That FUCKING pony mod has ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS being one of the top three mods for HoI4, it's insane. Like, the level of quality actually makes me angry because it's SO GOOD but then it's FUCKING PONIES!
@@Archris17 Only those who accept, or embrace, the ponies shall have the right to enjoy its quality
@@Archris17 I am Old World Blues kinda guy but that map looked quite cool to the point that I may even ignore that it is about MLP
@@soldatox3019 That fucking mod made me come DANGEROUSLY close to actually embracing MLP and watching the show. I got like halfway through season one before I questioned what the fuck I was doing with my life.
4:29 In one of my recent campaigns, I had a vassal whose House motto was "Help Me"
That is the best possible motto! 😂 might have to steal that for some of my dynasties!
As well it should be
Introduce Help Me to I Help
@EcclesiastesLiker-py5ts A marital alliance made in heaven!
I wheezed so loud when I saw this comment! 🤣
There's an EU4 achievement called Just Die Already that you get by having a frickin ancient ruler with at most 1 stat point. JUST DIE ALREADY
Meanwhile, Albrecht Achilles dies five minutes into each game.
3:55 imagine you're playing as the woman, your husband is at home being your regent and you're on a 3 year travelling trip.
A year in the game says you're pregnant of your husband's child, and you KNOW you've not been sleeping around...
The child came with you
Immaculate conception, time to start another heresy!
Lol, that's literally what happened to me during last campaign XD
@@danielcrud9345
You haven't seen your husband in over a year before getting the message of being pregnant.
@@PerfectAlibi1 The child concieved itself
Dude with overachieving vassals wasn't restoring the roman empire, he was trying for a one world government
I had never thought of only having bastards and legitimising the best one, it's brilliant
Try not to die before you pick one. The gimmicky strats work, but they always have downsides. If you want idiot proof succession use Tanistry.
I'ma do that run next. (Probably will seduce my rivals wives as a middle finger.)
well, it comes with the "cost" of not having a spouse, so no convenient stat boost.
high stat spouse makes many of the games statchecks trivial, because you can swap even if the game is paused for random events.
@@arnesieper8332 Could just have a spouse (if male) that is too old to have children
@@LykonDrakensken aye, but that one's gonna die so fast..
hmm... maybe thats an easy way to farm additional prestige?

*Also the Holy Roman Empire to Byzantium* - “Look at those fake Romans over there thinking they’re better than us.”
I have just found a house with house with a quote, "Did i ask?"
“What are our words!” Bealon slaps Theon, “OUR WORDS?!”
“Eh, who asked?” 🤷♂️
0:16 …well, 😅. What man wouldn’t fantasize about being an emperor, with his wife as empress and his soulmate, with a multitude of children, loyal vassals, a mighty army?
Idk man emperors didn’t tend to live too long especially the further back you go 😂
@@hippieyoda1993maybe chill as a count or duke or something, most of the perks still count and if youre strong enough instead of being kingmaker you can just walk away from the nonsense without getting assassinated
3:20 Jfc, the amount of people that need to be dead for a 6th cousin PH has got to be insane 😂 I'm honestly a little impressed the game is able to track the line of succession that far down the family line.
It goes back hundreds of years in some cases. You can find Muhammad and Roman Emperors
I am actually the OP of that post and was just being an idiot, I just hid all non important rulers and the reason behind the inheritance was the HRE election
I was just playing in Iberia as the Umayyads using Wallada or whatever her name is. I got crusaded for Lyon, and do you want to know what route the papal armies went? through the straight of gibraltar (which I control on one side and my _conqueror_ husband does on the other. Yes, our _conqueror_ son will inherit both the Empire of the Maghreb and Isbaniyya), then north, right? Nup, they landed in morocco, sieged my husband's capital, then walked all the way around the med and came in through france.
I remember in eu4 before they made Gibraltar a walkable strait, after every war with morrocco, when Portugal and Spain’s troops got exiled, instead of putting them on ships, they would walk around the entire Mediterranean. So if you were playing as the ottomans you’d just randomly see thousands of exiled Portuguese and/or Castilian/aragonese/spanish troops just march through Constantinople
On my Umayyad run the Christian armies went down to the Med and spent years attritioning near Mallorca until 14k troops became 5.9k, before they actually tried attacking me.
🤣
The reason why I stopped playing CK3 and returned to CK2: Crusaders don’t know how to crusade.
