You will need those waterproof socks for Florida. It looks like a whole lot of wading through swamps at the south end. I would skip that part of the hike. You will probably do it. There is a place on the that trail called Thank God Island. The only dry land for miles.
Glad you finished the Ice Age Trail and enjoyed Wisconsin!

I hiked a lot of trails including the triple crown, AZ, CO, FL and the Long trails and would like to do another long trail before I'm too old, but the incomplete nature of the North Country, Ice Age and others discourages me. I prefer more of a continuous trail with minimum road walks.

Very much enjoy the Ice Age Trail. Thanks for gear review. Every trail is differed and thanks for sharing the trail. Great looking flag of the Ice Age Trail. Enjoy your triple crown trip. Looking forward to the Florida Hike. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!

Nice video. I disagree about the trekking poles. Chances are that those plastic collars split because the tubes have stretched. That may lead to the tube splitting or the internal piece slipping. Consider a hammock for the FT. 50+ years ago we had jungle hammocks. They were a lot less work than having to build a platform to get out of the muck. Also for cold weather camping consider a pocket warmer that burns lighter fluid. It can warm you and dry clothing. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Got home from the Aldha-West gathering. Great to see you get a well deserved Triple Crown. I look forward to following you on the FLA Trail in Jan.

Her Goobs, I discovered that Army Surplus stores have a terrific selection of backpacking supplies. I found a great selection of 1 person tents that are very light and not that expensive. And a much larger selection of hiking poles than the other high price chain stores. There is an Army store near me that I've never been to. Like a great candy store.

Yes and very sturdy heavy duty stuff also. All gear in surplus sites are awesome

Glad you had a good time. It is an acquired taste I suppose. I love hiking in the woods of Wisconsin. The bugs are the biggest problem. It's more of a spring/fall thing for me. The big views are OK, but I'm more of woodsy type. It's getting so bad in some places where you have to haul out your own crap and you can't bring your dog. Not for me.

First of all, congratulations on completing the trail. I saw that you loved and in the last videos you weren't ready to finish the trail. Have fun at the triple crown event.
I did my first multiday hike last week. Very enjoyable, but also very taxing physically. I'm still amazed you can walk all these days continuously.
    Cheers.

Congratulations Goob on another NST. Been following your adventures since we hiked together on the AT. I may see you out on the FL Trail. Be sure to check with the FL Trail Association before your hike. There is likely going to be a LOT of detours in the big bend area due to Helene. Possibly a lot of miles of detours. FL roads are not as forgiving as WI roads.

Morning Goob, we’ve enjoyed watching your thru hikes. The Ice Age Trail seems to have more hotel stays. Do you have a rough idea what someone should budget for this trail? Thanks and waiting for the Florida Trail.

I tend to spend more money than average but I think $1,000 per month out there should be fine.

Great Job Goob. I like Oboz but I don't like their Ofit insole, Once I put a heavier insole in them I love the fit and wear, But all I get is the sawtooth 2 mid. I thought the Ice Age Trail was awesome. It might not of had all the views like other trails nut it was nice to see a place I have never been. Awesome Job.

Enjoyed watching but that being said the Ice age trail was the first one of your hikes that I wasn't inspired to want to hike. It seemed uninspiring and just blah. Can't wait for your next adventure.
