    Hello there 🙂
As a huge fan of both your youtube channels I've got quite a lot of questions which lead me to the first question:
1: Would you consider doing a Q&A? As I'm sure there are a lot of us who got a lot of questions for you 🙂
    And then:
    2. What made you move to Nagasaki?
    3. What do you do for a living exactly? To me it seems you are hugely committed to promoting Nagasaki, has it something to do with that?
    4. Do you got any Japanese literature and music to recommend?
    5. Have you ever considered giving online Japanese lessons?
    Kind regards from The Netherlands

      Hi, TheMondayChef!
      Thank you for your questions📝
1: Would you consider doing a Q&A? As I'm sure there are a lot of us who got a lot of questions for you 🙂
-> Yes! If there is a demand from the viewers, I will consider doing it (making a video?).
      2. What made you move to Nagasaki?
-> To make a long story short, I love the history and culture of Nagasaki, especially the history of international exchange and friendships.
      3. What do you do for a living exactly? To me it seems you are hugely committed to promoting Nagasaki, has it something to do with that?
-> I work as a RUclipsr and tour guide specializing in Nagasaki. I have another channel (www.youtube.com/@ngsk/) and also work as a guide on this platform (gowithguide.com/supplier/53492).
I just love Nagasaki, so I want to create a job related to Nagasaki or a job that allows me to share its charms with others.
      4. Do you got any Japanese literature and music to recommend?
-> I'm not so familiar with Japanese literature and music... but
      [luterature]
      Natsume Sōseki
He is one of Japan's most renowned authors and a writer I personally admire. Almost every Japanese person knows about him, and I think most have read his works in their school classes. My favorite work of his is "Kokoro."
      Shusaku Endo
He is also a very famous author. Many of his works feature themes of Christianity and "Christianity for the Japanese," and I have read several of them. My favorite is "Silence," which has also been made into a movie. Another work, "The Sea and Poison," was interesting for exploring what kind of spirituality the Japanese people possess.
      Other authors I like are..
Ryo Asai, Seo Maiko, Sonoko Machida, Kanako Nishi, and Rin Usami among others (They are relatively recent authors.)
      [Music]
I'm not very familiar with music. The artists I sometimes listen to are...
Yoasobi, Yorusika, Ado, Aimyon, Gen Hoshino, Utada Hikaru...?
      5. Have you ever considered giving online Japanese lessons?
Yes, actually I've considered it before as a side job, although I didn't start it at the time.

    • @TheMondayChef
      @TheMondayChef 3 месяца назад +1

@@life_in_nagasaki Thank you so much for your extensive answers!
You are doing an amazing job at promoting Nagasaki for foreigners like me. In the past it was mainly Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka that I wanted to visit but you really opened my eyes to Nagasaki 🙂
I will be sure to check out your literature and music suggestions (Utada Hikaru is pretty well known over here, also because of the series "First Love" on Netflix).
Perhaps an enjoyable fact for you but a friend of mine works in a bookstore and these days they sell quite a bit of Japanese literature. Dutch people have become quite interested in Japanese culture overall. It all started with manga and anime but now also Japanese literature and philosophy are on the rise.
Thank you again and have a pleasant day!

You may want to get a special fish filleting knife, the kind with a bendy blade. -- I like how you combine details of your domestic life with showing us little glimpses of Nagasaki, which are so interesting. Good luck with keeping the mites away! So, do you usually place sweet potato in the fridge in Japan? We're told not to put any raw potato of any kind in the fridge. It makes their flesh less nutritious, because the cold starts converting their starches into sugars. Also... how does Amazon delivery work in the sloped areas? It seems like it would be a very demanding job to be an Amazon delivery driver there! 😵

    • @life_in_nagasaki

Hi Maria! I'm not sure how to store potatoes properly... I guess I shouldn't have put them in the fridge 😂.
I'm not very familiar with the exact range that delivery personnel can cover, but at the very least, they deliver packages to the sloped area where I live. I am truly grateful to the delivery personnel.

Great video as usual, mate! That was a good first attempt at filleting the fish, and if the end result tastes good, I think that's what matters the most. Of course, you will eventually get better at filleting, but if you need any help, I'm pretty sure there are video tutorials on RUclips.
I still remember the first time I visited the shopping street that you usually go to. My first impression of the place was that it reminded me a lot of the high streets you can find all over the UK.

@@life_in_nagasaki Having a good knife would definitely help a lot. The easier it becomes to fillet the fish, the more you'll want to practise and see how much better you can get.
Yeah, I think the architecture of the buildings reminds me a bit of the pedestrian streets in Oxford and Cambridge. It has been over twenty years since I was last in the UK, though, but at least that was the 空気 I felt when I visited the shopping street.

    Si el pescado es azul,como el jurel,no le añado sal,porque ya es de sabor fuerte y salino;
    le añado alguna hierba aromática(orégano,romero,...)y un chorrito de limón,y lo envuelvo en papel de aluminio sin cerrarlo por completo;
