Blink tour brought me here. These guys are so rad!! Dream metal 🤘
Me too brother
we finally got actual Happycore
That's what I though. Checks most of the boxes from Stevie T's "happy black metal" video. The vocals are taking some adjustment for me as I prefer a more traditional black metal, grindcore, or crust punk sound, but I'm coming around pretty fast.
They are more like dream metal I'd say..the guitarist is my a really good friend, lemme text him and see if can't get an answer..so pumped to see them with soasin in May
Best thing I've heard in awhile. Loudwire brought me here
ME TOO!
Liquid Metal brought me here
same
Me too
I just discovered this band last night. There aren't enough adjectives in the english language to adequately describe how much I love this. I am absolutely floored by the majesty of this band's music. The instrumentation, and song structures are amazing and the vocal melodies are utterly haunting. I haven't really heard anything new in the last 7-8 years that is this refreshing and unique. This band has a death grip on me and has my full attention and appreciation.
This, this right here, is simply magnificent.
Death metal vocals sound like demons... this sounds like angels, it must be LIFE metal...
I really like this terminology.
I think you just coined a new term.
Holy shit! What is this? I know its perfect. Wow, I´m normaly into Black and melodic death metal, but this is beautiful!
Thanks Liquid Metal for playing this one
Nick Simko Ha, same. Gotta spring for satellite radio.
Same here, one those tracks I had to catch the info on or I’d die unhappy.
same.
That's where I heard this too lol
A man from the future also came from liquid metal, me
This band has been my recent nonstop soundtrack. Haunting vocals with raging drums and guitar. It’s a mesmerizing mix of serenity and angst. It just enthralls me.
I discovered them 4 years ago during a hard time . I’m going through that same shxt again , so I come here . This song takes me to a hopeful place , an uncertain future .. but I have hope and I have love
man I tried hard to hate this lol being a stubborn death metal head an all... I couldn't do it, this is great
Yeah same, saw em live about a year ago, vocals pissed me off, but they grew on me, instrumentals are awesome though
Saw them with periphery and they were truly awesome.
Guy's this is what it's all about. You can't just be an elitist for the sake of being a stubborn elitist. These guy's did something fresh with the genre, and they did it right. Happy to read your comment Ricky. But hey don't listen to me. My thing is Radiohead... Eventhou I'm a homegrown Norwegian from the land of metal. Anyway... This is awesome.... It's fucking great :D Absolutly inspiering
@@Bahamutdordi Exactly! Just don't be afraid guys and open up to music, wherever it takes you... I was hiding my love for 80s pop for years just for the sake of being true "thrasher" and it feels so much better to not lie to myself or trying to avoid some things... Now I blast Cutting Crew or Duran Duran right after Aborted and it feels great! :D
The fact that your instinct was to hate on this is dumb as fuck. I'm glad you came around to it though.
If someone thinks this is not metal he probably thinks of metal more as a fashion than music. This is metal and really artistic one. It's instruments sound more metal than lots of gutural bands I have heard.
Its like Coheed mixed with some thrash, mixed with some dragonforce, with a pinch of angels and airwaves...I don't know what style this is but fuck me its good!
That's your opinion and that was mine, either way I like what they're doing.
Bedroom Aesthetic Cool
Power Metalcore?
in my city its Dangdut
I read "dream thrash" somewhere.... seems appropriate
I found this today at about 3 AM from liquid metal! This is sick!
This form in the metal genre is awe inspiring. Instead of freeing the aggression from my soul this purifies my soul into a point of singularity, creation then duality.
I'm constantly looking for new and different metal, and it has taken me 4 years to find this group. Listening to The Caretaker's "Everywhere At the End of Time" led me to find this group, in a non-linear sort of way. I'm glad I found it! These guys are astounding!
Not disrespecting The Caretaker's dark masterpiece, but this does sound like a good counterbalance as a palate cleanser
Banger boys
Saw this band live at a Coheed & Cambria show, and the crowd (including myself) absolutely loved it. After their last riff the crowd just roared, it was awesome!
