But now were crushing it in real life! Your 20's and 30's can be incredible if you play your cards right. Great video
Being young in the COD4 - MW2 - BO1 era is such a blessing. We were spoiled. Kids nowadays wouldn’t recognize a good game when it’s right in front of them.
I'm 30. It's crazy thinking about this game being 15 years old. How does time fly by SO fast? Still feel like my younger self at times. My nephew is almost as old as I was...cheers to all of you people. Hope everything goes well❤
I used to play Oblivon non stop in 2009. My friend used to bug me all the time about this game called MW2. I was like "whatever".. for a year...I finally listened to him and got the game. Was blown away, my 1st Cod. I made it to 10th prestige. Great times with my friend. We now play MW2 2022 all the time😂 . Great video man!👌
i may not be your exact target audience. i'm 18, a freshman in college, never played cod, and i usually watch youtube to just shut my brain off, not intellectually engage. however, your videos still really get through to me for some reason; I always feel a little more educated after watching them. not every video topic you do applies to me so I don't watch every one, but the ones I do watch are really good. keep up the good work man!
Recently turned 29 and have been feeling the same way. The days of coming home from school, booting up the xbox, joining a party chat with the boys and playing mw2, halo 3 and gta 4 are long gone. It's sad to think that, without knowing it, a day passed where it was the last time you did something you now look back on so fondly.
I just turned 22, and I definitely have that feeling seeping in as well, and it has been for probably the last two years. Especially after my sophomore year in college, life started to really get actually difficult. My grandfather died, I was now doing internships, preparing to graduate - worried about loans, living by myself someday, etc. I also think my brain chemistry has been changing. I don't have the same desires or interest as I did in video games. I can't bring myself to pull all-nighters anymore. I just don't feel like a kid anymore. Around this time the memories of the holiday magic are still fresh in my head. The last carefree winter break I had was about 2 years ago - I had no worries, just a desire to play games. I remember I sat around and played Skyrim basically all day. It was a really fun time. Now, I can't get the feeling out of my head that I'm wasting time. It just doesn't feel right. I feel old now.
Yeah I feel everything you’re saying man. Even when it’s a game I really wanna play and I’m enjoying it (which is rare now) I still get the feeling I’m wasting time. Nothing lasts forever and ya know what…..I’m actually happy with it because I’ve got the future to look forward to.
You’re just like me bro 22. We just got other priorities. I work 2 jobs and I’m in college full time and I live on my own and I have 2 cars lol. But you have to make time for what you love or else you’ll loose your self. Take care brother. Love from Houston tx
Yeah nah that’s it, priorities are just different and with that your mindset and life changes and of I believe everything in moderation is good. You take care too! Love from Australia 🇦🇺
This thing hits hard, my college life has been a ride with loosing my great grandmothers, my dogs, and friendship that end on random nights. And going back to play old cods help a bit but i think we all feel the loneliest we have ever felt. Its the holidays and the year is almost over. Lets enjoy the little we have left in 2024 and be optimistic for whats next in the future. Never forgetting who we are and those nights that made us who we are today.
Idk I think I had you beat . I went through 2 copies of mw2 and played it religiously even when black ops1 mw3 and bo2 were out since trickshotting became a thing lol
Redownloaded it from steam a few days ago it was great and nostalgic. I thought about it man it would be great to go back as a child no responsibilities and just play MW2 but I am an adult and father. I love my children and they bring me more joy than MW2 could.
2009 Call of Duty 4 on PS3 was a good time. Us Brits would get into lobbies with Americans all the time and there would be a lot of trash talking lol. I remember playing with an 11 year old kid and his father from California. Mike Myers and doing glitches were fun. COD4 era was better than MW2. That's my nostalgia.
Fellow Brit. Loved playing with the Americans. Had so many friends all around the world on Xbox live. I stopped gaming years ago, I tried playing again many years ago but it was not the same. Didn’t know anyone anymore and I think the friends is what made it fun truth be told. Have fond memories and hope kids these days experience the same thing in their own way.
29 here, 30 in January. 2025 better be the best year ever, or it'll be the last year ever. I'm overcooked, trying to get a job after college is hard. Everything really was better in the past.

That double kill @ 8:00 was insane ! I wanna say I had right around 86,000 kills & about 26 days on this. This came out when I was a freshman in high school id play everyday for hours. Still my favorite cod to This day.
Feel like your vids found their way to my recommended videos at the perfect time of my life. Going through a lot of change and found myself playing this game that brought me so much joy as a kid, and feeling the nostalgia. Hearing you speak about things the same way I feel about life is really refreshing. Keep up the good work man
I'll never forget having my whole family home for the holidays. At one point, most of them went to the mall to buy gifts, and I stayed home with nothing but time to play MW2 while having some MLG pro matches on the family laptop next to me. The feeling was so amazing, like I was getting to play and also was waiting for everyone to come home so we could eat the delicious meal I was smelling. That feeling was just pure bliss. But it's not all nostalgia, my friend and I from the time recently moved in to an apartment together in the big city, and we now get to game and eat together like we said we would all those years ago. Cheers to more good times!
