    I love when females do tool reviews because they actually read the instructions and I end up learning stuff about my tools I didn’t know before. As men we have a tendency to be “too proud” to be bothered with instructions so I appreciate your thoroughness! Excellent video!

    Mine is a couple years old, lightly used and the high-low setting switch will not stay on high. Very frustrating as I took care to clean thoroughly and store with the storage fluid and replaced the cups, etc. This is not old enough or used enough to be having issues. Paint is now leaking from the paint cup and i'm about to throw it in the trash. Waste of $300.

    Really good how-to video. I did find the Graco video and they had a good tip that if you need to return to a project within 24 hours/1-day, you can turn the tip 90 degrees and leave the paint liner. Here's the link and it is around 12:45 or 12:50 in the video. But this got me started on my project before I found the Graco video. Great job. I got the dual speed & wish I had the variable speed option.

    This tutorial is sooooo detailed and helpful. Thanks so much. I just used this sprayer for the first time yesterday and when I have it at a low speed like 4 or 5 it turns off after about 5 seconds. Maybe less. I called them to help but they said it’s supposed to stop. I don’t think they understood. It stops as if I’m shutting it off. If I have it at a high speed it won’t stop but I’m using this for furniture and don’t need it at a 10 speed. Maybe you could help me. Im not sure if I have a defected one.

    • @TheNiftyNester
      @TheNiftyNester  2 года назад

      Thank you so much, I'm glad this was helpful! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with yours. I haven't had that exact issue. I did have it stop spraying on me once but it was a clogged spray tip. After reversing the tip and clearing it out it worked just fine again. I looked to see if I could find a reason for you and I did run across something saying it may need to be re-primed. When that happens can you still hear it running like it's trying to spray or it just stops completely? I do know that these will shut off on their own when they get hot but that should take a while, I've not had that happen yet either. If it's not just cooling down, it's not clogged and it's still primed I don't know what else it could be. It could be defective. I'm sorry I don't have a straight forward answer for you but I hope that helps.

    • @salina618
      @salina618 2 года назад

      Yeah it’s shutting off completely as if I’m turning it off. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out. I’ve been emailing w someone at graco who is going to have me try and remove the tip entirely and see if it’s still turning off. If it is he said he may be an electrical issue. Thanks again 😊 looking forward to seeing your content!

    I bought this few days ago, but the pain leaks out of the cup linear and it gets air in so I have to squeez the linear my self. (I have rotated it exactly as you did to end) any idea on how to fix it?

    • @TheNiftyNester
      @TheNiftyNester  2 года назад +1

      I'm sorry, I don't know what would cause that. My best guess would be a seal leak causing air to get into the cup. I know the air release valve and rubber gasket can wear out over time and need to be replaced but it shouldn't be after just a few days. Maybe contact their customer support line and if they can't help you, you might be able to exchange it since it's only been a few days. It might be a defective product. I hope you're able to get it figured out.

    • @brianschrier6193

      Check for paint along the top of the liner. If the liner & cap dont make a tight seal, you will get leaks every time.

    • @TheNiftyNester
      @TheNiftyNester  2 года назад +1

      I've discovered that I have to thin out certain paints to get a nice clean spray. You can spray thick paints with this thing but sometimes it doesn't turn out as well. If you're using a thick paint like a one coat paint, cabinet paint or a primer then you might need to thin it out just a tiny bit. Maybe try that as well as adjusting your speed while spraying a scrap piece of wood until you get it where you want it. I still use a scrap piece to get everything right before I start a project.

    • @TheNiftyNester
      @TheNiftyNester  2 года назад

      Yes, you can. In between uses you just turn the sprayer sideways to block off the nozzle. After reading that you could leave the paint like that overnight to finish a project the next day I tried it out and it worked. I had to turn the nozzle backwards and spray for a second to unclog it first but after that it was good to go, the paint stayed fresh.

      Yes, you can use oil base paints! Check the owners manual for specifics on materials you can use, but for a short version of what the manual says, check the packaging to make sure your product is "combustible" and not "flammable". It woks with water and oil based primer, paint, and stain as long as it's not flammable.

    • @TheNiftyNester
      @TheNiftyNester  Год назад +1

      You've probably done this already, but just to make sure, have you turned the spray tip to the unclog position to see if the tip is clogged? I believe you can also use mineral spirits to clean the sprayer and run that through it which might help, just double check the manual before doing that (I think it says you can, I just don't want to give you bad info). If that doesn't fix it, you might try soaking the spray tip, then use a nylon brush to clean the spray tip. I've heard from a few people that had similar problems, tried everything to clear it and ended up calling graco customer support and they've either helped them find the problem or sent the part they needed to fix it. You might try that if all else fails, they probably have more suggestions. I'm sorry you're having problems with it and I hope you're able to get it fixed!

    This thing is a waste of money. I was using it and after the fourth container full it just quit working. I have tried everything to unplug it. It will run, but nothing comes out, no matter how much I prime it, etc...

      It has a overload process when it gets hot it shuts down but when it cools off, it’ll work again

    Why did you start with water?

      So they run something called pump armor through these before they package them. When you first open the paint sprayer you have to run water through to rinse out any leftover pump armor before using paint. You can use the pump armor to store your paint sprayer then do the same thing and rinse with water before using it again.

    Great video tutorial. I brought the DSP model to paint a wood fence. Wish me luck 😂