@@alexanderchristopher6237Which is honestly convenient if you're on the side being Crusaded against
3:40 related to this, i was playing CK2 as the Satrap of Daylam (likely the only Zoroastrian kingdom), and as i was distracted looking at my dinastic tree, i saw that my zoroastrian mongol ruler king of northern Persia was related to the king of Georgia
3:59 I just say I brought my family with me like a Roman general
Wait you don’t do a funeral every time your character dies? I do it as like “our ruler died let’s show respect” + gets legitimacy up for the new ruler
aint nobody got time for that! *plans 15 year taxation tour*
In this economy?
Please, I have money to make.
NAH, I HOLD A FEAST WITH MYSELF AS THE HONOR GUEST ! SUCCESSION TIME.
@ both. Both is good
3:50
Fun fact: As a 6th cousin, they'd still need a papal dispensation to marry. (IRL at least)
Average Alabama ck3 player b like
Glad it’s not just in my games the pope decides to go on an adventure rather than help in a crusade
2:10 i always like to pin all characters that I start with in my castle or some first that I invited, then I'm giving them wife's and when I conquer some lands I give it to them. It's nostalgic to look after 300 years that from all 10 of them only 2 dynasties survived and one of them controls a kingdom XD
6:54 its either you let them expand or risk their wrath if you change the law 😂
The video, 7 seconds in: stutters and buffers
Me: true CK3 game play
4:50 Gotta go for von Wittelsbach; they're the ducal family of Bavaria to this day and I dont want them to hold a 200 year grudge because I didn't help out against the Habsburgs of all people
2:30 It's not that heavy compared to a full metal helmet. Regardless, crowns like that were usually only worn for the coronation ceremony and other grand occasions, they weren't a king's every day headwear. Some even had simpler versions of crowns that were basically just a much lighter ornate circlet for more every day ceremonial business (like holding court sitting on the thrown and receiving petitioners and diplomatic visitors). The German Reichskrone in particular was pretty much only used for the coronation by most Emperors, it was usually kept safe at one particular castle (which one changed during the centuries, for a long time it was castle Trifels), so the Emperor didn't even take it with him when he moved his court to other palatinate castles.

I feel like the Reichstone would be worn only for ceremonial events like the crowning itself.
“Yeah, sure, I’m economically sound and have a solid army, good knights for the most part, I’ll go crusading for Jerusalem with you, Mr. Pope.”
…
“Okay, right, Qus, okay, so, between the swamps, desert and mountains, 4 years in now, we’ve, yet to, see the holy land, we, oh, right, we’re now, -14% on the war scale. Which is great, cause last year we were -10% but I’m positive, spending 5 months besieging and then bailing, traversing the mountains and then coming back to lay siege, once again, for the 3rd time, the county of Asyut, is, a solid, action plan. Which, you know what they say, all roads to Jerusalem, go, through, Asyut, just, north of Nubia, well down the Nile. For years.”
5:57 That happened to me, too - more than once. It's funny, but it's just so frustrating when you play. I don't know why Paradox even after the twelfth full patch can't get the crusade mechanic to work - you know, the one the game is named after......
5:34 Dude I just did a Dyre the stranger game. I subjugated Khazaria, reformed Asatru, and was doing a Holy War against Byzantium for Georgia. Suddenly, 20,000 technically hostile Catholics begin pouring into Georgia. I have no idea why they were hostile, but they were in a Holy War for Jerusalem. They just kinda shimmied around in Georgia for awhile until the crusade was lost. It was so weird.
The birthday dance clips keep sending me 😂😂😂
The Dutch van der Linde character is absolutely amazing 😂
4:33 this killed me, they are vibing hard
Biggest thing that gets me is when I get an heir who’s reign has no vassal rebellion, expands the empire defeats the mongols dies and the heir with the same look and personality immediately gets a claimant war. Like my realistically I don’t think people would just disavow the wishes of the former emperor
2:29 crowns weren’t really a common day wear for a King/Emperor - usually they wore a simple diadem or circlet instead. Crowns were for special occasions only like coronations and were put on Royal head for like a quick moment. There were things like Helmet crowns for soldiers to identify a king during battle but they were lighter and much less decorated
That last one is at a pub, I remember that post!
They did wear the reichskrone! Sometimes...during important ceremonies...for as long as it was absolutely necessary
2:29 There were kids who died during the crowning ceremony because the neck broke. If you go to berlin, check the kathedral, the crypt is usually open to the public and has some innteresting storys to tell.