I’m 29 now! 2009 all the way to 2013 was just the best for COD! I miss those days staying up all night playing COD. I remember joining so many clans. I’ll never forget the friendships I made
just wanted to say i really enjoyed this video man, and needed to hear a lot of this. found some comfort and assurance in it, and just subbed thanks buddy.
My single favorite Thanksgiving ever was when my family baked too many pies, so when my cousin came to visit for the week, we just ate pie for every meal and played MW2 for a week straight. God I miss those days.
Thanks for sharing the video. The amount of time I spent playing this game is unreal. Now my kids are asking about call of duty and they want to start playing. Talk about full circle.
I love these videos dude, I'm so tired of the brainrotten tiktok crowd these days infesting not only youtube but also games. Even BO6 barely gives room to breath anymore
I mean cod could only evolve one way. Into a faster, more spastic version of itself. Cause that’s what it is. All these new cods are just the inevitable outcome of that fundamental design. Can’t hate a game for being consistent with itself
I did have fun with the H2M mod that recently came out. Though I came to the epiphany that MW2 2009 was special for just being a huge sensation for the time. Sure we still have the game and it works, but it will never hit the same.
Me and my brother had a RUclips channel back during black ops 2 for sniping and ninja defuse compilations, we definitely could’ve used one back then too. Videos were just horrible quality with us recording off like an iPhone 4 from theatre mode then just editing dubstep over it lmao
Congrats bro, you are putting the right effort into your videos, channel will grow a lot! Nowadays people tend to watch what has more personal value to the creator... their opinions, their analysis, their thoughts, etc. and that was one of the triggers for me to click on this video! and the minimalistic thumb & title. keep up the good work.
The game is not dead. We have iw4x and plutonium. Eventually, those two will have a large player base. It includes bots too. This game could also be big if Microsoft patched the PC version, which currently has an RCE exploit. There’s a shit load of custom maps for MW2.
Been loving the videos man! They remind me of Woodys Gamertag. I took the week off work and spent a lot of time playing CoD 4 and BO6 staying up late after not playing games for the last decade. It's been a great nostalgic time.
been playing mw2 again recently on 360. I miss all the friends that used to play. It's not 2009.. or even 2014. I'm also 28 and I think we've had a lot of similar experiences. Nice nuke, way too many tubers nowadays.
Anytime I’ve hopped on Waw, mw2, bo1, mw3 I’ve had no problems finding lobbies. Have been playing those cods backwards compatibility on the Xbox since it was possible in 2016/17. Hackers? Yes but about 1/5 lobbies have a hacker in my experience. They need to keep these alive and get the word out to play these games more
No idea of many days I have on my Wii games, Terminator Salvation, GTA 4, GTA 5, RD1, MW2, BO1, MW3 and BO2 from back then since my account got banned for using cheats and j tagging in late 2014 in 8th grade. It must have been at least 200 plus days though combined since that’s all I did until I quit gaming in 2015 and started playing sports again like I use to in 2nd grade. lol I’ll definitely be making a short return to gaming when GTA 6 releases though. Hopefully I enjoy GTA 6, as I didn’t really feel anything in second semester of 12th grade when I played Red Dead Redemption 2 after coming back for 2 months forcing myself to try and enjoy it. Nothing felt the same as it did when I was 10 playing Red Dead Redemption 1 and Undead Nightmare. Oh well, I still think GTA 6 will be the best game of the 2020s and will draw millions of us back to gaming for a few months after not playing much in the last decade almost. GTA 6 will be the best game of the decade. Can’t wait!
Cod has lost its touch ever since, the games have gotten more and more arcady, and the fighting feels more informal with less of a military focus. Modern cod makes it feel like you're playing a virtual lazer quest, rather than fighting as a soldier
Played this on Thanksgiving this year, I got a nuke on wasteland in like 3 minutes. Old cross map noob toob for harriers then a chopper that just mopped up at spawn. Was fun hadn’t gotten a nuke in a decade.
