This update doen't really concern itself with gameplay, so I sawe no reason to talk about it.
If you want my opinion on the BMS gameplay, I overall like it. It introduced modern conventions to the HL gameplay. I am a bit disappointed in the way the Grunts operate though.
Kinda wish they'd just finish it and move on now. It's been a decade or so in the making and they just keep changing things, not to mention pushing the system requirements up and up. This game already needs multitudes of resources higher than what stock HL2 did.
I just hope their next project is to completely remake Half life 2 maps to be far more up to par.
"pushing source engine to it's limits"
And providing terrible performance issues
Unfortunatly yes, even on higher end cards youtubers, streamers, and myself struggle in the more "demanding" levels like Xen and last 3 levels of surface tension.
@@elans.8595 Because source is not originally meant to handle such graphics. And modifying engines fir graphics is usually results in bad optimization (borderlands series is a good example)
@@bobanfrombangladesh it's when it's built on an engine from 1998 when it's a problem. They're a small team yes, but they really need to learn what compromises are, instead of just pouring all their man power into an old engine. The game is gorgous yes, but I don't want to play a slideshow, I want to play a game. The game has solid gameplay, but when i'm watching combat encounters later in the game at 15 frames, that's when it because a huge turnoff.
They definitely fucked the performance up. For the money I (and many, many other people) paid, they really ought to work on optimizing it.
damm they change my favorite crossbow with glowing hot rebar to a normal crossbow ouchhhhh
Now it's time to remake Black Mesa in Source 2!
6 more years to go!
The lighting reminds me of Doom 3
0:00 oh, this looks cool!
0:05 .....nevermind, video is done.....
_leaves_
You did the right thing, I would have left too!
@@ESCalation imagine being such a dick to be noticed by the author of the video
@@p_filippouz Oh I reply to a lot of stuff, especially if I am amused^^
@@ESCalation anyway don't worry, I was joking the video is cool

I mean after knowing that Apex Legends was made using Source engine, this isn't much of a surprise to me now, the graphics are surreal now tho
remaster the remake i cant believe these guys holy shit
OOOOOH MY GOD!
Ooh, are they bringing back blood and gore sticking to Gordon's arms and weapons?
what, was that ever gone? I didn't notice!
@@ESCalation I played the 2013 build many, many years ago and remember the blood on the gloves and weapons vividly. When I replayed it after they released Xen, I went through the entire game without having that happen once and I couldn't find a setting referred to it. When I looked it up online it seemed that it was a feature they had turned off for optimization or something.
I can tell the producers of this game must be huge huge fans of the original Half Life that they’ve been putting countless efforts in it throughout these years
Why ur game fov sleeves are so good looking? Some kind of a mod?
nevermind, i already found the addon
Ok, time to replay this :D
0:06 noooooooo gordon furryyyyy
that's not freeman!
First,Half Life Mod :- Black Mesa Mod
Second,Half Life Remake :- Black Mesa
Third,Half Life Remake's Remaster :- Black Mesa: Definitive Edition
What's Next ? Half Life Remake's Remaster's Remake on Source 2 ??
.....it's gonna happen is it ?
I'm patient, i will play when they'll release the 2.0 édition, with RTX, 4k textures, improvements on models etc....
I'm quite certain that they can, and they will push Black Mesa to a Next Level.
If only Valve could send a dedicated engine team to help them push the boundaries and give them access to assets etc ...
May be i dream, but i want a Black Mesa as beautiful as one Half life Alyx 🤤🤤🤤
I'm sorry, but in the news of Steam BM Crowbar Collective said "This is the last major update." So, there will be no 2.0 and thus, no playing BM for you, sadly.
@@supersp9450 and you believe them ? This kind of statement is almost a tradition in video games's world
All the Crowbar Collective's updates are just bug fixes. If this doesn't concern you, tell me why you think this is wrong.
It's a pity they are cutting the gargantua chase scene from Power Up. It was alredy there in Half-Life 1.
Now if these guys could help the development of Operation Black Mesa bc I don’t see that coming any time soon
Hopefully this will look better then regular Black Mesa. Xen and any outside level have lots of missing textures. And some levels are too dark to play
But it depends on your pc graphics
@@superflanker972 And my graphics are s h i t
This studio should just buy the license for Half Life 3 and give us what we've been waiting for. Fuck valve already...
Bruh i hope Half Life 2 got remake and Half life 3 Release and got the new Engine
What normal people see: Oh look a cool new update
How I see it: New lag machine
1:35 Sorry to say it, but the locking of dynamic shadows at what looks like 15 - 20fps is just horrid. It really destroys what seems to be an incredible game. Is that a bug? Does this happen all the way through the game?
Of course it bug
This game is such a masterpiece just awesome.
So now Half Life 1 looks like Portal 1 and HL2 looks like HL1
Portal 1 looks like hl2 tho
Unpopular opinion: I actually enjoyed the length of the original On a Rail chapter, and wasted no time downloading the On a Rail: Uncut with the Loop mod for Black Mesa Source. I'm always disappointed that it's never officially integrated into the game like what they did with Surface Tension, perhaps not meeting the dev standards. And I'm going to guess that the Definitive Edition opts out of that too. Still wish they would at least expand the chapter in their own ways at least, as I find that Black Mesa's On a Rail is incredibly short compared to what it used to be.
Imagine it's ready in 3030 and then they like "Nah, it's so long ago from now, the videogames in 3030 looks way better than ours. We making another graphical update." and it keeps going every 10 years.
wow the is verry nice update and thx the video
>see a furry
>close the video immediately

Nice fursona man
thought this was a Black Ops 3 Zombies map.
Wonder if the team now will commence to work on Opposing force and Blue shift and perhaps Decay
There are Development teams working on those that are not affiliated in any way with Crowbar Collective: Tripmine Studios is working on the remakes of Opposing Force and Blue Shift while I can't remember the name of the one working on the remake of Decay.
It’s not pretty it’s beautiful