The answer to 6:48 for anyone who wants to find out:
I don't know if anyone's mentioned it in the comments, but it's possible to change who can declare Provincial Wars in an administrative government.
Under the Realm tab, then under the Administration tab inside, you'll find two rules:
- Provincial War Declaration
- Provincial Border Policy
The one that you're looking for is Provincial War. While it does require higher and higher levels of Imperial Bureaucracy (the Administrative version of Crown Authority), it's possible to change theses laws so that governors can only wage wars if they:
- Have Frontier or Naval Province Administration
- Have Frontier or Naval Province Administration and have to request permission
or
- No governor can wage outside wars.
As for the other law, Provincial Border Policy, it can also be useful for ensuring that your governors don't expand too much within your realm.
5:20 that is great to the power 40.
quick question here for people that know more about ck3 then me, my character got an Event with a Vision of ww1 that terrified him so much he got a debuff with -1 martial -1 prowess and a decrease in health
is this from the VICE mod i got installed or is this Vanilla XD
See this is why you have a wife who is a shieldmaiden! Then she can join you on the raids!
1:30 Wait, this is actually genius
As someone who just hooked my third, and best, son from inheritance by asking them to join a Holy Order: Yes.
Sorry Solomon, I am building tall this playthrough.
Thumbnail is still on point IRL
I need that song playing at the beginning in my life
Cara never fails to uhhhhhhh
EaW mentioned! Billions must rewatch Friendship is Magic.
Renown's easy to optimize, it's harder to choose something for flavor over just building from the core blocks.
Heroic Bloodlines (aka Legendary Watchtowers) is the only tier 5 I think is really worth bullrushing over just getting the rank 1-3 traits in a few different options. Rank 3 in Blood and Kin makes your dynasties super resillient to random plagues and inbreeding, the rest tends to flow from there.
I despise playing in Struggle Iberia, but the trees there are cool so starting in Mallorca before invading Italia to spam cities can be really fun.
WOO wish a merry christmas and happy new year cara!
Where's the party like its your birthday from?
Me Milking The Pope Every Year Because My Diplomacy And Level Of Piety Is High:
Didn't CK2 have alternative text for when your wife gets pregnant while you're at war? Just lamp shading how weird it is.
I actually thought about modding confederate partition worse(?) instead of making early inheritance easier.
2:05 literally it is real life if you are the last one
one thing i hate about ck3 is that it doesn't allow me to marry my wife as a female ruler but also have male concubines. paradox plz fix.
still cis tho
:3
Doesn't the game rule unrestrict this? If not it's a pretty simple mod
I keep hearing that people regard crusades as hopeless enterprises, but mine ein more often then that they fail...
2:40 just like the whole empire
The starting song was a bop, anyone know where i can find it?
The opening song bops, anyone know where i can find it?
If you wanna learn how to play hoi4, instead of spending those eight hours playing hoi4, just watch hoi4 videos. That's how I learned
I adore these! Do more do more
Don't hate gavelkind, but do dislike that you can't pick which lid gets what. A lot of the time, one will get a kingdom title, and another will get that kingdom's duchies, which basically guarantees a civil war.
3:57 Does the game work that way? Or does it just not distinguish if there are 2 characters separate?
7:38 every game? Nah, eu4 music puts me to sleep aside from ride forth victoriously. When I play eu4 I turn it off and pull up a playlist on RUclips in the background
I can't be the only one who thinks the Reichskrone looks like crap. That thing looks like a cheap hunk of gaudy plastic. Hard to believe anybody ever thought that thing looked majestic.
What is that dance? Guess I need to put some more hours in. :)
It can appear either:
1. In certain events during activities (feasts, festivals in grand tours, grand weddings...)
2. When a character gets infected by Holy Fire

Waiting to see one popular post on r/CrusaderKings to show up...
I was having a very difficult time following this and had to pause a lot.
1:27 yes, I do. Confederate succession is just an annoying mechanic which shouldn’t exist. You can easily overcome it by sending your every child except for one into monastery, but it’s just so unnecessary. It’s better to use that mod to actually enjoy the game.
It's historical. Also you can manage it without doing that. Power gamers like you should just play in debug mode.
@@derekskelton4187 I play this game as a tryhard. I collect achievements and look at stats of cultures, religions etc... that doesn’t meant that I should play in debug mode, which is just cheating. Confederate succession is just annoying + it is unhistorical that it lasts into the late medieval, because in my country we had primogeniture already in 11. century, which is the second start date.
