Such a nice jacket! I love the fabric that TCB uses, it becomes SO soft with wear. I used to wear a pair of their 50s jeans and they fade into a great strong sky blue color. And as you mentioned, the cotton thread does wear out rather quickly. On my jeans the seams wore out in the groin and the back pockets within a year, but I think that was largely because I rode my bike quite a lot. Youll love this jacket
Dang, that cotton thread 😬 My Flat Heads are a combo of poly and cotton threads, and the cotton threads are all breaking apart after a year. I suppose the repairs will just add cool layers of character to the garment, which is a pain, but really rad in the long run….And your jeans sound incredible- makes me wanna get TCB jeans to match the jacket, but I really can’t get anymore denim for a long time so that I can give what I have the fades they deserve haha…Perhaps in the future. Cheers!
Cool to see you grab a piece from TCB! The Zimbabwe cotton is perfect for Spring and Summer here in Florida and the sloppy stitching adds to the charm.
I love your take on the sloppy stitching! That’s how I’m choosing to view it. And yeah, super stoked to try Zimbabwe for the first time! Will have to try it in the California summer and see how it scores compared to Florida haha…Been wanting to try TCB jeans for so long, but I’m glad I got the jacket to start instead.
@@thevintagefuture6567 Stoked for you to give the jacket a try. Definitely a great fit too compared to the Levi’s, maybe just a preference on my part. I’ve actually been looking for a type II repro in a shorter length like the originals to pair with higher rise jeans.
Yeah, the ultra classic roominess of the T1 is definitely not as good looking objectively. I think I just prefer it cuz of the relaxed vibe…probably will end up depending on the mood I’m in 😂 And your next jacket idea sounds good. Have you looked at Freewheelers?
I love TCB. I have their 50s jeans and the green denim work pants they did last fall. I'm not deep in the denim game, but it's just a great value with awesome details and super soft fabric. Can't beat it!
Wow, you picked up some great stuff! And as you’re saying, it’s always just the best when a product is a no-brainer purchase, where you don’t need to be an insanely devoted connoisseur just to get a reliable product. TCB is one of those fire n forget brands, I’m discovering.
The "flaws" in the stitching are intentional, whatever details in the reference jacket they copy, they include in the reproduction. Thats the case for the S40's jacket at least.
I have one of these. For the first few months of wear I’d get indigo everywhere, especially on my khakis. A lovely blue colour, very distinct from the blue-purple you get on the 60s TCB denim.
Nice! Sounds like yours is off to a great start! Those poor khakis 😂 I’m always nervous with new denim and my white shirts haha…And I’m recently learning about color casting, as they call it. The term is used in denim a lot, but it isn’t a term exclusive to denim. I’ve been told “green cast” means the undertones of the indigo will be more green-blue, whereas “red cast” will have undertones of red-purple. I much prefer green cast, myself, but I do have a few red cast garments I’ve fallen in love with. Anyways, sounds like you’re experiencing the beauty of both with your collection.
Ah ok, thanks for the clarification on that! I was wondering. I should look this stuff up ahead of time, but sometimes I don’t realize it’s a thing until I’m in the middle of filming 😂
@@thevintagefuture6567 many people also don't know that Tokyo is actually a prefecture too. It's made up of 23 wards, 26 cities, 1 district, and 4 subprefectures. "Central Tokyo" generally refers to 5 wards within Tokyo: Minato-ku, Chiyoda-ku, Chuo-ku, Shijuku-ku and Shibuya-ku.
Oh wow, that’s crazy! Yeah, totally did not know that either. I guess it is not that hard to believe, considering how a metropolis usually takes on the name of its largest city (like Los Angeles or Manila), but Tokyo seems to take that to a whole new level haha
Those are killer jackets! I’ve been trying to keep the wears even between my TCB and my Levi. We’ll see if one of them takes the lead as time goes on 😄
44 and above two side seams under arm. Size 52 and up have T back. That’s for type 2. Get berberjin 501xx and Vintage denim jackets book. Cheap and has all this information

I am rocking TCB 20 jeans now . This brand makes amazing products. Nice vid 👍
I love the TCB 50s fabric. My TCB 50s jeans are the softest jeans I own and are so comfortable over time.
Cool! I’m pretty impressed with mine. Can’t wait for it to soften even more with wear.

Great fit. Okayama is a prefecture, similar to a state in the US. So being made in Kojima and Okayama are both technically correct.

If I'm not wrong the two side seams are historically accurate on larger sizes, like 42/44 and above
Ah ok, thanks for the input on that. I had seen the T-back thing as a historical detail, but this one isn’t something I know anything about.
