This is great I’m an American and darts has been in my family all of my life. I’m a darthead. I do watch your show for mma. I’m always watching you guys playing the tourneys. Thanks
Ariel!! Thank you! USA PDC fans may be few and far between but I am so excited to see you putting it out there for people to pick up. I'm so excited to watch the US Masters and hope the United States starts showing up. I'm with you, the crowd and announcers, refs, and players really drew me in and I've been addicted for the last couple of years. I watch darts in the morning and fights at night, every weekend.
Absolutely loved seeing MVG and Smith on here, Two of my favourite sports together with Helwani the best in his business. I grew up playing and watching Darts and still play now. Got a board in the garage . Great stuff MMA Fighting
This was a brilliant interview Ariel 👏 Both fascinating humble guys and some intriguing insight into both darts and their rivals... MVG is a phenomenal player and his achievements will be very hard to beat ...
So annoying that Smith and MVG underplay that 9 dart leg. It's not 'common'. This years world championships had exactly 1800 legs of darts played in total. EIGHTEEN HUNDRED. That was the ONLY 9 dart leg. And MVG also threw 8 perfect darts in the same leg. And it came in the f'kin World final.
it's not only about the 1800 legs at the world championships. Such a leg has (almost certainly) never been played in all the legs that have ever been played since the invention of the sport.
Fantastic interview. I'd love to watch documentaries on several players. When they started, why they started, who they idled, why they love it, family, most memorable experiences, personal thoughts, etc etc etc.
I didn’t know about this but only now (after following darts for about 3 months) I’m a huge MMA fan and I listen to all your MMA content so what a crossover this one was 💪🏻💪🏻
This is so amazing.. i love Ariel since i sort of follow the UFC and at times heard him in NBA podcasts but i also love darts. The merge of these people was unexpected.
I’m a rare breed who likes darts, mma, and pro wrestling. Any kind of crossover between any 3 of them… A+! Thank you for the wonderful content, Ariel!!
They should have played the 17 perfect darts clip on this. Arguably more impressive than the I CANT SPAKE and every time I watch it, I pray the last dart goes in.
I think they should expand the premier league because of what MVG said. For someone like me who watched every week. It did get a little stale latter in the season when we kept seeing the same matchup
As an American, I've been watching these guys for years. I love these guys and I love darts!!!!!!! My all time favorite player will always be Adrian Lewis.
I get the feeling Ariel likes MVG more than he does Michael ;) He is an engaging character, despite the speech impediment. WE might see MVG again on this show.
Yeah thats right matchroom promote some unusual stuff, I'd forgotten about the match fishing, watched it a few times cos I liked all kinds of fishing since I was a little kid.
Not popular but their population is so big that pretty much every sport has a sizeable community. Alot of american darts youtube channels, Canadians too. Per captia it wouldn't compare to Australia and such
Glad to see the game grow here in the US and Ariel has a great platform to boost it, but the claim that he is single-handedly responsible is unbelievably audacious and blasphemous lmao. If anything it’s a combination of viral social media clips, gambling, increased marketing, the sort of “party” atmosphere of the crowds. Ariel just right place right time. Props to him for being on top of it but outrageous take - didn’t understand the darts until this past Worlds come on bruv some of us have been out here
How do you get darts big in the US? That's the $64B question... especially when you're talking about all the things people can do, the US doesn't have the history of darts in the culture, video games, etc. I was born in '74, and my dad liked to play darts. I got my first dart set when I was 3 or 4, Accudarts with a little box that my dad made himself, I really wish I could have it today. My dad even took darts to the high school to promote not just playing darts, but also as an exercise in math (subtraction and addition). I started playing competitively at 17, and actually had the most tons in the league my first year, right around 1991/92. My doubles needed a lot of practice, and practice I did... so much I think I threw my arm out by the time I was 20. In any case, darts is a helluva lot of fun, its great competition, lots of skill... I love it. How do we get more people over here to love it? First off, steel tip darts rule, soft tip sucks, but most places in the US are afraid to have steel tip darts because, well, we're a bunch of F!@#$% morons that act like children. I like to drink when I'm playing (loosens me up, versus practicing, which warms me up), and unfortunately this leads to idiots throwing the darts at each other and not the dart board... or seeing who can hit the board from 30 feet away, whatever stupidity they can think up. And of course our complete snobbery of sports other than NFL (greatest game ever), NBA (which is a shadow of its former glory), and MLB (its eternal, but like the other two sports a shadow of its former glory), its hard to get people to play. And don't even talk about competition, which is what I live for, if someone doesn't think they're just naturally great they discard the game. Unless and until a US player storms the dart world (a Herculean task that, lets face it, ain't gonna happen, I watch videos of the best play, like you guys), interest will be absolutely zero. It's a shame, but it's also a fact. ;l
@@hhhmmmmmmmm phil never hit a 9 darter in the world championships. a few have had attempts at it but only adrian lewis and micheal smith have done it. think mvg has missed D12 like 3 times for it in a world championship final
Ariel loves darts, it's a fun little indoor "sport" he can play with his guests. Why not? Don't watch it if you don't care. I find niche sports pretty interesting
Darts is a very big sport in Ireland and is played in nearly every pub in the country - I’m not a particular fan of watching but playing it is ok with a few beers but I don’t particularly want or expect it to be on the MMA Hour as due to its name I generally come here to watch and listen to content about MMA.
I've watched darts for 30 years. Watched Ariel for ten? maybe? I can't say enough good things about this crossover. You're all legends.
30 years? Respect my man, that's 10 times longer than i do
Both MVG and Smith are absolute darting royalty. Two masters of the craft. Incredible!
This is HUGE for darts! Thanks Ariel for helping grow darts!
“That was a Dave Chisnall dart” 😂 poor Chizzy
Such a great interview. So awesome that youre pushing darts in the us

The atmosphere in the dart competitions is amazing, people laughing having fun 🙂 its beautiful to see 🤗
As someone whose first sport is darts.( county darts player) I never thought I’d see it on a podcast like this
Ariel is NEVER gonna shut up about beating Michael Smith in darts now
But he's now the new number 1.
He beat him fair and square at darts.
Great job guys. Wonderul exposure for the sport here in the United States.
Just attended the US Darts Masters at MSG. Amazing atmosphere! I’d like to see more PDC darts in North America.
