Some can't handle that and think every cover has to be note for note. Those are the ones who are not usually very musically inclined. It' would be like trying to mimic every nuance of a person's demeanor and speech pattern. Why spend that much time doing that. Understand the structure of the song and go from there

I love how he makes this one his own. Without treading or taking away from Bonhams parts. And his childlike joy behind the kit is awesome. What a beast of a drummer.
I was just about to say the same thing. I've seen so many of these where the drummers play the parts exactly. Those are great, too, but I like that Nicko did his own thing without overplaying at all.
He even makes this song sound like Iron Maiden .. Wow

@@JoeSorrentino anytime he plays those triplet like figures . and double time triplet based ride grooves over that straight four feel. that's the swing influence in there . gotta know that sound to recognize it.

you know, any time you hear Nicko play something other than Maiden, he comes across as a heavy footed jazz player, it's pretty cool how he uses his chops in another context.
