TexTrading thanks for the reply. I think I’ll try them out. I think I’ll try what you did on your setup video(charting on tos and executing on Lightspeed).
Great video. I like your clean setup. Lightspeed has so many different Level 2 data add ons it charges. It's hard to tell which are useful vs nice to have... Which have you opted in to pay for?
How come under the Commands Section on your video at 15:46 mine doesnt have the BID1 BID2 BID5 settings? Its just blank under Saved Commands. Do I need to manually type it in?
Can you give an in depth breakdown of the fees with lightspeed for scalping options? For example I take anywhere from 200-350 trades per month depending on the market. Would it be worth switching from schwab to lightspeed? I’m trying to outweigh the fees/better execution to free/slower executions(especially closer to the open)
Just asking is it possible to set up hotkey in this pattern below Example there is a call option Currently at market Bid $3 ask $3.50. I wish to have a hotkey or anything that faster the process to sell at $3.45 making my queue to sell be first. But I do not want to sell to the market[filling on market]
Hello, thank you for the video. I'm currently using webull but I'm ready to start day trading at a higher level since I'm in the process of depositing over 25k on webull. What are the advantages of using lightspeed in comparison to a free broker such as webull.
With a broker like Lightspeed, you're expecting excellent execution speeds and good fills on your orders, as well as a solid platform that has all the data you need to see a complete picture of the market. The free brokers will be lacking in those area. It's a must for my style of trading, but you can still make money trading a lot of different ways than me.
Also has light speed ever got stuck when trying to close out orders? TOS couldn’t close out my order today. I was lucky though, still green, but still I’m planning to switch
Good question. I have a margin account so I’m not sure. I believe they do settlement margin in an IRA so maybe also cash. Shoot them an email and let me know if you find out. Thanks.
Could you an updated setup tutorial for Stocks? Also your thoughts on Lightspeed after having used it for 2 years? Are all the fees, commissions and so on worth it? For context, I place 5-10 larger trades per month. Not a super active trader, but yeah :)
I think Lightspeed is going to be worth it for very active traders. 5-10 trades a month is not very much. The platform fee is waived based on commissions, so you likely wouldn't have enough. Otherwise I still love the broker and platform.
@@TexTrading I mean, majority of my trades are $50k+, sometimes in the $400k-500k range with margin. I don't mind paying a measly $170/month or whatever if it means a superior broker. Given my activity, how much per month you think i'd be paying? Let's say less than 100 trades a month, probably around 60. Thank you!!
@@TexTrading they say international trading account take longer to process at first and say due to covid and robinhood issue they experience lots of new applicant. After 1 plus months. Had email or call them almost once per 2 weeks. Same excuses. After sending them document. And later stages, the person in charge totally forget about my application and need to repeat whole process again. Super terrible experience with lightspeed now. Just that there is no other good alternative. Either trading platform not good for scalping [slow speed] or not accepting Singaporean for open account. Or else I will definitely leaves lightspeed soon if found better alternatives.
wow! I already like how simple it is. There is so much I have to do to get my orders filled on TOS. Also, with TOS everytime I hover over the option chain they start to raise prices... So I really need a direct access broker (tired of getting played by the hft firms, wholesale broker, or mm betting against me)
awesome video friend great work .....
Thanks for making this video. I am new to LS ; needed this options trading platform shortcuts. Only thing I noticed LS lacks is an options chart
The exact video I was looking for...Thanks
Tex what broker do you use now? Scalping options good w them? I am going to try lightspeed
Ill be switching from TOS very soon. How is Lightspeed for scalping options? Also what other brokers work great with options scalping? Thanks
Lightspeed is fantastic for scalping options. I always get fast and reliable fills. I know others use and like Interactive Brokers.
TexTrading thanks for the reply. I think I’ll try them out. I think I’ll try what you did on your setup video(charting on tos and executing on Lightspeed).
Is it possible to have a Level2 window for Puts and a Separate one for Calls? I haven't figured out how to do that
Hey Tex, I’m having blonde moment, but I’m going ask anyway. Will I have to select a strike in order to utilize the hot buttons? Thanks

I'm not using Lightspeed anymore, so things may have changed, but I was just paying for the level 2 bundle I believe $20/month

I created those.
Do you use a Preferred Direct Access Routing? if yes, which one do you prefer. Thank you
I just use the smart route.
@@TexTrading Are these Smart routes on lightspeed Faster than the ones on ThinkOrSwim and other brokerage platforms. Thank you
@@kumudadhi Yes, I usually get fast and good executions. You can see my recent live trading videos for example.

You can set a slippage amount for your custom commands using limit orders.
Thanks for the video Tex! Quick question, is there a setting to see executed orders on the the chart?
You can turn the setting on to see executions in the chart settings. But it only shows stock, not option executions.
@@TexTrading Thank you

@@TexTrading thank you very much for your answer. I'm already considering getting lightspeed in the near future.
can you chart the options contract instead of the underlying stock?
Not on Lightspeed.
Is there a way to see the % I am up on my options?
Yes, there is a % change column I believe. I haven't used Lightspeed in a long time though, so I can't say for sure.
Do you have to have an account with Lightspeed, or can you say keep TDAmeritrade and just use Lightspeed platform?
You can certainly use TD Ameritrade for your charts and Lightspeed for your broker to actually execute trades.
thank you for sharing , is possible to have zoom call with you , and if yes may i know the best way to contact you , thanks

Never got stuck trying to close an order
Does Lightspeed have same day settlement for option trading in a cash account?

How long did it take for your lightspeed account to be approved ?
Within a week, but I opened my account years ago. Since Covid-19 I’ve heard they’re behind with so many people getting into day trade now.
It take me 5months to open account with lightspeed. Super terrible. Worst account opening process of all brokerage

How do I unlink the options level 2 window from it switching to all of them?
Right click on the top bar of the options L2 window, and choose unlink. You have to right click on that tippy top part.