It is kind of counterintuitive to go out of your way to shit on this band. They've created something new and fresh and in my opinion, amazing. If you don''t like it just move on to something you do like, but this, especially if you are a musician, is something to admire.
I love metal. I listen almost exclusively to metal. My friend group is made up in large part by metal fans. This is probably the most divisive band I have discovered in some time. I absolutely love the album but all of my metal loving friends think I am crazy. Everybody I play it for gets two minutes into this song and then turn it off. I guess I will just continue to listen to these guys alone as I drive in to work.
I think Baby Metal and this band are by far the most divisive... The main reason being their happy and optimistic take on the genre, which may also signal a shift in tastes and sensibilities. For too long the genre has been based on rage and aggression, it's become absurd. It's time for metalheads to lighten up and these guys have demonstrated that it can function musically, very very well.
Could be they were liking it and couldn't come to terms with it. Enjoy it!
honestly fuck metal-shit-heads , most of them are just so pretentious narrow minded elitists pieces of shit
Sometimes, slapping your metal friends for fucking with your music is the most metal thing you can do.
This could be a cool bridge between "easy listening" music and metal for a bunch of people. I'd be scared to play regular metal gigs if I were them, "trv metalheads" aren't exactly tolerant of major keys or clean vocals, and this sounds light as fuck.
I think it's hilarious that a lot of " trv " metal fans love this album because they hear a thrash influence but if you even bring up metalcore they get disgusted.
They played at a black metal show in Boston a few nights ago and they kicked ass! The crowd loved it.
Great Scott's! I was impressed.
yes?
They played with Frosthelm and Ghost Bath, lol. (Numenorean was on the bill but had visa problems)
Maybe it's because they were local, but everyone was really supportive.
This song helped me through my divorce. Thank you ^_^
Wow!!!!! Thank you SiriusXM for bringing me here!
Frankie Castellano same here. I heard it driving home from work at 1 in the morning. Had to sit in the car until it was finished.
i love the mix between the power of the music and the aerial aspect of the voice. What a jewel, i order this album immediatly
Heard this on the radio and been waiting a long time to hear it again. So glad I finally found this :)
such a beautiful song. I'm in love
Post Metal is great!
I've been listening to this on repeat hours before I proposed to my love. :)
So pumped for this album! Love both tracks so far.
Happycore!!! Saw you live on 8/6 in Minneapolis and im in love, my new favorite band. I can't wait to see how far you go! ❤ you have a new fan for life
this needs more views. this, DTP's "Transcendence," Fleshgod Apocalypse's "King," and Gorguts' "Pleiade's Dust" are in my top favorite albums of 2016. great stuff.
I bought all of those this year too. Metalsucks Podcast listener?
i read the website from time to time, never listened to the podcast, though. just might have to. you know, one album that came out this year but didn't meet my expectations was Meshuggah's new album. i mean, it's great, i've been a fan of meshuggah since chaosphere came out, but idk, something about the new one didn't click with me 100%. but Khemmis' "hunted" and the new Ulcerate album are on my top favorite list, too.
what an ending amazing track
Jabrane Amami IKR? I've never heard anything quite like this. It fucking rules.
Melodic AF.
Damn it, I can't stop listening to this song..
Just saw Astronoid live for the 2nd time last night at Great Scott and they blew the doors off that place! Such an amazing band and genuinely nice guys to boot
Death Metal? This is Health Metal...
oh man. its so funny
Just saw this band open for Tesseract and I was pleasantly surprised. Such an easy band to listen to. This was literally the first song I ever heard from them, and in a live setting, and it blew me away honestly.
I don't understand how y'all aren't more popular
Just saw them live last week with Periphery, they were amazing!!!!!
Saw you guys with Coheed last night and it was one of the best sets I've EVER seen. Also thoroughly enjoyed jamming to QOTSA with the guitarist at the merch table. Cool dudes.
Crack Fiend saw them at house of blues Orlando last week. So good!
That is basically the greatest show I could possibly imagine....imagine if Claudio sang for these guys....nah, all of humanity would become infinite beings of pure light...instant end of game cheat code.
Ethereal Metal. Very Cool. Well done.
