True story, I met a Japanese girl in a game. We became friends. She could type English well enough. I seemed to impress her with the little Japanese that I knew. Thing is, I just thought of us as friends far apart. One day she tells me that she had to stop talking to me because she was falling for me. Her concerns were because she was an "idol" and the no boyfriend clause. She disappeared after she told me that.

Oof, sorry to hear it. At least she was honest with you, and it was nobody's fault, really. I haven't really spoken with any Japanese people at length but I've been on both sides of the "catching feelings" problem before. I think online it's even easier to do because you can idealise people or let your imagination fill in the gaps about them that you don't know.
Hopefully she's doing well. An idol though... I have a lot of mixed feelings about the idol industry. I understand it's her choice, but some of it seems pretty exploitative from my Western viewpoint.
