I love how you kept the case intact mostly, so it's all authentic once the game starts. Now if only someone can figure out a custom case that allows you to rotate the screen.
Hehe, this is pretty cool too! Oh yeah, I watched this 2 or 3 years ago but never commented on it then. Interesting that you don't have to worry about the proper shut-down of Windows on that. I guess that MAME installation is backed up and fairly sacrificial, so that if your lack of proper shut-down eventually corrupts the system, you just reimage it and it's back for a while, or something like that. Right?
Awesome! I really liked your Mala layout and you've provided me with inspiration to make my own. Until now I was just running mame32 as a startup program. I would recommend "instantsheller" to hide the windows stuff. It hides all of the loading screens, allowing you to boot straight to the mala exe.
I used a Jamma adapter that plugged into the ORIGINAL untouched harness and I bought a repro control panel to house the buttons I added. So, to convert it back to the original Ms. Pac I simply unplug the JAMMA adapter and plug in the Ms. Pac PCB and then remove the repro Control Panel and then plug back in my original one. That's it. DONE.
Hi John, you wanna get rid of the annoying boot screen? Put in an extra pci vga card, set your boot in the bios to 'boot with pci' and your done, straight to your mala layout :-)
Hi John, can you make a video about setting up the Mala the easiest way possible. anyway, i love your videos. i just got into video games again since watching these videos by random. I started building my own Defender cab. im on a budget raising 3 children and have limited space and chose to build this as a multi game unit with mame and keep the original look of defender.. my favorite game as a child since i was 8. then i got an atari 2600 and then got out of the arcades in brooklyn of buddies arcade and amusement in brooklyn ny. still have my atari and wont part with it. what was i saying.........................oh yah......Mala Front end how to the easy way................... I thank you in advance for any reply or suggestion of a link for this request.............. sincerely, Seth
Hey tool, I still have the original PCB and control panel. I didn't do anything permanent to it. I did this very tastefully and can return it to a dedicated Ms. Pac within 5 minutes. And, a Ms Pac is not worth $1,000.
I don't know if you still respond to comments here, but I had a question. You've dealt with the 60-in-1. Was that slow? Is it better to go with a 60-in-1 or get the 412-in-1 board? Which one plays slower? Thanks!
i have version 7.4 of mala i try to install your layout and no matter what i cant get it to work please help i follow your instruction to a t and still nothing thanks for the great work and i love your videos you have a great arcade !!
@111random Well it's windows xp, so he could have added a shortcut to it in the startup folder, or added the exe directory to HKLM->Software->Microsoft->Windows->Run in the registry, which you get to by going start run (or windows key + r) and entering regedit. Though you asked 5 months ago, so I doubt this will be helpful to you now.. :(
i still cant find out where to put the videos and marquees or graphics for the main screen for each game can you enlighten me and tell me say for 1942, where i put its video and graphic so when i scroll to it on the mala main screen, it shows the pic and video for 1942...thanks

You ought to download instasheller. I think its free on the Maximus Arcade website. You can get rid of all traces of windows in your start up.

+Braden Webb The 60 in 1 is pretty ok for what it is. You'll get bored of it, though. :) The price is right , though. No experience with the 412.