I was severely amazed yesterday. I ended getting core for $1. I was very curious if anyone was even playing these 360 games online. I tried COD4 through Black Ops 2. I had no issues getting a match. Mostly all of them consist of TDM, but I got some free for all matches in Black Ops 1 (which was the game I played the most because this was the Cod game I was most nostalgic getting on launch day after school). I even tried other stuff like Left for dead 1 & 2. 2 has players, and I played a couple games, but 1 seemed dead. I also tried GTA 4, which worked as well there was one guy who wouldn’t die, so yea some hackers here and there. I thought it would be way way more. I will try more older games soon this week. It’s kind of cool all these consoles can play with the newest ones. I have a one S which was barely used by me. Heard a guy in a lobby saying he was playing on his 360, and hearing you playing Mw2 on your series X is funny. I think it’s really great. Hopefully more people can come back and play these old games online. Most 360 games download under a couple minutes.
You would think with all the youtube content everyone is making and the million comments it comes with of " oh I miss that game" it would be growing, not dying. I just got an Xbox 360 not long ago just for mw2, nfs most wanted, and oblivion
MW2 died before Black Ops was released. When IW members started leaving and failed to support the game we got hackers overwhelming lobbies. MW2 was my favorite and I had the most fun with it, but don't let nostalgia get in the way of reality.
Man this shit was lowkey depressing. Especially the Aaron Rodgers reference lol. This was my first cod game i'm 26 now and have no idea what i'm doing with my life and shit just hasn't been fun. I think you're right about MW2 making a comeback if it gets remastered.
I was at the same point 2 years ago now I’m earning 100k € a month finished my studies in finance and working at a company in Germany. Trust me brother those memories stay forever but life has more to offer. Live your life hit the gym try to earn money it will be worth it trust me. I’m still nostalgic and come back here from time to time. But never stop evolving my brother and working on yourself. I’m drunk af at the moment
The holidays aren't too bad for me. It ain't magical like it used to be but I been taking things back to basics and I have been getting that childlike feeling back. There's still hope lol
I know what you mean. Last night played all my old fav games hopped on Mcc, Mw2, bo1, Minecraft some few new games and it was a vibe. But yeah also knocking out by 11/12 is also my kryptonite now it happened to me yesterday lol
Had close to 100 days on this game. In recent CODs I maxed out at a couple of hours as it's become so so frustrating. Now I'm not even buying them anymore as they get worse and worse every year. Was looking forward to H2M a lot and then it all happened. This was also a reason why I'm turning my back on COD games.
2005-2009. Honestly the prime years of online gaming. Runescape was good for majority of that time gap World of warcraft was still good and Very social compared to now. Halo 2 pioneering multiplayer on consoles then following up with a great ending to the masterchief trilogy. My favorite part was just how social everything was back then and also how if you were a dork or a jock or emo kid poor or rich. for the most part we all got along without demeaning eachother. Lots of demeaning jokes maybe. But not always ill intentioned. I hope at the very least they just do a call of duty collection. Like halo. preferably including 1-3. But atleast cod4 to black ops 2
Be careful. When I redownloaded MW2 this year when everyone was I played for a solid 2 months until I must’ve gotten into a hacked lobby and now the game won’t load me into a map.. I can join a lobby but once it tries to load the map it freezes and makes a constant stutter noise through my speakers. I’ve tried everything to fix it and nothing has worked
Yeah 2009 to 2019 was the best 10 year decade run in history. I wish we could go back and live it again and watch ourselves from a 3rd person perspective. The 2020s are just flying by and kind of boring. Also being a 20 something year old just ain’t as exciting or fun. And I’m going on vacations I always wanted to cuz I got the money now as an adult but it just isn’t as fun as growing up as a teen with your friends.
I have 60 days played. 2009 was freshmen year of HS and had no job. 100% completion because it was fun and not manipulated like todays cod. Edit: I did have 58 days or so before the 2023 relaunch
This isn’t really the same feeling at all, but playing against bots is actually kinda fun. Plus, you can get a bunch of kill streaks really easy. I’ve been vs bots in 2019 and it’s a blast.
@@whylearntech Oh my bad, I’m on ps5. I’ve been playing 2019 and Ghosts against bots for the last year. It doesn’t require online and now that I’m in my 30s with time constraints my skill set isn’t what it used to be, so it’s good for me lol. Honestly, it might be boring for you, but some other dudes out here might like it. I call in the chopper gunner all the time now ;)
i loved a few of BDobbins's videos. Especially "Why People Are Quitting Their Job to Play Call of Duty". Differing opinions from me but brings up a lot of valid points that made me think
I have you beat. Between xbox and pc I had over 70 days played and almost 250k kills. I was really really good at that game. I could probably play the game with my eyes closed lol.
I feel you brotha, I kept clinging onto BF3 because I still love that game and its time for it to go. I think it is still playable but I just hope that with all the wokeness coming to an end we can start having decent BF and COD games. I also played CSGO alot in 2014-16 and OW1 2016-18 but sometimes going back and playing them its not the same. Here's to 2025 being a good year lol (I still cant believe it)

All of your videos are amazing. Please keep it up I enjoy hearing your perspectives!
been playing mw2 again recently on 360. I miss all the friends that used to play. It's not 2009.. or even 2014. I'm also 28 and I think we've had a lot of similar experiences. Nice nuke, way too many tubers nowadays.
