avant garde crossword puzzle is a great phrase I wish I could use. I can't really "do" crossword puzzles, my brain just can't think that way. I like word play and stuff but I can't see the clue and think up a word, i can see the word and clue and get why it works, it's the same with trivia.
Holy crap they're like people what a surprise that they are sort of like smart people having a conversation, now that is amazing its very enjoyable that it has nothing to do with crosswords
I’m at the point where I can just about finish the daily puzzle faster than I can boil a pot of water. Not The NY Times puzzle, mind you... that takes a little longer. If I can manage to get out of bed... that is. 🙃
The Globe was the 17th century London theatre that Shakespeare is most closely associated with. He acted there and was a part owner of it. So the cryptic clue is that he trotted around in The Globe.
at 6:23 a better one would have been "One in three of us by 2020" with us being US as in USA also at 8:15 "Henry the 5th's speechwriter" is more clever i feel like
@Geertje Kik (leerling) The funny thing is that's the first time I've ever mixed those up. I'm usually the one to catch it. Probably hard to believe though based off of the context.
I find it funny she's yet to find an industry less dominated by old white dudes yet she's in academia, really can't think of anything MORE diverse and less old and white
Words spoken out loud require enunciation. I could not understand the person on the left when their pitch dropped into a growly tone. I guess she was subconciously mirroring her colleague, but speaking in a natural pitch aids the listener. Actually, his natural pitch is probably higher, too, but his resonance was able to overcome. I would probably be muttering and rushing my words in such a scenario, so I'm not saying I would do better, but when the vid is about words, maybe the words should be heard. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it was the sound mix?
Felt like I was watching a cute first date

@@siccodewilt1 No need to be sorry! Shakespeare is commonly affiliated with the Globe Theatre in London (built by his playing company)

We couldn't even get through a 9 minute video about crossword puzzles without needlessly bringing up race.
