They don't make movies like this anymore ... no CGI, no special computer effects, no stunt doubles, no cut and paste scenes. The fight shows Northern style kung fus ( kicks, Eagle claws, Preying Mantis ) and Southern style kung fus ( Hong Family Fist, Tiger Claws, Crane Fist, Snake Fist, Dragon Claws ). Classic!
This movie has raised the bar on cinematic excellence for Martial Arts movies. I have been watching these types of movies as a kid and I must say this one is at the top of my list of all time favourites. Thanks for uploading this movie Andrew!
IMHO, this is one of the best (if not THE best) non-lethal fight scenes in all of martial arts movie-dom, in the sense that, despite all the action, no-one gets killed. It ranks up there with the showdown between Liu Chia-Hui and Yasuaki Kurata in "Heroes Of The East" (not surprisingly, another SB production directed by Lau Kar-Leung, who also directed this film).
You must love the spirit behind those fights, which look more like a chess play (move-technique // counter-technique-move + each one perfectly acknowledging the other's skills) than a street brawl... Whereas MMA fighters fight to destroy, those Artists fight to build and to reach an expression of perfection in their moves, each one pushing the other one to his limits.
so that's the difference between chinese kung fu fighting(chinese martial art fighting/ chinese wushu fighting ) , k1 fighting (kick boxing fighting )and mma fighting(ufc fighting ), right?
This is not 'quick-cut' modern day garbage. This is when guys really worked for their money. No wires, no one move quick cut, because you're really not a martial artist. The real deal from two masters.
We need action style like this come back to screen. We don't need that boring overused wired and slow-mo style that plaguing martial art cinema these days.
Gordon Lu is an incompetent kung fu practitioner. He has the weakest style of any practitioner given that he actually really studied it, he is one of the worst and i don't like his movies.
@@yodieyuh6077 Hwang Jang Lee, Chang Yi, the Long brothers and many others. Gordon Liu is very static and uses statue like exotic position to pretend he knows some unique style but i feel no power and no speed in his kung fu. I do not dislike him but i feel he is lacking.
One of the very best cinematic martial arts fight scenes ever.
Agreed 100 %
Yesss , absolute
Never will be bettered. These are classics.
One of the best films that Shaw Bros produced. Great direction and choreography courtesy of the late great Lau Kar Leung.
Most accurate Hung Fist demonstration I've seen in a movie. Love that Tid Sin Kuen
This is one of the epic ones. Really takes me back. Heck.. makes me wanna GO back to the 80s!
This is one of the all time greats!

This might be my favorite fight scene ever.
Excellent choreography👏
Had me GLUED for a min……I had flashbacks of the early 80’s ….watching this on FOX 5 NYC on Saturdays…❤❤❤❤

Another GREAT non lethal fight scene is at the end of 'My Young Aunty' 🔥

Incredible fight scene has stood the test of time and will always be worth a watch!

Long one of my favorite scenes. Awesome.
Easily top 5 hand to hand kung Fu fight scene of all time.
Yes 👍👊
rare footage of Jonny Wang actually being a "good guy". Ma Fu Yi is his ultimate bad guy roll.
This is not 'quick-cut' modern day garbage.

功夫電影詠春以敗家仔代表,洪拳則以武舘,相信以後都拍唔返,要導演識功夫,演員有真功夫,冇得靠特技同剪接

There's a rumor that there's no choreography here. The producer just told them to fight
I'm pretty sure it's choreographed. It looks a lot like one of the two man sets you learn in a Kwoon
Lau kar leung was the action director - he had a very clear vision of what he wanted - RIP
You're referring to the alley fight scene of Donnie Yen and Wu Jing in SPL.
Please can you tell me the name of this movie thank you

🔥🔥💯💪 what is the name of this movie 🔥🔥🔥💯💯
Martial Club (1981)
What is the name of this movie??????