Not sure what this would be classified as, but I love the calm vocals with fast/heavy backing instruments.
I'm hearing 'dream thrash' a lot, but I think it's a mix of power metal (Drgonforce style) and shoegazing.
The vocalist's cleans sounds so much like Cove Reber when he was in Saosin. Rad sound.
Love this band and this whole album is amazing. Nothing wrong with listening to something that's upbeat if your a metal head. Look at August burns red, amazing metal band with upbeat lyrics and sound most of the time.
This is great. Life Metal?
Just discovered them from Blink-182's One More Time tour and believe me, hearing this live is un-comparable!! So glad they could open up for them and Pierce the Veil! 🤘🏻
Rock on brother!
I feel like this is kind of like what Fang Island was trying to do.
This my friend is sheer bliss!
Heard this on liquid metal today and my day has been fantastic ever since. This is fantastic. Been singing this for eight hours. You have a new fan.
God I love this song. So inspiring, so uplifting, so happy. A beautiful song to listen to on a bright sunny day.
I love Astronoid. So damn good.
So Good. Can wait to see them in CT! Found them on a best of 2016 that was create by my improv teacher
If Yes were a speed/thrash band...they would sound something like this. And that's a pretty cool thing.
I love this band, can't wait to see them. Iam not a metal head, but these guys have everything you want in music, melody, power, and flow. Remind me a lot of the shoegaze band "pale saints", with a metal twist.
Perfect music for recovering scenesters who now sport thick-rimmed glasses and listen to pitchfork-approved blackgaze bands. (aka people like me)
+Todd Jameson You're self-aware
I know I am going to sound like an over the hill old fart, but is blackgaze the name of the genre this band is playing? Either way, I am really enjoying it. May the road rise.
+DemonWarp65 Blackgaze is like black metal and shoegaze. These guys are apparently 'dream thrash.' I like that better
+Nick DeLuck OK, and what is shoegaze? Sorry, 44 YO thrasher trying to stay hip, but failing miserably 😱KCCO!
+DemonWarp65 shoegaze is, according to wikipedia: "Shoegaze combines ethereal, swirling vocals with layers of distorted, bent, flanged guitars,[9] creating a wash of sound where no instrument was distinguishable from another." the name "shoegaze" came from British music magazines making fun of the genre's guitarists looking down at their feet during most of their live performances due to the heavy use of multiple effects pedals--thus "shoegazing" the entire time.
One of my favorite songs! Such energy and passion!
F'ing best band out there! I've been a metal fan for 30+ years. These guys got a unique sound and amazing talent. Any chance I get, I'm going to see them.
Needs more 👍 this is glorious!!!
P E R F E C T !
I was talking to a friend at work today about the modern metal scene and he asked me about any current bands that aren't just breakdown spammers for meatheads (I realize most modern metal isn't breakdown spam but there is WAY too much of it for me), so I mentioned Rings of Saturn, Erra, Rivers of Nihil, new stuff with actual interesting musicianship/dynamics, he wrote them down then looked up at me and asked "You like shoegaze, right?" I responded in the affirmative, and he just said "Dude, you gotta check out Astronoid 'Up & Atom", its metal plus shoegaze and the song name is a Simpsons reference." I was sold immediately. And after hearing these dudes, I am smiling ear to ear, this stuff is straight up refreshing to a dude like me, after so long in the metal game, this is a breathe of fresh fuckin' AIR!
so glad i found this
New release is totally fucking awesome! Show in Cleveland in June blew me away! Great set..great bunch if guys. You have my ear for as long as the band continues.
man.. this gets me.. . you know..
This is like Beings of Light made into an entire band rather than just a single song.
Saw those guys in Berlin with Periphery - liked it a lot - feel good Metal :) xd
Remember seeing them live shortly after this album came out. This was the song that stuck with me and really turned me into a fan.
Sólo y borracho en Rocha, Uruguay escuchando Astronoid. La globalización no es tan mala después de todo.
any time post-hardcore and post-metal are combined you know you're in for a treat!!
Even better live.
