Im a therapist and just bought this one for my office. Simple enough to carry a conversation while playing, developmentally appropriate and fun for a large range of ages, and short enough to play lots of rounds in a 45 min therapy session. It's cozy and the right amount of challenging.
Quarto will always be my favorite game from this series (and my favorite abstract strategy game), but this one looks interesting too. You guys should check out Quarto!
"its not going to haunt my dreams". Later that night Zee wakes up having the worst dream ever - being one of the stones squished between the board and another piece. A voice ordering him to correctly pronounce the name to be released. 😅
I wonder how much being solved actually hurts a game. I mean Connect4 is solved and it's still sell millions of copies, sams with Othello. I do think 8 turns per player is on the really short end. I designed a game name Sayu and I was debating whether to have 12 or 24 turns per player and went with 24 in the end which roughly doubles the length of the game.
Future video suggestion - You obviously cant' review everything you are sent and have some criteria for choosing those you do review. So idea: TOP TEN REASONS YOU DECIDE NOT TO REVIEW A GAME.
The price seems crazy for what you get. Sure, the components are nice, but its only a little bit of stuff and the components aren't complex. $38 is too much!

Would love to see you guys ranking Gigamic games!!
Haven't played them all but so far I think Quarto is my favorite
Nice and simple. I might add this to my collection if the price isn't too steep.

Genuinely thought Tom was going to refer to himself as a Grandma's closet. :) Surely if he were any furniture it would be a wardrobe, though.
Draw 16 circles, take the necessary number of coins in 3 colors/characters and you are ready to go!
Or poker chips
Checkers pieces stack even nicer 😂
Looks like a simplified Tak.
Exactly what I was thinking
Ditto.
I haven't played either game, but I was wondering how it compares to Tak as well.
@@hardyworld Personally, Tak is one of my favorite games that is easy to teach and travel friendly, with Backgammon being a close second
This seems like Tak but less rules.