This is the first COD commentary video I’ve sat through in years. Hopefully this is a good sign. Good looks.
It must have been at least 200 plus days though combined since that’s all I did until I quit gaming in 2015 and started playing sports again like I use to in 2nd grade. lol
I’ll definitely be making a short return to gaming when GTA 6 releases though. Can’t wait!
"the next version of the good ol days " im gonna live by this
saw your live cheap video and i cant stress enough how much freedom it gives you later on in life
Don’t stop making RUclips videos bro love your channel just talking about positive random shit with old school cod gameplay
All I know is nobody is going back to play 99% of the new CoDs. But these old ones? Hell yea
I’m down for the deep dive stuff. That’s my RUclips crack
Yo Tar silenced is such a beast class, it was my go to for high kill streaks.
Cod has lost its touch ever since, the games have gotten more and more arcady, and the fighting feels more informal with less of a military focus. Modern cod makes it feel like you're playing a virtual lazer quest, rather than fighting as a soldier
I try to get the same feeling when I play GTA 4 (IV, L&D & TBOGT) I miss the nostalgia from that time back then
I mean to be honest for me at least it feels like some things never returned back to how they were after the pandemic happened.
@@100xasd I’m absolutely stucked in 2019. Everyone around me has changed and moved forward…
Played this on Thanksgiving this year, I got a nuke on wasteland in like 3 minutes. Old cross map noob toob for harriers then a chopper that just mopped up at spawn. Was fun hadn’t gotten a nuke in a decade.
57 Days That sounds about right 😂
I was severely amazed yesterday.
15 years ago makes me really sad to hear that.
I’m having a hard time enjoying these games on xbox with BC. The delay is pretty rough.
I’ll never forget the feeling of getting an AC130 camping in a building at 3am at the age of 12 lol
Replaying the first borderlands game, and the vibes are STILL HERE I SWEAR 🎉❤
Well that hit harder than necessary.
Damn 100 days is wild! I hope something like H2M comes out eventually
Did you remember when it was 2009? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
i play from time to time every single year, 2 week phases. and i never run into hackers. i even find ground war lobbies all the time.
"I know what's behind that door"
I just hit 90 days on MW2 on PS3 lol. Thanks for the upload!
haha you've got me beat
@@whylearntech Forgot to mention that its also the account me and my 3 brothers played on since the game came out lol
I also did my 10th prestige legit on MW2 but I lost my account. I lost the password but man MW2 in its prime was so much fun
Go into a deep dive on something that really interest you. A hobby or cool activity you do.
I was 6 in 2009. But i get these same feelings. I was in 1st grade and so blind to everything and innocent. I wish i could go back.
People definitely want this type of content back
HAPPY THANSGIVING!
Happy thanksgiving to you too!!
2005-2009. Honestly the prime years of online gaming.
Runescape was good for majority of that time gap
World of warcraft was still good and Very social compared to now.
You a real g, keep it up
It’s not 2016 anymore.
This is the one^
great year as well
Yeah 2009 to 2019 was the best 10 year decade run in history.
I’ve been vs bots in 2019 and it’s a blast.
do you play on IW4x Pc, or how do you play against MW2 bots?
@@whylearntech Oh my bad, I’m on ps5. I’ve been playing 2019 and Ghosts against bots for the last year. It doesn’t require online and now that I’m in my 30s with time constraints my skill set isn’t what it used to be, so it’s good for me lol. Honestly, it might be boring for you, but some other dudes out here might like it. I call in the chopper gunner all the time now ;)
I was 12 years old, now I'm 20
This channel sort of reminds me of bdobbinsftw videos but significantly more consistent with uploads (and different opinions of course)
i loved a few of BDobbins's videos. Especially "Why People Are Quitting Their Job to Play Call of Duty". Differing opinions from me but brings up a lot of valid points that made me think
@whylearntech hell yeah
Thanks Hanger
To me it is between the 4 acounts about 200 plus days played
I have you beat. Between xbox and pc I had over 70 days played and almost 250k kills. I was really really good at that game. I could probably play the game with my eyes closed lol.
Thankful for this Cod commentary community
Are domination games easy to find in the US?
haven’t even watched the video but i can hear mac miller saying it’s not 2009 no more, i know what’s behind that door
i love that song. One of his last ones! I'm excited for his new album
Here's to 2025 being a good year lol (I still cant believe it)
Bro really blaming bad cod games on woke is insane 😂
@@drew2026 but they are woke and its a reason why they are terrible!
Its not 2009 but ya still playing 2009 mw2 🔥🔥🔥