MusicMakesYouBraver I saw these guys in Boston last night. Four guitars on stage. Cool stage presence and good energy
Saw these guys open up for Plini and Tesseract a couple weeks ago at Baltimore Soundstage! I never heard of these guys until then. I like their music a lot! Was a fun night.
If you're a stoner and a metalhead, and this shit don't suck you in and leave you dumb... your shit aint strong enough. This is the best metal music I've heard in years. No cookie cutter bullshit, they're trying something new, and they hit the nail on the head.
Greets from Hungary! The mix is far beyond perfection, the drum sounds OMG... \mmmmmmm/
We'll drift far away, I always thought it was 'We'll transform' lol thanks to Graham from Loudwire introducing me to this album. Now I can sing it w the proper lyrics
So this is the song I fell in love with the other night...
Holy shit I cant find words but its simply beautiful! Greetings from Germany! I love it!
Kinda reminds me of a faster heavier version of Mew
lol i totally agree
Fuck yes. I normally won't stand for clean vocals in my metal but this reminded me too much of Mew to not love it. And the instrumentation is killer.
yeah I'm a big Mew fan, first band I thought of due to the vocals of course, more like a rock band to me even if the instruments are played like metal, they don't sound like it, would say if people like Mew they'd like these guys too!
this makes my head go headbanging slowly and I'm friggin loving it
absolutely fantastic
This song kicks serious ass.
Cara, que música incrível! Realmente, que música F.O.D.A.
Art in its purest form! Creative heaven metal. :D
Heard this on XM radio channel 40 liquid metal. And it was a soothing and smooth ride. I Just had to come back to it.
This is such a great song. I dived deeper though and cannot find one other I like. This shit knocks though.
when i ask my friends for new music, i refer to this, WOW !!!
Happy metal.
just discovered this band cause supposedly they're touring with saosin this spring and holy shit they're tight
Seeing them and AAL AND PERIPHERY! In Dallas November 28th!
This. Is. Fucking. Awesome. Great job! New fan for sure.
like Ride or Asobi Seksu meets Deafheaven or Ghengis Tron :D Nice.
Boo Radleys' "kaleidoscope"
I know your comment is ancient, but Ride,Deafheaven and these guys mentioned in the same sentence demands my respect.
All I see here is labels...people putting bands into categories like food into boxes...metal. deathcore. Hardcore...can we not just listen to the music, appriciate the creativity/ originality and try not to categorise bands. Just enjoy them for them...Like appreciating good art or a fine wine.
"Hey, i like this band. What is the genre called so i can find numerous other bands that play tunes like this?"
"It's called music."
"Well thank you, this information is a completely sufficient answer to my question and i have no problem finding other bands like this."
Do you see why genres are necessary now? We shouldn't fight about it, of course, but this is why categorisation is impprtant.
Loudwire brought me here
But... this doesn't make me happy...it's filling me with sadness ;-;
Checked out this band cause they are touring with Ghost Bath (I'm not even from America or Canada, but still got curious :P) and I love what I hear. That chorus is majestic!
No, after month listening this band i should accept, that they are very fucking awesome guys
Great holy drums and shred, batman!
Wow this is pretty awesome!
I just saw them yesterday with Plini and TesseracT. They rocked! They remind me of My Morning Jacket lol
Amazing band :D
I'm usally this stuck up "I'm a musicians musician.... And i only listen to Radiohead'n shit" And "Music is art" And all that noise...This..... This here is the fucking shit!! Fucking love it (^^,)
Man that beat is insane. Not a huge fan of the singing in this but you can't deny the sound itself.
Reminds me of Devin T.
Nice!
Metal version of “Slowdive”? Fuck yes. I’ll take it!
Sounds like those lively anime intros to me.
The only other thing I've heard like this is Equestrian Metallers, but this is much better.
best metal release of 2016. I'll fight you in real life if you oppose me
Better than Fates Warning - Theories Of Flight? (FW's best album, imo, and I've been listening to them since the '80s). Better than Vektor - Terminal Redux?
Ghost' new album...
Yes, it's better than all of those.
gojira magma
Magma is like this except without the energy. Definitely not the best thing Gojira ever did.
