Luis Rodriguez but Minemann plays more prog than heavy metal. Anyways, they’re both happy drummers and very fun to watch playing.

Nicko is a great guy and an amazing drummer. His kind-heartedness and his tasty grooves reminds me of the late but very great drummer, Mick Tucker from Sweet. I have met both of these guys in my lifetime and both are the coolest guys you'd ever wanna meet.

I remember when I saw this video for the first time, then it was new! I am truly surprised how fast 12 years passed.....
Thinking of Nicko as just some fun-loving goof who wandered into a beach barbecue makes this excellent performance even better (and lots funnier).
When you find out what makes you happy in life you end up like Nicko playing drums.

You'll never stop learning. It's the best part of drumming. The less I play the better I get. The more I over cook it the worse I get. Guitarists run out of licks with age where drummers can keep the curve going way into old age.

He's the whole reason I play, and does a good job here, funny he was off on the first set of high-hat counts but he's aloud!! HA. Then again NO ONE will ever play it like Bill Ward in 1970...just a staggering mix of Jazz and Rock style drumming back then. Awesome!! Nicko does the McBrain version (style)
In my opinion he can keep regularly beats .The facts is that he does many backbeats that normally a drummer doesn't use also keeping the rhythm, it comes from his jazz past .

He plays ghost notes, because he tries to cover the second part of the origin Black Sabbath song, but it's not a perfect cover.
A cover is a cover, and some give their own twist to it, or can't play it perfectly. Of course Nicko could, someone from his level, but this was probably unprepared.

Plus it's not the easiest song to play. The only person who can do it properly is Bill Ward.

I was there. He has a double bass pedal because there was an opening band, and that's their drummer's kit, not Nicko's. The bass player is Dave Spitz (ex Black Sabbath, Great White, Gary Moore and more. Also a practicing lawyer). He is also the brother of Dan Spitz from Anthrax. But they don't play together anymore.
Nah. I was shaky and enjoying the music. First time I got to confront Nicko so I was quite starstruck that day.
