    I lived in Shanghai from 2015 - 2018. I'm actually pretty thankful I left when I did! Hindsight being 20/20...lol. I'd like to know where you got your cat? Did you find him outside or did you seek adoption?

    • @JamesandKeli
      @JamesandKeli  2 года назад +2

      We actually brought our cats from the US to China. They were adopted in 2018 as kittens 💕

      @@JamesandKeli aw very nice! I can't imagine how complicated that must've been. On the contrary, I brought my dog from China to the US and dealing with Chinese authorities on that was hard enough.

    This looks like the beginnings of HELL from a free persons frame of reference. The conditioning phase.

    First time on your channel. I was wondering if they gave you any warning to stuck up before the lock down?

    • @JamesandKeli
      @JamesandKeli  2 года назад +2

      We were given about 5 days to know we would go into full lockdown. The lockdown was supposed to be happen only for 4 days.. but we are now on day 57.

    Your meals are really amazing.James,you can't even imagine that lots of people who live in the lockdown zone are dying for the necessary food.Shanghai is and must always be a city of order.I am disappointed about the situation and can not even know when to reclaim our freedom.

    So, how if this is not going to end up any time soon? How long you are planning to wait and live like that over there?

  • @pandabearoceanpark
    @pandabearoceanpark 2 года назад +2

    "situation in this city is stable and improving, but it is not stable". 😅 I don't think you guys would laugh at this one. It's different from the system in America. Basically, either way, some people suffer. In the US, 987K+ people have died but no one official lost job over it while people grieved the loss of their family members. That's 3 people out of every 1000, not counting the long COVID people. Having said that, 997 out of every 1000 are free to move around and breath the air of freedom - and they can blame the death to outsiders. In the case of China, millions could die due to its population density, multi-generational living conditions and the fluid and rapid population migration enabled by massive transportation infrastructure. The medical system would not be able to handle it. If so many people die like in the US, there will be anger, chaos and unrest. Chinese officials would be long gone or even in jail for neglecting disease control causing death. They are being held accountable for taking control, even if there was no one died. On March 12, the mayor of Jilin City was dismissed over mere 526 confirmed cases, out of a population of 1.5 million. So a different type of response takes place: lockdown the cities to stop the spread, maintain social stability and keep the official's jobs. China is a paternalistic society - most Chinese people trust their government for their welfare, so they will follow despite the hardship, such as bankrupting small businesses - they blame the disease, not the government. Also Chinese people value collectivism over individualism - they can't comprehend the situation in the US either. That said, I wish there is a middle way - like in India, which suffered 524K death out of 1.38 billion people . How the massive number of COVID death last year in India suddenly stopped and everything returned to normal is a mystery to many.

    Do some push-ups and jogging on your balcony. Well, hang in there and look at the bright side. You at least have each other.😄

      We are doing our best to stay positive, but the reality is some days are just pretty difficult. Sometimes James will go down and do jump ropes where our bikes are, then I’ll do some workouts inside. We are thankful for each other ☺️
